Disagreed with Australia v France one, but Peru was a clear penalty imo. He was already slipping before any contact and the contact enough wasn’t enough to foul a player already with no balance. Soon as he felt it he just lifted his leg up as going down.

Surely the response from the government is missing the point. No one is talking about converting full stadiums back to safe standing. Just 10-20% of each one. The point is surely giving those who want to stand the choice.

Shame they were stiched up last minute by the owners of the land that they planned to build their ground on. Would’ve been ideal and a decent catchment area across the road from the Civic Centre.

Probably not a lot as I imagine the event organisers are behind the catering and of course ticketing so perhaps he gets a nominal fee for usage of the stadium? Speaking of SJP as it’s a leasehold, do the council get money from concerts? The City itself will have had a canny little boost, hotels, pubs, restaurants and retail. The big winner is obviously Ed Sheehan and his agent/promotors and the supporting acts getting exposure etc. It’s the Freeman who own the land the council get nothing. And no the Freeman won’t get any benefit from the concerts as the club pay a set figure each year which is usually re-negotiatied depending on what division the club are in.

Although I laughed at him when present for the worst miss I’d ever seen (playing for Villa reserves) I can’t help but like this bloke and he’s done well for himself. Could do with a few more like him in the game TBH.

I honestly don’t see what the problem is. It’s not like there is going to be no option for people to sit. Take SJP for example. Probably a conversion of 10000 to Safe standing would suffice leaving 40000 left for those not wanting to. It’s a simple case. Safe standing is safer than standing where there are seats only. End of. Baffles me these things take so long It’s like Glastonbury or standing gigs at Wembley & SJP don’t exist
