You know how generally on here you'll get a lot of people saying 'bring on such and such' at around 60 minutes, but then Pardew would bring on a left back and McClaren would bring someone on with 13 seconds left? Benitez actually does these things before we've thought it, which is new to me, I can't remember having a manager like that. It does seem very alien doesn't it?

Aye it's a bit much to expect highly paid professionals to give their all when they turn out once a week or occasionally twice. It's just not human nature. Whatever your job is, you need to feel a sense of purpose and have some positive influence coming from somewhere. Absolute tosh. Take in a Northern League game and you'll see players throwing themselves into challenges and playing like their lives depended on it with nothing really at stake and for little more than their travel expenses. 100% effort is a minimum requirement and a lot of players haven't given that this season. Yeah but that would imply that success is the aim.

I don't understand how anyone still gets it wrong in the first place. Don't they teach this in school anymore? It's really, really basic English. They do but then again English is a pretty stupid language.

There's always wanker fans with every fanbase and the hollowest vessels make the loudest sounds unfortunately. I grew up with many Villa fans and I wouldn't say we're hated or they are particularly wankers. Especially in the last few years.

We bought him on the back of his performances as a CENTRAL MIDFIELDER then proceeded to play him on the wing. If you bought Shearer and played him at left back he probably wouldn't look too good either. We bought him to sell him on regardless of whether he fit the team or not. Pardew had a wealth of talent compared to McClaren and Rafa and fucked it off and pleaded poverty because he's an egotist and a weapons grade penis.

True, weve been spending 80M every season since Ashley took over. On English players I don't see the 80m panic spend as a policy change per se. The funds available and transfer policy aren't the same thing. We're still going for the same deals that don't address the imbalance the team. Fed up of hearing about this 80m. It'll be chump change in a few years within the prem and the club makes significant profits each year. The English players thing; I was impressed by the Shelvey signing and Townsend has a goal in him, don't really care about English players though and that seems to be the reason they were signed over needs elsewhere. I get the policy change argument; but McClaren still had little say and acquisitions were still based on Carrs little list of favours and ultimately have been our downfall this season. It's hardly been a case of but things have been so different? How did it go so wrong? Don't think anyone believes our transfer policy has altered beyond all recognition, just that their have been obvious changes, and their have been. Unfortunately the biggest similarity to previous windows is still there. Which is leaving too many glaring gaps in the side. Fair comment. It hasn't made a difference however you view it.
