So we created very little else like I said Wissa inches short of Barnes cross and Elanga shooting wide and maybe Gordon hesitating and not crossing to Barnes with his left foot the closest we came to opening them up. Nick from Elanga cross I wouldn’t count TBH was the sum total towards the Gallowgate. Gordon skying 1st half the only thing I can recall. So point stands. Games look so much different when chances taken unlike Man City game where we played as well against a much better team.

Just shoes what a funny game football is. Can’t recall us creating anything all game as enjoyable a 3-0 win was 3 errors. 3 chances taken. Very little else but the mood so different in and around the ground!

Which In reality was the occasions when the team was playing without a centre forward. Which I feel is what is happening this season.
-
So because of Nick our midfield is not working and our wingers aren’t working?
-
Correct. Much to the dismay of Tel.

Bit harsh on the fans in his case. They are clearly willing him to succeed Isak and erase the disappointment. They even sang his name for the assist for Barnes against Bournemouth. At some point though it’s up to him to start looking more dangerous and give defenders a harder game.

Out of interest what is it you see in him? You always speak so highly of him. Would love you to elaborate for me.

The club have re-negotiated it from mid window to end of window. Looks like we will try and sign someone but if the right player doesn’t come available then we will recall him if needed.

Whichever teams Havertz fitted into… oh… wait…

Just seen the penalty given to Liverpool Ref in the perfect position as well

Unbeaten in 11-12? On target for top 5. Still in FA Cup. Looking good for UCL KO’s 🤷🏼♂️

Think @lovejoyis correct. Mitchell was already on his way out.
-
Was he? Don’t think he was.
-
No but you could say you are under a transfer embargo until you cooperate more swiftly.
-
We will. Lots of things needed attention let’s be honest after MA. Rumours we are looking to buy Textor’s Brazilian club.

Newcastle have scouted Lecce’s Tiago Gabriel, a 21-year-old centre back, but they are yet to follow up on those checks.

Toon scout heads for Paris Newcastle scout Kevin Metcalfe is leaving the club to take up a position at Paris Saint-Germain. Confidential can reveal that the long-serving analyst has said his goodbyes after nine years on Tyneside, during which time he has worked on first-team recruitment, reporting into the manager and head of recruitment Steve Nickson. Metcalfe arrived from Blackburn in 2017 and was well thought of within St James’ Park. He is now due to take up a fresh opportunity with the European champions. His Newcastle role will be filled.

Because when you have no PSR issues, a great established academy, highest wage structure, large multi club model already setup and best manager in the league regularly winning trophies and usually in all four completions come January you tend to find most things aren’t an issue when it comes to signing players in the January window

Don’t think people are talking about him like that. I’m not. The team has done well for him but the team is suffering overall. Hence the debate being a bit too subtle for some on here You can have a 15+ forward and still get relegated for example. The question to me is IS what he lacks (speed, reaction time, strength, hold up play) affecting us and can it be improved. IMO we can improve his strength and hopefully that will lead to better hold up play which would improve us. I just worry that his first instinct is to create rather than score. Very similar to myself when I play and been a fault of mine for many years so can pick up the habits What you want as a CF is someone that worries the CH’s constantly. I personally don’t think he does as they are so far dispossessing him quite easily. Still early days. I just feel those who are fully behind him are those who talk about deep lying no.9 and no.10 positions etc. That to me is no different to what those supposedly criticising him are saying.

Disagree. To me it was the moment/example that separates the haves and have nots regards to striker instincts. Defoe would’ve had that shot off in a heartbeat regardless of age. Maybe muscle memory can be worked on but that born instinct can’t.

Atmosphere was good overall in the Gallowgate, Strawberry Corner playing the main part. Never heard the Man City fans once until a chant of where’s you famous atmosphere which everyone thought was a bit rich from them Heard them when they scored the three goals but very little else. End of the day this thread is pretty much pointless until we get a new stadium and better balance of acoustics and more friends sat together if its just for basing what you can hear and when so I think I’ll make it my last post inside it for a while. Take your focus off the fans sometimes and put it on what they are watching. If your team is struggling to have much of the ball especially in the attacking third or sustain any sort of attacking play as well as not scoring then it’s always going to have its lulls with all the tactical fouling and VAR checks and fake cramp for extra team talks and time wasting and set plays taking forever. It’s killing the spectacle. Wissa scores that early chance and all of these posts from last night probably don’t even get made

I recall it happening for the Liverpool game.
