Class. Hopefully a part of you wants him to do well. I use transfermarkt as well to be fair. Think you're looking at Euro values then still adding a few quid on.
-
With Eddie Howe or another top manager, it's definitely plausible.
-
Don't waste your time replying to this Bobby. This is someone who said Elanga was worth the £55m and was desperate for him to be signed. 26 apps, 1 assist, 0 goals btw. Any type of serious football discussion should not be had with this person.
-
Wasn't Rosenoir appointed before Alonso left Madrid? We also haven't appointed anyone yet.
-
We hear this all the time. The next trophy is always just round the corner.
-
I'd have been happy getting £8m for Elanga for his full transfer. Getting £8m for him through a sell-on clause is up there with us winning the treble in '99.
-
Ashley spent half a billion tbf. Pocket change.
-
Honestly the inflating of fees is so embarrassing it doesn't even warrant a reply. Hopefully you'll be wishing your fellow Wallsend man all the best at us!
-
You can't talk about narratives and then inflate fees for the craic. You've added £7m on to Sancho, £8M on to Hojlund, £5m on to Onana etc. Even more hilarious is that you've mentioned Pogba. Not only did he leave 4 years ago, but he played for us for 6 years and won multiple trophies. Just instantly makes your argument lack credibility. We've gone from a team fighting relegation to challenging for the Champions League with only £140m investment as well. Even more impressive than what Howe has done when you really think about it.
-
Surely that would make it easier to make profit? You've spent £700m under Howe. That shoestring PSR budget. I think our spend is fairly modest when you factor in the sales and all the clauses from the likes of Sancho/Elanga etc. (thanks). That's not factoring in the loan fees and obligations to buy for players like Rashford and Hojlund either. We might need to start getting the stats out here Bobby.
-
I think they would. Not sure people would have the same opinion on PSR if a state bought us.
-
Are yours any better or are we only allowed to look at the summer? If you take Isak out your record sale is probably Andy Carroll which was 15 years ago. I'd say Anderson and Minteh are probably next and they were poor decisions.
-
That's not the point being made. We're a massive club, and people need to come to terms with that in terms of spending. If you weren't owned by a state you'd love the rules. To say we haven't been set back is fucking stupid though when we literally finished 15th last year. We've had multiple desperation loans over the years because we couldn't afford anybody decent (Ighalo, Sabitzer, Weghorst etc.).
-
Boils my piss when people trot out this piss. Aye we've not been set back at all. You've also not "missed once." You've spent £260m in the summer (more than us) and the only one who looks worth it so far is Thiaw.

A player who specialises on the counter coming on for 20 minutes against Man City when you're already a goal behind. Definitely won't happen for him in those circumstances.
-
He's from Wallsend anyway so I'm sure you all will get behind him and wish him every success.

Almost every team has a caretaker in place once a manager is sacked though. Even if only for a few games. I reckon you might be surprised, although a CL place was always going to be difficult.
-
Not even 60 games between them though, and 48 of those were Rangnick and Ole (who ended up getting it permanently and performing well in the role). They're just caretakers/interims until a manager is brought in. I prefer that than panicking and rushing into an appointment. With the exception of Fletcher they were all managers or ended up managers. Not like you're firing in Fred the Red, although he might have had more success than some of our managers lately.
-
He's an interim mate. It's not that deep.
-
Won a trophy a week before that. Can't remember who we played, only that is was an absolute doddle.
-
Despite being seen as "comedic", both clubs still won more than most other clubs will win in 100 years, and that's what the history books will remember.

I think we're at breaking point in terms of missing out of Europe. It's absolutely essential to this model. Yes we were able to attract Mbeumo/Cunha etc. but I'm sure their minimum expectation was that we'd be straight back into Europe next season. I think the squad is perfectly fine for a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 which Carrick will play. There shouldn't be much adjustment and I'd say the players will be instantly more comfortable with these formations than what Amorim was trying to implement. Main issue for me is we now have Mbeumo and Amad in the same position, and they're two of our best players. Not sure how Carrick sorts out that dilemma.
