I very much doubt that it will be announced over the weekend. If it’s not announced by the end of the business day tomorrow, the earliest it will then be announced will be Monday morning. May 1st is my prediction.

You sure they are mate's? Bent hung him out to dry when he left the mackems. Bent has been on Talksport breakfast/morning slots for a few month now with a slowly increasing presence. My radio alarm is set to it and on in my van when I work normally so pretty much heard him on a weekly now daily basis and when asked about Bruce he sings his praises especially his man management. Blames the SAFC board regarding the Aston Villa move. Was happy to stay but the club wanted the money. Would be nice to hear a player sing the praises of Bruce for his tactical acumen for a change, rather than his man management. Which basically just translates as being a soft touch due to him not really knowing what he's doing. I see the point you are trying to make but don’t fully agree with it. A lot can be said for man mangement. Especially these days with the snowflakes. It’s combining the two obviously is the greatest skill.

Was wondering if we should do one of these but drop the quiz element. Just a general NUFC discussion on current events. Happy to chair it so everyone gets a say and not spoken over if indeed that’s needed. Nothing at all to do with my poor showing in these quizzes

He’s right about Poch. Just not about Bruce but it’s his mate so what else is he going to say.

The question asked was how much do you think the potential new owners will spend not what they could spend. Anyone expecting Man City/Chelsea levels of spending will be in for a disappointment. They’ll not be spending £100m per window Why not? We know nothing about their intentions or policies, other than presuming they want success and positive media coverage both in and off the pitch. It could be 100m, it could be 10m. Because everything that they’ve said so far through the media (steady sensible investment) along with the more researched neutral commentators and journalists (Not a PSG/Man City type scenario) have suggested so for a start. The question was asked. I give my balanced opinion. £100m a window (£200m a season). No chance. I don’t think that they’ve said ANYthing through the media yet, either directly or otherwise. People taking about steady sensible investment are only going off their opinion about FFP and the apparent inability to copy the Man City / Chelsea route. They have. Go check. Nothing official but that’s not how it works until signed. Same question to you. How much do you think they’ll spend per season?

I’d imagine £50m a year. Can’t see it being big money like City or Chelsea back in the their hay day.

We really were in for him weren't we, or was it just Douglas Hall saying who he'd like. Can't remember. We were, it's in Keegan's book and in others. I think it was Freddy Shepherd and Douglas Hall that went over to Turin to talk to Juve about it and basically just got told to fuck off. They went door knocking on a few clubs that trip. Inter for Bergkamp. Lazio for Boksic. Parma for Asprilla. Loved Tino but think we’d of won the league with Boksic the way our team was set up.

I’ve linked the stream in General NUFC if anyone wanting to watch 2nd half.

Didn’t Penn used to be the forum ITK? Or was that just regarding Pardew?

Not looked at the stats but take away their ECL run last season their league form was on a big dip last few months of season and continued into this one. I don’t like lumping all the blame on a manager. Always a too simplistic way of thinking. He knew he needed to re-gen the squad as his top players wanted out as they wanted above the clubs wage ceiling. Starting Kane in the ECL final was daft and wouldn’t of went down well. Spurs in general are run well but zero transfers whilst building the stadium has come back to bite them in the short/medium term. They should’ve rode it out and stuck with Poch. Maybe that was the plan until they found out his people were talking to Man Utd. I like Poch a lot. Like Rafa more though.

Greg[/member] ... Poch or Rafa?

BeIn is tied in with the owner of PSG. They’ve tried before in France to block SA money without success. Case was thrown out.

How many years ago was it when he was carrying the bags on to the Team bus?
-
Well there no one flying in or out of it at the moment so probably as safe a time as any for him to start running it

Well people are only discussing it not demanding it but I’d suggest... Want - Because it be (hopefully) better designed. Bigger and brand new. Think - Because they have a shit load of money and we are the North East so would be relatively cheap and done without interfering playing at SJP whilst doing so. It’s certainly not a priority though.

If we were going to do things properly rather than tack on to the existing this is by far and away the best option. It was only the impatience of SJH&Co who prevented really. If they’d played the long game they’d of got their way. Those that stood in his way were very few locally. Pretty sure they went to Sunderland for most of their signatures. I was (am) a Freeman at the time and they were fully behind it and I’d imagine still would be. Was a trip down memory lane seeing the plans for the new ground as I remember getting a copy in a meeting at the time. The area as a whole would’ve been much nicer but a few old shortsighted few (who are probably dead now) shouted the loudest. Just didn’t think they would’ve had the stomach to shout the longest. Should’ve probably sent KK round their houses TBH. He’d of had them laying the foundations the next morning

Looks like less capacity than the east stand too? Unless it's just me. I’ve been inside it. Lovely ground but that stand isn’t particularly big capacity wise. I’d say less than East Stand comfortably. Love how the away dressing room is under the ultras/standing section. Boca fans jumping up and down attempting to drown out the team talks.

We’ve already got better than Stones at the club.
