  1. Of course. But a manager being emotional isn't to be ridiculed. I like managers like that.
  2. He had a smile on his face the whole time despite being hit with negative question after negative question. Simply said he's an emotional guy and that he'll say these things in the heat of the moment and all he needs is 10 minutes with himself to regroup. I hate my kids sometimes too. I'm not sure of your age but I'd love to know how Newcastle felt about Keegan, who by all accounts is one of your best ever managers. He was extremely emotional and had outbursts where he lost control of his emotions. I like that side of Amorim. Of course, if he doesn't win against Burnley he's in major trouble and this is all moot.
  3. Antony will definitely be a book loss. A big one as well. We paid £64m for Hojlund though. No add ons were hit. Will be a PSR profit if and when the transfer goes through.
  4. Think they need his wages subsidised. I'd do it if it meant getting a 50% sell on.
  5. People need to watch that full conference. He was completely fine. As usual, media doing hit pieces and picking bits and pieces out of it to make it sound as bad as possible.
  6. You edited this as I was about to reply. More than harsh on Martial. We had some great years with him. Sancho miles clear of all those lads. Sanchez would be as well.
  7. There's two or three names ahead of him that are still on our books now. €25m isn't awful with a 50% sell on clause like. That has the potential to be massive in the future if he keeps playing well in Spain. £40m for Garnacho and a 10% sell on. £5m loan fee for Hojlund plus a £38m obligation to buy should Napoli make the Champions League. That's some decent money coming in now and in the future.
  8. Am I being engaged seriously?
  9. He told me the good times are coming.

It is expensive like. What he does after the fact doesn't matter. Let's hope he works out for you long term and doesn't try and run to Liverpool in two years.
  11. Maybe, it is fact though is it not? Give wor Ruben time.
  12. Howe won 1 of his first 9 league games as your manager. A 1-0 home win against Burnley. He was dumped out of the FA Cup in the first game at home to Cambridge United. A result almost as bad as losing on pens away to Grimsby. Until he got signings through the door in January, his win rate was 10%. Howe needed the transfers. Almost every manager needs the transfers.
  13. He deserved defending in certain situations where he was unfairly criticised. He was awful with the press though.
  14. I can fully understand this view point, but I really like that he's emotional and says what he thinks with complete honesty. Ten Hag is probably still going about Garnacho being offside against Arsenal.
  15. Aye I maybe did but I don't want to. And yes I'd agree. The squad is far too good to not be finishing at least a conference league spot. I do think we'd accept 8th, and then we'd go big on Baleba or someone similar and it'll be CL or bust. It starts with Burnley. Manchester United are back at 5pm on Saturday.
  16. He had a squad of cunts. I don't give a shit how much they were signed for and how much they were paid. As many on here pointed out, the rot was/is deep. It was never going to be an overnight fix and people knew this. 9 months is not a long time for someone to completely change the fortunes of a football club. Yes, it needs to get better, but it's early days. As I said earlier, say we get 7 points from the next three games. The noise goes away. Lets just wait and see.
  17. I think it's pretty clear what he meant though. That the performance was so bad that the penalty shoot out didn't matter. Even if we won it wasn't good enough.
  18. Again, I don't want to compare the two. There's few managers I rate higher than Howe. But I'm just saying, Amorim has essentially had one window to properly improve the team, and we're three games in to his first full season. It's way too kneejerk to suggest sacking him. I expect it from rival fans, but not from our support.
  19. I'm not getting into what Howe has done, as I've been pretty vocal about how good I think he is. But we need to remember Amorim is three games into his first full season as well.
  20. I've not backed Onana outside of a few months at the start of 2024 where he looked like he was turning a corner. I've been fairly consistent in calling him a fucking donkey. I've not actually spoken to anyone who wants Amorim gone yet, but confidence is a bit broken.
  21. I wouldn't say a massive fraction. Howe has spent well over £600m has he not? I could say Amorim has had a fraction of the time and a fraction of the spend Howe has.
  22. I think going from 15th to 4th/5th is a huge ask, even if we've spent big on some forwards. I just want 8th. This is the thing with football. We did play well against Arsenal, and we've had a mare against Grimsby. That's seen as the end of the world. If we beat Burnley and get a couple of points from Chelsea and City it suddenly doesn't look so bad. It can all change very quickly.
