  1. If we don't sign a top class keeper, what's the chances that we start Woodman? I don't see why not, I doubt he's worse than the others and he has a lot more potential. It would be good for the club to put their trust in a young English player, World Cup winner to boot.
  2. I saw quite a lot of Grosicki last season on TV. The only attribute I could see is that he's fast.
  3. If we start with Gouffran, Colback or Dummett in the team or on the bench it's going to be another long painful struggle again.
  4. England only played for 45 minutes they got what they deserved.
  5. Maguire is better than all our defenders put together, we should have at least make an effort to sign him. I know it's early but considering how much we need to improve there doesn't seem to be much going on.
  6. It is unbelievable that he was paid for so long by the club when it was quite obvious that none of the managers we had rated him. The ultimate dumbass club working at its finest. And just when you think that kind of stupidity is in the past, we are apparently thinking of giving Gouffran a new contract. Mind blowing.
  7. Delph would definitely improve us and would hopefully keep ginger out of the team. If only he could stay fit.
  8. This is by no means a criticism of Rafas coaching ability, but this constant claim that coaches can do this and that with players, make them better, make them stop making mistakes, make them concentrate, is by no means certain and frequently is obviously not the case. Titus was a supremely talented CB, physically imposing, good with both feet, but he constantly had a mistake in him and constantly lost concentration despite some excellent managers trying to improve him. Closer to home and more recently Lascelles has definitely not improved the weaknesses in his game nor has Dummett and I'm sure Rafa and everyone at NUFC have been trying to make them better players.
  9. How has Mangala been at Valencia on loan? He always looks clumsy and error prone when I've seen him play. For a big physical left footer I'd go for Sakho any day.
  10. Very entertaining game. Despite the press wankfest this season imo Chelsea are not actually very good, certainly not when compared with the better teams in Europe.
  11. One of Neil Young's better albums, though he was in the middle of his pretty pissed off phase. Could be the crooked SAF President that should have been locked up. Now Kurt Zouma, he would be a signing.
  12. We will most likely be fishing in the same pond as they are. In fact we will be competing with pretty much everyone outside of the top 6 for players. Historically we haven't spent the money on either transfer fees or wages that many of the others have, this will have to change this summer if we are going to compete for a middle of the table finish.
  13. That would be zero. He's the ultimate disinterested mercenary.
  14. Grown men really shouldn't wear football shirts, unless of course they are playing football.
  15. I was actually hoping for a 0-0 as I've grown to dislike Wenger so much.
  16. Very good. Maybe three at the back at the same time.
  17. Hull don't deserve anything out of this game. Still think they will probably stay up. Maguire, Robertson and Clucas would all be upgrades for us.

If it's them at least we know that they are not laundering money or trying to hide anything by being registered in the IOM.
  19. We don't pay high transfer fees or wages by today's standards so it's very hard to see where we are going to get players from especially within the UK. Maybe more Gayle, Ritchie, Shelvey types from historically small clubs where we can offer them wage rises? I expect we are waiting to see who doesn't get promoted and who goes down to see who we can pick up for around 10-12m. The alternative will be on players from Spain, Italy, France etc who we probably haven't heard of but who are attracted to the premier league because of the wages on offer. I think the likes of Gibson, Sigurdsson, Abraham, Loftus-Cheek etc who will no doubt cost 20m plus are probably going to be too rich for Ashley unless he has an epiphany.
  20. If Rafa thought he could tame him, Balotelli would probably be available from Nice without breaking the bank. He's had a good season at Nice, and just scored a great goal against PSG. He's strong and fast, runs the lines and is suited to playing up front by himself. At 26 he's a good age and still has room to improve.
  21. Lovely goal from Balotelli against PSG, maybe Rafa might take a gamble om him?
  22. Yeah, that's how it works Well actually that's pretty much how it works everywhere in professional sport. The team that spends the most money and pays the highest wages are at the top of the pole. Leicester were an exception but this season sees everything reverting back to normal. The rich are at the top, the poor at the bottom. If we spend a lot of money I'm sure we will do well, if we don't, we won't.
  23. Around 200 Million= Challenge for the top 6 Around 100 Million= 7-12th Around 75 Million= Mid table security/mediocrity Around 50 Million= Relegation fight Around 30 Million= Relegation
