Going down man based on this discussion. Just highlights the utterly FUBAR nature of it all. No club is stable or successful whilst like this.

this, is there honestly still anyone on here who doesn't believe he deserves the sack based purely on his performance over the last year? i know brett is one but is there anyone else? would love to see a poll like I can think of 3 who? inochi, ian w, brett? i don't think ian w and inochi would keep the fella like they just seem to revel in being contrary (might be wrong)....someone else is a bit pro-pards, happy face? By the way his performances from last season do deserve the sack just for the record, but i've just always maintained i wouldn't trust Ashley to hire someone to make me happy if he was ditched. Onnce decision was made to keep him, i decided to give him another season and another chance. So actually i do think in general Pardew's performances from last season should have earned him the sack under normal circumstances, but this club hasn’t got normal circumstances Talk about a contradiction of a post. If you are happy with a bloke you think should have been sacked , what difference does it make who is appointed? Because there's a difference, if i was a Spurs fan i'd have wanted Harry Redknapp sacked and AVB brought in, however i wouldn't have wanted Redknapp sacked if they weren't looking to upgrade. In our case we wouldn't be looking to upgrade, it would be someone like/deffo JFK, so i'd rather stick? I think you would be hard pressed to find a manager worse than Pardew tbh . I've actually named our next manager in my post if Pardew gets fired so i wouldn't say i'm hard pressed. He certainly isn't worse. I would guarantee you wouldn't see the cowardly tactics and performances that Pardew has been manufacturing. Incredible that you can be so sure Joe would be better. Not sure what the basis is for that conclusion. The point is, he's not likely to be worse. Replacing one dinosaur manager with another isn't really what's required, but at least we're a step further along the road. How will being a 'step further along the road', with all of the unrest that goes with it, help us to win football matches? If Kinnear is no worse, or better, than Pardew - what's the benefit? Because one more detestable cunt is out of the club? This. I don't care if we finish 17th if it meant getting rid of this court of cretins. The less of them the better.
  3. Got him the gig as the painting in Ghostbusters.
  4. Joe has been strongly linked with Helmut Cheiss. Must be 1 of the 3? Bundesligue?

Yes Alan. Football and finance. How silly of us.
  6. Apparently managed to get Peski Bolokic yesterday. Anyone know anything about him? Croatian?

Put Laudrup in front of the Stoke squad and you are sure you wouldn't once think "hang in, this manager would do better if he was allowed to identify his own transfer targets"..? 100% agree with the rest of hour post. Once again, I am not defending Pardew, just arguing that he is being hung out to dry, which doesn't help an already limited manager, and merely replacing him (with one of the likely candidates) is unlikely to see us reach our potential. Our problems run much deeper. Think we're pretty close on the last bit together. Though I would find it weird for anyone not to be. I find the Laudrup thing hard to consider because it's purely hypothesis and well, frankly he is a much better manager imo. It's further clouded by the belief that Laudrup picks players based on a philosophy that creates effective football, whereas Pardew seems to aim for more journeyman types that fit a less effective ethos. I know your saying that if he could pick his players we might do better, but there a re too many other variables that make that comparison an odd one. He signed Michu (best signing in recent years) and Hernandez whereas Pardew has frequently aimed for the likes of Carroll and Darren Bent; and signed cast-offs like Obertan. I don't know. He's a better manger who knows what a better player is?

Then I would argue Laudrup is an astute enough manager tactically and intelligent enough to make the appropriate adaptations and decisions in order to make it effective. Pardew is decidedly less so; thus a massive hinderance to his success in this situation. I don't think anyone will disagree that he is being shafted. However we are emotionally invested and stuck with Ashley, whereas he knew what he was climbing into bed with when he joined. Why? because he's a very limited manager who was given the opportunity to play for a club bigger than he has ever managed. The problem is he is rubbish and that is compounded by the fact that he has an owner who doesn't care/won't invest sufficiently on business grounds/makes mind-boggling decisions. The fact he is still in a job and a 'professional' such as this tolerated is just one facet of why this club is the endemic clusterfuck that it is. Until everyone who is now part of the club hierarchy and players who don't want to be here are gone and replaced by people who have hunger and ambition then we'll be finger pointing until the cows come home. Ashley ultimately is responsible for the lot of course; beyond that it's tricky but Pardew is high up imo.

Confidence is a problem depending how widely you cast the net. In a whole club sense then yes. As a team; a coherent gameplan comes before gaining the confidence to implement and sustain it. Well low confidence is a knock on effect (from things like poor tsctics, player sales, poor results, poor manageent) it just compounds the misery and pulls us faster on the downwards spiral we are on. Only a sacking will rescue it IMO. Until then it will get worse. The crowd won't have too much patience this season, Pardew has had his time, he's wasted it moaning at everyone else rather than looking at himself. Confidence didnt come first, I guess that's what you are saying, if so I agree. Aye. Confidence is the place from which you work back to what the root problem is. (Parklife).
  11. I'm starting to think he doesn't exist and is like Keyser Soze or the Mandarin in Iron Man 3

Wow. That's put me on a downer. If we win it won't be a great win, it probably won't even be deserved, it will be tight and down to poor play or mistakes by wham. We aren't going to turn on some style or be organised not when we haven't done that now for over a year. Any kind of win might be enough to start the ball rolling and lift a few heads but even if it does its papering over the cracks and it'll only take a better organised team playing with confidence to see through it and put us right back where the team belongs under the current manager. I think at this point we just need a win to get the ball rolling in the right direction. One of our biggest problems is confidence. Wew. Confidence is one of our biggest problems, really?

