  1. Close enough Bobby actually.
  2. He finished 2nd and 3rd. Your God Eddie Howe has spent £700m and hasn't done that. You wish your manager could produce "any old shit that's approaching mediocrity." Now settle down and stop making yourself look silly.
  3. Can we just remember the crucial fact that he's being appointed as a caretaker manager. Seems an important detail that many are leaving out.
  4. When you were as good as us, the only way is down.
  5. I didn't say he wasn't a good manager. he's just not elite and never will be. He will set us up very well in a 4-2-3-1 and have us play fast, attacking football. He'll likely get tactically found out against the likes of Pep or Howe, but he'll probably batter the lower half of the league and pick up more than enough points to get us into Europe again. Then Luis Enrique can come in and win the treble.
  6. Nobody is saying he's some sort of genius. We just know what he will bring and we love him. Not going to lie and say there isn't some rewriting of history going on mind. Standards were higher when Ole was sacked and a lot of people felt it was the right decision. But standards are in the gutter now. Europa League wouldn't have been enough for Ole to keep his job back then, but now it would be brilliant.
  7. Pulled the trigger too quickly after a poor run of 6/7 games. I think Ole was always up against it. He wasn't seen as a top tier manager so they were waiting for the first opportunity to get someone more high profile in. Glazernomics. People can call him shit all the like, but he finished second and third. Only Jose Mourinho has managed to match that since Fergie.
  8. Plenty of fans were reminiscing about the Ole days long before it became a possibility that he could return. Not a single Man United believed Ole was a laughing stock. That all came from opposition fans. Which is quite funny really when he finished second and third with a goal difference of about +80 during his tenure. A safe pair of hands and a club legend to boot. Oles at the wheel. Just annoyed this opinion isn't valid because I don't know how to get to Old Trafford.
  9. Surprising to hear as most Geordies still despise him for his perfectly understandable tackle on Rob Lee.
  10. Hope so, but Europa League would do. Opposition fans have a negative opinion of Ole and I never really got it other than the fact they don't like him. In his first full season at us he finished 3rd and got to the semi final of every cup. In his second season he finished 2nd and lost on penalties in the Europa League final (albeit after being knocked out of the CL). We'd be creaming ourselves with those standards now.
  11. Makes perfect sense as a caretaker manager.
  12. Ole finished 3rd and 2nd at us. 5th will be a doddle.
  13. He started as a coach, 13 years ago. He became Academy Director in 2017. Well then pipe down with your opinions on them, you little bitch.
  14. I've always been fiercely loyal to my club. It's not just on here. Don't make the mistake of thinking I agree with absolutely everything though. Far from it.
  15. How can you look at City's dominance, while Berrada and Wilcox were integral, and call them no nowts. Brailsford isn't even there anymore. Come on Branko. I'd also say the reason we're waiting to the summer is due to the amount of managers out of contract. Silva, Iraola, Tuchel etc. What's the rush?
  16. Only a select few are deserving of honest responses. There have been many things at the club that I haven't backed.
  17. Also, was watching a clip of Scholes and Nicky Butt on some podcast. Nicky Butt genuinely suggested bringing in "Brucey" until the end of the season so there's an old head that knows the club. That's what you're up against.
  18. I think there's a balance. Cunha and Mbeumo were the sure things this summer. Lammens looks like a good keeper already. I think that was a much better signing than spending double what we paid for a 33 year old basket case in Martinez.
  19. You think the expectations on Amorim were unreasonable? I think the board and the fans knew this was a long term project. It sounds like Amorim is the one who got fed up. Europa League was the expectation from everyone and I don't think that's a lot to ask at all given the team and signings. If we signed Watkins and Martinez, they're both for high fees/wages and would both need replaced again in a couple of years. We've signed players who might be a bit of a risk, but at least have some time to grow as players and resale value if they don't.
  20. He wanted Watkins and Martinez instead of Sesko and Lammens. With the money Villa would have wanted I think they would have been mistakes as transfers, and we've made those mistakes too many times in the past. You'd be talking what, £80m for Watkins (30) and Martinez (33)? That's according to Brummie anyway. We signed Sesko (22) and Lammens (23) for £88m instead. I'm in strong agreement with the board over those decisions. The power dynamic over transfers between a manager and executives is a tricky one to navigate though.
  21. You know I really liked Amorim, but I can't buy in to the storyline that he wasn't given what he needed. We had an awful attack last season and he asked for attackers and was handed Cunha, Mbeumo and Sesko. Now we need midfielders, and it's common knowledge that we're advanced with Baleba and have a keen interest in Wharton and Anderson. It just feels like Amorim was looking for a way out. Thankfully I think this squad easily transitions into a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. While I believed in what Amorim was working towards, it was going to take time and I think we'll be stable enough under an interim like Ole who'll play on the counter.
  22. A lot of us probably feel that way about our boss. They're still our boss.
  23. I know right? These guys just don't know ball.
