I did send a PM to a few of the red/blue players a last week talking about this and the general consensus was to give a choice of two dates in a poll and that is it. If you start worrying about everyone being able to make the same date it will never happen.

I was watching something the other day, might have been the official film actually as BT Sport have been showing them, and told my wife that Andres Escobar got murdered after his own goal sent the much fancied Colombians home early. I've got two genuine (as in from Liverpool) scousers who bet in my shop. They are unrelated and don't know each other but both happened to be in at the same time today. The other, a cantankerous old git at the best of times, was getting really offended as the Betfred bod's on the screen, accompanied by Derek Thompson and 'Big' Kevin Davies, were laying in to Suarez and generally following the thoughts of all reasonable people. This fella was screaming at everybody that it was out of order, he barely touched him, it was a peck etc etc, one other punter chimed in that he was a disgrace and should get a life ban. The scouser exhibited all known stereotypical characteristics that you would expect. Blinkered, yes. Arrogant, yes. Defensive, yes. Paranoid, yes. The decent scouser just stood back, shaking his head, silently apologising to everyone else for the fans of his football club. Very entertaining really.

My bets for today have emptied my betting account, bar a final £1. This World Cup has been an unmitigated betting disaster. Stuck a fiver on Colombia -1/Chile to qualify double at 14/1 among a few other silly £1 bets. If anyone has interest on betting in the Tour de France I reckon it could be worth opposing Chris Froome. He's odds on for the Yellow Jersey everywhere but his form is patchy, he had a bad injury in the dauphine and has had a virus. If you have plenty to burn then Contodor is the obvious shout but his price is too small for small staking punters. Valverde has been in good form and will be around 16/1 or for a longer each way shot Kreuziger or Porte (who would take over as Team Sky's lead if Froome is struggling) are worth a go at around 40's. There is a strong possibility that Cavendish will win stages 1 and 3 as they are not too challenging for the sprinters and will likely have a bunch finish. Kittel and Sagan are probably the only other two worth betting on for those stages.
