Out of interest did Favre do a U-Turn on Palace before or after Benitez went to Everton?

I’ve mentioned this before but I find Simon Jordan one of the straightest and most knowledgeable people in the media. You might not always agree with what he says. He might not always be right and maybe he can be guilty of going a bit easy on people he likes. But surely that applies to us all. If you listen to his shows in full rather than the odd sound bite you’d of realised he’s been for the takeover from the beginning. Did he think at one point it was dead? Yes. So did many on here and confidence even dipped with the likes of Steve Wraith & Keith Pattinson along with many others. Never see him as a WUM and he actually goes to lengths in criticising his co host Jim White and the rest of the media for click bait and goading journalism etc along with all the bullshit and parasites that attach themselves to football along with not shying away from criticising fans and their hypocrisy. Also most importantly he’s quick to hold his hands up when he gets it wrong. Just my opinion like but you can tell he learnt a lot from his time owning a club. The good and the bad along with many mistakes he made ?♂️

@Unbelievable Was also down to a lot of hard work by yourself setting things up. Good to see that banner again. Forgotten I’d left it with you as your Christmas present when I visited. Seems so long ago. Dread to think how big your kids are now. 2015? ?

Thought Emil spoke brilliantly personally.

I’m up for going out this afternoon in town depending on when announced as I’ve plans after 6pm in Gateshead. Those plans however involve a pub.

Similar. The last thing I promised to my dad was I’d get rid of Ashley for him. There were times in the campaign I thought we came close to achieving it. As time went on my dad finally succumb and packed in his ST after many decades of support. Ashley had ground him down. The man who would never leave until after the final whistle no matter the score still in hope we could snatch a point from a score line of impossibility some games. That was my dad. He always had hope but that was slowly taken away from him bit by bit and that is the biggest crime that has taken place in my eyes. I’ll always remember @Greg and I struggling to adorn the AshleyOut mobile before we set off to Leicester via Sports Direct HQ. We’d used my parents drive as it was a quiet discrete spot to attach all the banners. After initially trying to leave us to it he couldn’t help himself in his mid 70’s getting involved and climbing up the side of the van to help attach everything safely. You could see the hurt in his eyes of what supporting the club had become but also the pride in his son and friend along with many others on here trying to force some kind of change. A few years later we returned to the EPL with Rafa and I hoped to entice my dad back for a game after years away. It was the Forest Cup game and tickets were purchased as he reluctantly agreed to go as he claimed nothing was going to change long term under Ashley. Unfortunately for me on the day he felt a little under the weather and he instructed me to give up his ticket. Come the end of extra time and penalties I returned home late only to receive a call from my Mam in a panic saying my dad wasn’t right. I dashed round. He wasn’t. I tried to resuscitate him but it was clear he was already dead and the noises my Mam had heard whilst he lay in bed earlier before ringing me was a fatal heart attack. That’s why it was the biggest crime in my eyes. As it would’ve usually took a lot more than a temperature to put him off a match. Even an early round League Cup Game he’d of always of wanted to go but that was taken from him as he was sadly from me about a decade too early in each case. I always wonder the timings and if he’d had the heart attack during the tail end of the game might he of survived with all the medical help and myself on hand to help rather than stuck at home with my Mam who struggled to fathom how to use the phone to ring me. So I’d failed in my promise to get rid of Ashley which always hurts but let’s hope for us all in here and the thousands and thousands of others that hopefully today or any day soon now, we are ALL rid of Ashley even if it is of his own accord. As for that trip to Leicester I proudly held aloft a banner saying “We don’t demand a team that wins, we demand a club that tries!” and that’s all my dad ever wanted too along with us all on here I think. That banner still sits in my outhouse collecting dust. Let’s ALL hope it never needs to be dusted down again. So hopefully this is the last time I’ll need to type or mutter these words… Ashley Out!

With a bit of luck we might have some special forum guests from Croatia travelling to play ????

Will leave as is but no pressure other than others taking the slots. So if a clamour for it I can always ask the question and amend accordingly. Absolutely no hardship ??

Pitch booked 30th Oct. 1x7’s. 10-12. It’s the pitch beside the open car park. The pitch opposite clubhouse balcony is booked on the half hour so you’d have to book 9:30-11:30 or 10:30-12:30. Both still available currently if a change was needed. The Bar adjoining the balcony opens 11am. Don’t mind moving it if it’s that important to watch from balcony rather than pitch side. Just let me know @Yorkie final decision. If we were to move it I’d be tempted with the later of the two as that would flow straight into the 12:30 EPL KO.
-
I’ll pop in today and get pitch sorted. We thinking 7’s for 1x2hrs? 10-12 @Yorkie as don’t think 30min increments are an option.
-
My strong preference is one pitch as I’ve always felt the day is about more than just the football and it would give a chance for those not out on the afternoon for drinks and evening for meal a chance to have a bit of a natter. In the past I’ve always preferred 7’s but looking at the possible numbers it might be more competitive with 4 teams of 5 and have slightly shorter but more games to allow the subs each team have more pitch time. So in short my preference is ONE PITCH > Other than that not as bothered but maybe 4x5’s > 3x7’s @Slim @Yorkie who’s chasing up numbers for Saturday meal? Guessing Slim as Yorkie has enough on his plate and can’t stay the full Saturday. Im arranging a get together for the Friday evening for anyone wanting to eat and a few drinks with The Clique ? Likely to be either around the cheap bars of Newcastle and Chilli Padi or along Low Fell. If you haven’t got me on Facebook or WhatsApp to contact me to confirm feel free to PM but try not to leave it till the last minute so I can book tables ?
-
They probably still wouldn’t precede the age of that fiver you fobbed off on me last time. Still waiting for it to clear my account ?
-
Just something to ponder @Yorkie More than 2 teams need more than 2 GK’s. Never been an issue previously as usually have 2 willing GK’s. Not sure if we have 3 or 4. Might be worth asking the question.

24 you say? Welcome to the Clique… (insert the Mick McCarthy gif)
