Not sure if discussed already but anyone pick anyone out from the opposition that we could pick up cheap? Thought there CF could come in handy
-
I’d argue the deeper he dropped each season the less successful the “team” was each season. Kane as an individual looked better. That is however the point I’ve always argued with Nick & NUFC. I’ll die on the hill that results aside our best performances have been with AG10 as the CF. Starting at Villa away first game of the season and I’m not even a fan of seeing AG10 deployed to take our biggest chances.

Basically did a Pickford for the penalty rebound. He recovered then headed behind the goal line which was a little strange
-
Also add to that there is still a debate in my eyes how actually technically gifted he is. Yes he’s got some talent. Not going to be oblivious to that to prove a longstanding point that we should’ve went nowhere near him for that price with the team we’d built. Yes the team needs to evolve and not be stuck with just one way of playing. I just don’t see a successful style in this division that fits him as a CF. Next season will be the real test to be fair. If he’s still here which I have my slight doubts about if he has a great WC and an offer comes in. When Bruno is fit I can see him on the bench again before the season is out if everyone else remains fit.

I’m not arguing there was an obscene amount fewer available and club not above criticism. I’m just not as surprised as some and can see the club’s short term justification. Not saying I like it. I’m just dealing with reality in my corner. For example I believe if there is 1000’s of companies on a waiting list for boxes/seats going into the future (Who was it who had the figure given on a recent stadium tour?) then it’s these games the club will cherry pick a handful each to secure a commitment going forward. Don’t ever think I like how the game is going though. I paid £3 my first game which doesn’t seem that long ago. Happy to. Just a debate on my behalf. Not even my own opinions in some cases.
-
No I didn’t. I was asked what started the debate and I gave that as the reason baring in mind the discussion started as the general sale opened/closed. All the other stuff you’ve assumed I meant which I didn’t. Ive explained what’s likely happened. Doesn’t mean I agree with it or like it but I’ve explained what the reality is. Not what you.. I… others would like to happen. I never said that either. I refer you to my first paragraph. Take your frustrations out on someone else. Thanks.

But… to my question. What would your choice be?
-
But what would you want for your 400 friends given that choice?
-
All the points you make are valid. Unfortunately for us when our “rich” owners rocked up this perverse concept that is PSR became a thing. It gets us thinking in terms of revenues and attaches an over importance and necessity to them in reality for some owners. I used to joke they should have a digital counter at The Stack so it could reveal by the minute of money spent going towards the clubs PSR. Wouldn’t surprise me now if it became a thing. Pints for PSR!

I don’t even have to guess. I was told. By who is not for here. Let’s ALL have an honest conversation with ourselves here. What happens when a club negotiate sponsor A,B,C-Z. What do these sponsors ultimately demand at times other than exposure? What can these sponsors obtain from the club for paying X amount over than they probably need to? How do clubs build relationships with all these sponsors? What are club trying to achieve? Higher revenues so they can compete. What is the clubs currency? It really isn’t that deep. My heart goes out to members as it always has and I’ll always try to help the ones I know and meet experience SJP as much as possible. I just hope those who ironically have voiced strong opinions about not wanting a new ground who’ve had an odd pop at me think again. Anyway… It’s a great debate nothing more. Try not to get personal in your responses.

Quite the opposite. Stood up at the recent ST waiting list meeting at the club and give them an insight if they didn’t already know it to the trials and tribulations of what members have to go through on not just a weekly basis but daily and at times hourly. I even suggested they split the 50 new ST’s into 400 as that would spread the reach and opportunity as Part ST holders with the allowance of still being able to ballot for the other games but importantly 400 potential new away fans. Which with home and away transfers currently in place takes the reach further. 400 seeds instead of just 50 seeds if you get my drift. 400 quite happy people as opposed to 50 very happy if you want to look at it as I do.
-
One of the things that does annoy me is when I’m accused of being against members when I’m actually the opposite and support them having more power than they do for want of a better word and less power for ST holders like myself. I can’t recall ever being dismissive or condescending towards any members and If you knew me a little bit better you’d realise what lengths I go to help them. For example I currently have @Ameritoon staying in my house whilst he visits and I’ve helped him secure tickets for the games he’s here for as I’ve done countless times for other visitors from far and wide. I see them no different to us. Fans. Not tourists. My thoughts I believe I have already shared but for your benefit they are that anyone being a ST/Member/TV/From Afar supporter thinking there would not be a massive reduction in availability for this fixture is extremely naive as we play catch up to the Cartel. The fact you made your point based on the very game I mentioned and for the reasons I mentioned highlights I was correct in my response with what had kicked off the debate this week which was the question posed to myself from Ian on how this discussion had started this week. Not historically.