f***ing hell man. Saying judge us against West Ham Saturday evening, not Man City away? What's the f***ing hell man for? I would say that's a sensible thing to do? No? just me? The f***ing hell man is for you saying 'more appropriate opposition levels'. The bit I bolded. It speaks for itself, it's just more pathetic snivelling s****. Lie all you want about judging us on 1 game this weekend, we both know that won't be the case if we don't get a result. I can well understand why you bolded the bit about 'more appropriate opposition levels'. To be honest, the amount of apathy and cringing to both the clubs policies and Pardew is beginning to do my head in. As a fan for more than 50 years and who has taken an active part in changing the club by being part of the movement to oust McKeag in the late 80s, I am beginning to feel it just wasn't worth the time and effort many of us put in because it seems that many fans today are quite prepared - and happy with - being cannon fodder for at least a quarter of the PL as well as believing that we are permanently a second rate club and lack any more potential than clubs like Leeds and Sheffield United. If we had all believed that, we would never have had the SJH and KK years, never had the signing of Alan Shearer or the CL years under SBR, but if people want to support a club that takes their money and tells them to be grateful for being in the PL as well as deliberately fielding weakened sides in the FA Cup so they can be kicked out by the likes of Brighton 2 seasons' running, good luck to them...they'll need it. I often wonder if some people ever look at the gate figures we had during the 70s, when we didn't win anything but had some great players and played some great football too - we always have been one of the best supported clubs in Britain and had SJH got his wish about Leazes Park, would have had the second largest ground after Man U...you can blame that idiot Prescott for that, but I reckon many on here won't want to admit THAT. Small-time thinking leads to small-time status in football - I just wonder what those who are content with the status quo will say if and when the club is bought out, hopefully by someone with more ambition as well as more money. Not sure where I stand on some of the rest of the post but that bit rings true. Far too many pragmatists letting acts of blatant disrespect and sheer folly go unanswered for. You can argue, modern football, what can we do? but christ, some of the shit this pack of vultures have gotten away with is disgusting. How the vast majority can be defended is beyond me.

It's long past time people starting picking apart in detail everything those associated with Ashley and co. say and do tbh. Pragmatism has gained us fuck all and your average toon fan is probably far too patient given what has gone on.

I just mean the general way in which people choose to draw whatever is the most negative possible conclusion from every quote. They must know that what he's saying is absolutely bog standard for a manager. As to your conclusion, yes it's a matter of opinion. Personally I think he has to big up the players he has because he might have to rely on them. He has to get the balance right with admitting we need signings without undermining his current players or lowering morale too much. Again, bog standard for a manager. I would contest that what is bog-standard for a manager at any other club is different to the situation at this one. Alistair Campbell would struggle to find a positive way of presenting the conduct of this club in recent years. Any one working under this regime; needs to tread pretty fucking carefully as far as I'm concerned. Liverpool fans have kicked off for much less and because their fans are respected (albeit too much on occasion) they are the better for it; certainly heading in a better direction than us.

I'm in agreesies with neesies; speak all the manager-cliche bingo-shite you like. To mention 'patience'; following ridiculous carry on like we had last season over 'thank god we haven't got the Europa League, I'd much sooner he say something like 'The next few days could be big for us.' He doesn't have to say anything else. As it stands he comes across as an arrogant sack of shit and If it walks like a duck, acts like a duck and talks like a duck then I'm not going give anyone a hard time with anyone who says that he's an arrogant sack of shit duck. In fact I'd rather he not mention us as fans ever, because to have the gall to pretend that what Ashley and as his minions have our interests at heart in any way given the farcical and sickening carry on that has been since they took over, is an insult and staggering. Just get some fucking humility and if you can; focus on getting the team playing.
  19. *mr chips shitting his pants and chucking up on the 7th green* Is it Arshole in one Roy?
  20. Finance detail and location aside. This guy is fucking us over royally; in a football sense, the enjoyment of being a football fan and in respecting us as intelligent (on the whole) human beings. This is regardless of whether it is intended or not. Anyone not on concerned with any of the above can pack up their troubles and fuck off. I'd take 17th in a heartbeat if is meant this maniacal turd fucked off at the end of the season.
  21. JFK: I'm gonna play a very bad football manager who just doesn't care, and... Pardew: Sorry, if it's a Basil Fawlty type character, well, er, maybe I should do it, just for the comedy. JFK: Let me play it, just to kick things off. Pardew: Yeah, well I'll probably bring something to this role anyway.
  22. It's just a job to these guys, simples Well I've got a face like a smacked arse when I've had a shocker at work, so it's even worse. That's one of the reasons Hatem's happy here, tbh. Worshipped across the board no matter how he or the rest of the team plays. I've said this before, one of the main positives, apparently, of Pardew is that HBA really likes him. Yeah, cos he gets to go to France for a month every time he has a knock and can apparently eat what he wants to. f*** all to do with performance. My favourite managers at work are the ones that let me have leave and don't moan when I'm on my phone when I'm meant to be working. Not sure if you are criticizing HBA or Pardew? You will never play for another manager like me. This is brilliant. Fact.
  23. 3 in by saturday? 3 what? Skinfuls? Cus it sure as hell wont be players.
