I actually think thats the reason we're heading after Barnes, Howe will place a hell of a lot on what Miggy does for the team both in and out of position, and probably thinks he's invaluable as such. However he also probably realises the output probably won't quite be there this season, so buying Barnes for the other side (Where we didn't really have anyone who scored regularly) who's primary asset is to score goals can offset the drop off from Miggy.

As I've grown older, I've come to appreciate wider sports more and more, anything that's competitive and has people at the top of their game fighting tooth and nail for what they've trained years for is class to be honest. I used to "hate" and belittle sports like NFL or Rugby but retrospectively that's only due to some preconceived notion that as a football fan I had to hate them sports due to some weird sort of rivalry.

He's not as effective there, but ASM has played their before so that's also an option.

For people who know Barnes a bit better then myself, can he play in the middle of needed? Either on the left of the midfield three, or as a CAM. As I can see Howe adapting how we play slightly this season in order for things to not become stale. For example if Howe wanted to play a 4-2-3-1, you could put this team out: Tonali Bruno Gordon. Barnes is perfect for the way we play, and the setup Howe wants. As much as I love ASM, if we were to sell him for the same price as we buy Barnes, it would make a lot of sense.

Was that house at the start a place the club owns to house new signings? Or a place he's buying himself... Either way, must be lush being a Footballer
