  1. Of course it does, and that's something I've never denied. It's not the only factor, but it's a factor. My issue was with the completely false reporting to try and make it look a lot worse than what it is.
  2. Well for all the £250,000 talk, Fabrizio Romano has come out and rubbished that. As expected. Just listened to the Talk of the Devils podcast too (thanks Disco). Laurie Whitewell saying that it's all come from the North East. Bruised reporting was his words. Definitely not my words.
  3. I think there's a huge difference in going for Premier League proven players on £200,000 a week rather than spending £70m+ on players from foreign leagues and giving them £300,000 a week. But that's just me. I don't know how anyone could look at signings like Cunha and Mbeumo and suggest they're not good for us, but people will find a way.
  4. Sublime passes from Bruno and Nuno Mendes for the winner.
  5. No, Manchester United fans were saying the reports of any fee or wages were false because we haven't submitted a bid yet or had an agreement with the player.
  6. I'll let you know when he signs.
  7. The increase in wages and transfer fees every 2 hours. First £50m for Mbeumo, now £60m. First £180,000 in wages, then a minimum of £200,000, now it's £250,000 a week.
  8. Ah for fuck sake. I didn't even realise. You prick.
  9. Lost their minds over the likes of yourselves and opposition journalists falsely reporting on it. I posted some tweets about it earlier. We're taking the piss out of those people.
  10. Where have you seen that?
  11. You mean Newcastle United fans right?
  12. I think you can tweet or email them and they'll give you odds for it. SkyBet do anyway.
  13. Tell me what Cunha and Mbeumo are getting please if and when they sign.
  14. Are we not a project? New manager, new system, complete rebuild, new stadium. We're basically doing the same thing as you except with huge history and a huge global fanbase behind us plus it's with Sir Jim's great British pounds and not middle east oil money.
  15. Football hasn't existed for just 12 months though has it. Mbeumo wasn't born in 2024.
  16. Alex by hook or by Crook is probably even more unreliable than the Newcastle mouthpiece. Steals a living regurgitating Twitter rumours on TalkShite.
  17. You're not being told that, but you're creating a narrative before we've even finalised anything with the player. We don't even have a verbal agreement with Mbeumo yet, but apparently we're blowing you out of the water. You have no idea what we'll offer him. The fact that you believe that the only reason a player could possibly choose Manchester United over Newcastle United is wages is pretty incredible.
  18. I'm not 100% sure on how it works, no. I just know that it exists, and it's always been reported that it's a 25% increase or decrease on base salary determined by Champions League qualification. I'm sure there are finer details.
  19. Love that. At the end of the day, I don't think it's a crystal clear view into financials or anything. It simply uses insiders/journalists/reporters etc. to formulate an estimate of what the salary is. I don't love it, but I think it's a reasonable resource. Lumping me in with TCD has me considering my life choices now though.
  20. I found out about Capology on this forum. So you're wrong again. The only time people started talking negatively about Capology was when it said Kelly was getting £150,000, because it didn't suit the narrative.
  21. You may be right and you may be wrong. Like you said, we'll need to wait and see. I would be fairly confident in saying that we'll have enough outgoings this summer from free agents and transfers to cover or come close to covering the amortisation of new signings.
  22. Once again, people use it in their arguments when it suits them. I've just been consistent with it is all.
  23. Capology doesn't claim to know the wages exactly though. In their words it uses "a network of insiders directly involved in contract negotiations as well as news publications around the world." It also uses reports from the likes of Ornstein, Whitwell etc. to make educated guesses on what the salary is. It's as strong a resource as any when trying to figure out what players are paid.
  24. Kaizero also claimed to know agents in Scandinavia who had information about our club. It was incredibly wrong. I'll trust our own reporters.
  25. They're not on five year contracts. The argument was hypothetical because people were guessing Mbeumo's wage and transfer fee before we've even opened talks. I included the wages of Lindelof, Evans and Eriksen into that conversation also. I think £60m in transfer fees for Rashford and Sancho of them is realistic. Of course removing their wages entirely from the books will be a challenge. Well this is where our upper management have to prove their worth isn't it?
