Goals scored: 16 Expected Goals: 12.3 When you score 8 in a game you'll always outperform your XG, especially when it happens so early in the season. Our XG at the weekend was 3.94, which weirdly covers the difference perfectly.

I think it's a very stats driven system that FotMob use, and like any system designed like that, it's going to be weighted towards what the creater deems more important from each position, now given he's a defender Van Dijk and Botman would be judged on defensive stats, and given Van Dijk probably had way more defensive work to do then Botman did, it's probably pushed him above him (not that I necessarily agree with it btw). For instance Van Dijk won 12/13 areal duels compared to Botmans 3/3, Botman won 0/0 ground duels compared to Van Dijks 2/2 etc.

I'd try and play a completely fresh 11, don't think Howe will given the opposition, but something like this wouldn't be horrendous. Dubravka Livramento Murphy Lascelles Targett Tonali Miley Hall Miggy Murphy Isak Stick Ritchie, Karius and Dummett et all on the bench for the subs, and give the likes of Longstaff, Bruno and Trippier a whole week between games. I know that that's not the strongest of teams, but it still amazes me the level of depth we have compared to previous seasons
