  1. Aye? Should it only be good British men who support the Saudi owned Newcastle with the German striker, Swedish winger, Brazilian midfielder and Swiss defender?
  2. Always found the idea of a second team utterly bizarre. For example so many people over here say they support Liverpool and Celtic. Well what happens if they play each other in a competitive game? "Oh then I'd want Liverpool to win." Well you don't fucking support Celtic then.
  3. Goldbridge engagement farming N-O again.
  4. Antony had more yellow cards in the league for us (10) than goals and assists combined (8).
  5. I totally get that, but isn't the point that we should have thrashed Burnley? Chance after chance. I just don't think you can put that blame on Amorim as long as his system is allowing chances to be created. Last season we were labouring through games creating nothing and losing. If that starts happening again then the tone would change. Like you said though, the sample size is small. In another 5-10 games time we'll see if he has what it takes.
  6. Do you still think it's toxic? It's a big reason why we love Amorim. He's identified the toxic players and with the full backing of the club he has kicked them out the door. He seems to have a brilliant relationship with the board as well.
  7. Must be just before the season started.
  8. Laughing at this mentalist asking for a new contract.
  9. We were easily at our best against Burnley IMO. The Arsenal performance was very good if not spectacular. The Grimsby result and performance was diabolical mind, and I think that's what a lot of people are focusing on. If we can avoid defeat against City and Chelsea I think we'll be in a decent position as the fixtures become more favourable, but that's easier said that done. We're not giving up many chances in open play, but I think teams with any sense are going to continue to land crosses on top of the keeper and I can see it being an issue for a while yet.
  10. Yeah I think that would have been better business. I think the Cunha and Mount injuries will lead to us being stronger in midfield here funny enough. I can see him going with Casemiro and Mainoo as the two, with Bruno and Mbeumo as the #10's. I'm rarely going into games confident because of the keeper situation though. Goodness knows how the defenders feel.
  11. Haven't we though? We're 9th for a start. That's a huge improvement. If you go stat nonce on it we've been terribly unlucky, and that's before you have the discussion that most of the goals we've conceded this season have been goalkeeping errors. We've the highest xG in the league. We've the most shots in the league. We've the most touches in the opposition box in the league. We're averaging 5.3 shots on target (4th in league), but we have a 6.9% conversion rate (16th in league). The chances are being created, so I don't think it's a reflection on the system at all, and I can see why Amorim loses the plot. In the league, with the exception of a half hour against Fulham, I've been very happy with what I've been seeing. Whereas last season nearly every game was a miserable watch. City/Chelsea two big games though.
  12. Aye we might actually get what we deserve out of games if the right decisions are made.
  13. That's me coming out of this thread and into the rest of the forum.
  14. I think people are ruling out Amorim just a little too soon to be honest.
  15. Happy with all the signings we've made. Mbeumo and Cunha in particular feel like they'll be class. We could have done with a midfielder, and I personally wouldn't have signed Sesko and would have went with Hojlund for another season and strengthened the middle of the park instead. Think we've sold OK, but would have liked £15-20m more from the outgoings. Garnacho was cheap but at least has a sell-on clause and not getting a permanent move for Sancho was disappointing but the players dictated those decisions. Antony fee is obviously low but a 50% sell on is huge and if he keeps playing to the level he has in Spain, that could be worth a fortune in the future. We're sitting at around £150m net for the summer and that doesn't include any future fee for Antony and an almost certain £38m for Hojlund. Probably somewhere around the 7/10 mark if I was to rate it.
  16. We did bite the bullet with £43m on a keeper who was considered experienced and confident, and he's shit. Hopefully Lammens is the next Courtois.
  17. It's a "he's absolutely shit" thing. I just don't like him at all.
  18. According to Brummie, Villa would have wanted at least £45m as well. I'd say that's hyperbole, but I'm sure the fee would have been significant nonetheless. If we had spent a lot of money on Martinez and handed him big wages at the ripe old age of 33, then we would received criticism for that too.
  19. Turkey, and we've 10 days to send him back there. Onana can go next summer.
  20. You might have saved them but Onana and Bayindir wouldn't.
  21. Funny I watched YouTube compilation same as you and he looks like the best keeper in the world.
  22. It didn't come from Romano. It came from our tier 1 sources. It's true, and the rest of the wage is on the line for Villa as well but it's based on performances from Sancho. Basically if he plays decent, it'll be 100% coverage.
  23. I haven't seen him play for a single minute, but no he's not.
