Yes you are right no one knows exactly what their plans are and even then their plans will of probably been revised with rule changes but they spent £1 billion plus £300 million to buy us after a 2 year campaign/fight so think its safe to say they are here for a long while yet. I think they have much greater patience then many give them credit for.

Been interesting to read everyone’s replies. Was genuinely wondering if I had missed something. Interesting that no one seems to of met him or spoke to him face to face. Speak as you find but came across him in Philadelphia very very briefly and seemed just a normal fan enjoying his hobby as opposed to Adam P who seemed quite aloof though I’ll excuse him as I’m guessing he is a little neurodiverse (like us all) so handles social situations a bit awkwardly. Think TE is retired so just enjoying his hobbie/life post RAF career and not chasing any money. Never find him pretending to know stuff others do. Seems to stick to quite a factual routine of trying to interview people who know better than the average joe to give an informative view on things on the small handful of clips I’ve watched. Never engaged with him or even see him on X. Just the odd YT clip is recommended. I’ve heard his wife is a program seller (?) and she’s apparently been getting a lot of grief about him pre-match. We hadn’t won a home game since early December yet my mates couldn’t get tickets for Wolves and have missed out on West Ham. We’ve always filled the ground pretty much as it is for years without being any good. You’d easily fill a bigger stadium more often than not and don’t forget you could increase the away end also. We aren’t even at the phase when we are attracting some of the best players yet which will be in around 4-5yrs which would probably coincide with the completion of a new stadium.

Why would we have to pay Ashworth up? It’s him asking to leave his contract so surely once he leaves his weekly salary (£28kpw) stops. The rumoured £21m is compensation for the disruption and access to our plans from immediate effect. Ashworth in this instance surely then doesn’t get paid twice both off ourselves and MUFC?

I’ll forgive you as guessing by your handle you are a long suffering fan and expect the worse. However I think you are not grasping the intentions of our new owners. Like I said I appreciate why you may not but things are never going back to the dark days for the foreseeable future. Exhibit A. The new owners have spent the maximum amount of money the league rules are allowing us every window. Exhibit B they’ve overpaid for land to create a temporary fan park. Exhibit C they are doing everything in their power to allow us to spend further. Exhibit D the in depth feasibility studies being carried to expand current/build a new ground so big its beyond your imagination that we could fill it despite us having 30-35k ST holders and 75-90k memberships sold. Don’t base your judgements on a seat sold that’s possibly being touted on a secondary website (email the club and ask the question as I know plenty of friends who will take it as a season ticket). Go and visit Man City and the surrounding area (if you haven’t already) and it will give you some kind of idea what our owners are planning. However let’s say you are right and we are left with a brand new 85K stadium with only 52k in attendance. The acoustics of a new stadium will create a better noise than the current one. This was evident when I attended a MLS game and 2 NUFC pre season friendlies in the USA this summer. 2 out of 3 had the upper bowl empty yet despite the attendance being under 52k (I think the MLS game was only around 20k) the noise retention levels were much greater than at SJP in stadiums far from the peak of design due to their own age but clearly a leap ahead of SJPs in its current form.

There was talk on one podcast that he was possibly homesick. Anyone heard anything on that front? Would find it a little surprising with his parents situation etc. Whatever the situation is it is clear its not as straightforward as it first appeared so maybe there is a loophole we are trying to exploit.
