June apparently…

More than I thought I guess I was thinking more on the purchase/attending side of things.

Quite surprised you are. Great news for you. But does make you wonder how many are in POT1 and therefore is there any point to it

I’m not sure we are viewing football that differently. I just don’t think any of those managers tactically evolved significantly. Certainly to no greater extent than Howe has. Ultimately the squads with the best players and highest wages will usually win out more often than not. I’m disappointed Irola has walked away from Bournemouth as a 4 competition season would’ve been a better marker to judge him with as this season it feels he’s only concentrated on the league. Which is understandable after the summer they had. All things considered they’ve had a great league season. What do you think are the mistakes EH keeps making and when?
-
I’d argue the managers you’ve mentioned haven’t evolved. They’ve just been able recycle the squad easier and cover up their mistakes in the transfer market whereas as we haven’t been able too. Seem to recall Howe beat Pep in the league at home this season (?) was robbed of another home victory due to not getting a penalty (Gabriel hand ball) then two defensive injuries late in the game leaving us not as organised as we had been first 85mins leading to two headed goals and probably should’ve at least got a point in the away fixture with Arsenal scoring a screamer from 25 yards and nothing else. We should also of beat Villa first game of the season with Villa happy to hang on at home to a point and we beat them in the Cup away from home. The way you go on it’s as if we are miles off it. We aren’t in reality. Just one of them seasons where we moments have went against us, confidence has been dented, injuries in a small squad at bad times. I’m sure Howe has made some mistakes too but ALL managers do throughout a season. You accept in the league 8th is par for our wage bill though don’t you?

No VAR. Semis at neutral grounds. lowest place team gets home advantage each round.

Three fronts even?
-
Don’t know a lot about Irola. Whats his record like challenging on 4 fronts?

It still amazes me how many on here still haven’t learned how to read EH’s comments and inbetween the lines and the timing of them. How you can come up with we are not wanting a striker is baffling
-
How? You do know we need to sell before we buy right? So until one of them is sold (Gordon clearly looking first out the door) then all the striker positions are filled. Also the last thing you do is make everyone aware that you are desperate for striker. As otherwise you’ll have a repeat of last summer.
-
Correct. The reason for that is in part because the 70K one is bigger footprint .
-
Would imagine the leaked designs are the original 65k plans and the ones they’ve agreed not to publish are the 70k final designs.

Was there with him. Good times

We are going to be wearing pink next season.

Thought so. Good time to look at African players perhaps if all tournaments moving to our summers (?) I know after 2028 the next one not until 2032.

We’ve become much worse defensively because our forward line is not functioning and to a lesser extent midfield therefore find ourselves under pressure more. Also Burn who’s been a success is a few years older which plays a part along with Botman not looking the same since injury. Then we come to the FB’s. On the left we’ve had to play Burn and Hall due to injuries and inconsistent form possibly even Trippier one game (?) with Tino. On the right we’ve had Trippier, Tino, Miley and Hall filling in either ageing, injured or out of position. Then we come to the GK position. Where for the first time under EH we’ve moved from having a clear No.1 with both playing 50/50 spells in/out/in/out. So with all the above considered I think you and others are being extremely harsh on Thiaw especially it being his first season in the league and was clearly overplayed physically by not being able to rotate him for nearly 40 games in a row! Thiaw has clearly been a success in the defence. Even offensively he’s looked the most dangerous of our defenders.
-
You don’t even agree he’s been a success. He clearly has been.

The young Ghanaian lad from Leicester if we can squeeze them whilst they are desperate for money would be a smart move. As would’ve BEK last summer in the same situation. When’s the next AFCON?

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

That was my first thought too. Wouldn’t mind if we did play there a couple of seasons. Midweek games maybe not as much fun! -
Not for me. Expensive. Would question his hunger. Not even that strong or quick. Would be left with the same problem as we have now.

Twice.
