  1. I’d certainly cut it. Maybe to 10 initially but 9 would be fun. Think Van Basten suggested it a few year ago. The same van basten that wants rid of the offside law. Wonder how the game would be without it. The fear originally was always goal hanging.
  2. If you are going off total spells then he’s 3rd behind Kruhl & Given but as a snapshot I’d have him top of the pile. Overall he’s the best. Kruhl maybe best shot stopper until injury. Given best 1v1. Dubravka best command of box and distribution. Can hardly fault is shot stopping but a slight blind spot for ones actually hit closer to him.

  5. I remember Jenas got a screamer, Scholes esque. Looking back the media did a job on Dyer’s comments regarding Scholes and his England place prior to the match which Fergie use to good effect, Scholes was world-class that day, a league above anyone on the pitch in terms of his performance. We just fell apart defensively that day, which we were always as capable of doing in any game as much as we were capable of destroying someone under Sir Bobby. It’s remarkable what he achieved in such a short period though given what he inherited and that back line. By then Shearer was no longer world-class and you could say he was our only real top-class player, yet we were so good on our day. If only he had of taken over from KK... we’d have won a title or a cup or two at the least. European glory would have been achievable too. So near, yet so far, the story of NUFC’s entire history from formation to the day ?????? arrived where we stopped being a football club. I seem to recall us having to make some early changes first half or is my memory playing tricks on me? Bellamy/Robert/Solano perhaps.

Their only real mistake was taking the £1m from Bordeaux in the January instead of writing it off and backing him getting them promoted and if need be loose him for nothing.

In fairness the competition past and present didn’t seem very stiff.
  8. It’s brilliant - loved it - thought I was.quite clued up on wor Diego but this added a few extra details to my memory bank - shame they turned on him after 1990 They way they turned on him after 1990 was ridiculous. He was playing for his country FFS. What's he meant to do, miss on purpose? I thought the way they framed that was strange. Fair enough if that's really the reason he was turned on, however it seemed to me his main crime was trying to convince Napoli fans to support Argentina in the run-up to the match Yeah didn’t understand that - especially from the city of Napoli - let’s just forget what he did in the previous 5 years or so for you - you were a nothing club before he arrived Thought Ciro Ferrara came out of it well - really liked him when he was at Juve Neapolitans did not turn on him - I think that bit was badly portrayed in the documentary. He's obviously still deified to this day. I recall at the time they turned on him.

It's only 6 episodes. Is it? My source had it as 8! First season was 8. Enjoyed it but Season 1 was better.

  14. I agree but I think it's the only way they can do it now. Before a vaccine is created, crowds aren't going to be allowed to form and nobody is going to be want to be part of them anyway. I went to Sainsburys today and felt like I was dicing with death, and you could tell everyone else in there felt the same. It's just not going to be possible to go back to any sort of crowd situation pre-vaccine so it's either closed doors or over a year without football. Then go without for a year. Restart in Feb like I said earlier. Don’t know how anyone could watch football without a crowd. Remember when I was young watching Real Madrid v Napoli in (I’m guessing) the UEFA Cup behind closed doors. All these great players and it was awful viewing. Then you had the contrast of the second leg in Naples which was amazing.
  15. Can I just remind everyone Greg[/member] practically runs the NUST
  16. Anything they decide which doesn’t include a crowd is going to be awful. End of.