“You might be right that touts will find a way around, or just buy 100 memberships at the start of the season” You might. A football club in our position won’t. Maybe when we are in with the big boys instead of playing catchup several laps behind. There’s never been importance put on fan experience in all my years It’s up to the fans themselves! No one stopping anyone from singing and engaging regardless of membership numbers. We are only ever discussing 15-20% of the stadium in reality. There is because the club would rather they were getting £100-150 legitimately than some tout getting the same as there is a market for it clearly. That’s why they will look to take measures IMO and aren’t doing nothing about like you and others think. We weren’t originally. Also who are you or I to decide who is a football fan? Think it was more that a load of people missed out on derby tickets and decided to have another whinge about memberships.
-
And there has been some good suggestions made regarding that. To not sell something when club is desperate for money and to grow its fan base is a non starter in my eyes. Wrong. The club have a budget. Ticket prices set accordingly to it. That will include how much they’ve made on memberships in that pot. So what you lose from one pot they’d seek to make up in the other. You sell 30K memberships instead of 100K memberships there will be games like last night priced higher especially if opposition more attractive. And like I said in my original post of all the measures listed this one won’t fly for the reasons I’ve given and for the minimal actual impact it have which you’ve now just admitted.
-
What isn’t? Whats wrong with someone wanting to go to one game? That’s all they might be able to afford. Not everyone as fortunate as yourself. I don’t think how many memberships the club sell post the season starting is a major worry either. Any tout or opposing fan that keen you’ll find well be far more organised than buying one a couple of weeks before a fixture.
-
Not if you built in some of the other suggestions you made the other day. As a standalone suggestion this is never going to happen in our current predicament.
-
I 100% agree with your first point. As for his ability I think Dubs 25/26 is better than him never mind 23/24. Wasn’t a fan before he came but he’s been worse than I thought TBH. Anything goal bound feels like it’s going in so far.
-
PSR Why would any company want to stop selling something people want to buy? Would you rather they limit memberships for example and pay £150 for Qarabag last night out of curiosity? What if you become an age that you can go to games? Why should they have to wait so many months before applying?
-
At the Fee and Wage limit we can offer currently regardless of going into our lesser pull when all things equal than some teams we’ll have far more success rate with high work rate players with effective enough technique playing in a well organised system. ”Next level” will only ever be achievable when we have next level finances as it snot just about who you sign but who you can retain long enough. Maybe Elanga would’ve improved us if like as planned we had Isak playing CF…

1. Is definitely a non starter. 2. Doable 3. Good idea though not sure how you check that ID at turnstiles to match owner. 4. Pros n cons. Thinking of families and groups of friends. 5. Not sure if that is always the case but definitely could be encouraged more by the club. 6. Fair enough but equally there is no gain in outrage when we know the club need to maximise its income opportunities at the current stadium. 7 & 8. Definitely a priority I agree. Pretty much all of these were raised a couple of months ago so see what happens going forward into the new season.
-
I don’t mind it… 99/100 I usually agree with him
-
That aside (which I see why the club would have the stance they do) what else would you suggest they could do out of interest? A list of suggestions would be useful.
-
Hopefully will remind the impatient the scale of the project and how many ducks need to be lined up first ideally before going public with it.
-
Repeated the feat for the second equaliser disallowed.
-
Nice finish but I didn’t see the foul which had the Spurs lad clean through minutes before. Equaliser just desserts.
