  1. Maybe. Inevitable all the same.
  2. Ten Hag was challenged about that. He said he didn't have the players to play the same style as he did at Ajax. He did successfully implement a high press and our final third turnovers etc. were among the best in Europe. Not sure what his plan was for the gaping holes in midfield though.
  3. I mean, they absolutely are sound, but are we going to try and suggest Brummie hasn't been smug since Villa started flying? A bit more quiet this season mind.
  4. Oh just you wait until we're good again.
  5. VAR feeling bad about all the decisions against us this season. Clear red that for me. Fucking hell that was boring.
  6. In the last week or two I've read on here how Arsenal are title challengers and how great of a job Arteta has done because he was given time (less trophies than Ten Hag). I also read how Howe has taken you as far as he can and it's time to move on. Now Newcastle sit 3 behind Arsenal in the table. I love how quickly football can change.
  7. Ten Hag was a good appointment as well. Who knows how these things will go.
  8. Obviously a bit tongue in cheek. People keep trying to act like INEOS are tight because they're streamlining payroll to a level similar to City and Liverpool, but truth is they've met whatever release clause or fee that has been requested by all selling clubs, with the exception being the utter nonsensical £20m stance for a sporting director. I think the vast majority of your fans know you handled the situation poorly. So all I'm saying in response to your point is, the compensation money was likely always there, but Newcastle negotiating the way they did meant you received a much lower fee than you should and could have received.
  9. Sporting had a release clause and we paid it. You made up a silly amount to try and play hardball and it backfired and you ended up getting a fraction of what you demanded. Sir Jim played PIF like a fiddle. He obviously has a lot more respect for Sporting as they never tried to play silly buggers. Fia-te na Virgem e não corras. Bem-vindo Rùben!
  10. You hope this new guy is going to be another Ten Hag? What beating you in a cup final and costing you European football on the last day of the season?
  11. I think that's a statement with the strong benefit of hindsight. They knocked City out of a competition they'll really want to win.
  12. Easy draws for the cartel clubs. Man United rigged as usual.
  13. You trying to have a go at me after my team just knocked 5 past Leicester?
  14. I'm speaking in facts not opinion Neesy. The facts are: He had the third highest win ratio of any of their managers, and the highest since 1946. They were 8 points off the top of the league when he was dismissed. That's not well off it, in regards to Spurs. The fact they had just lost Bale is even more reason to excuse his sacking.
  15. Villas Boas was hounded out by player power at Chelsea after 8 months when John Terry questioned his tactics in front of Abramovich. Chelsea won the FA Cup and Champions League that season as well. Was that all down to Di Matteo? Similarly, he was sacked at Spurs after 18 months despite having the third highest win ratio of any of their managers, and the highest since 1946. They were 8 points off the top of the league when he was dismissed. That's usually as good as Spurs can hope for if you ask me. I think nowhere near is a little bit of a stretch. He didn't just get a fair crack at it. Amorim will get more than a fair crack at us if he's the man brought in.
  16. We beat Liverpool and City on the way to winning FA Cup as well, and deservedly so. Again, it was the inconsistency of the performances.
