  1. I remember one good performance from him in the Prem (Chelsea). Forrest look like they could do massively with an energetic DM like.
  2. I cannot think of a cleaner striker of the ball from range in our squad tbh?
  3. They've probably been playing great football for most of last year, and then you see teams like Brentford occasionally coming up and smashing Chelsea 4-1 at Stamford Bridge It's fair enough for them to be optimistic of the same kind of impact like, especially as most clearly haven't watched too much of the Premiership (I never either when we were down there), a year ago they would have probably played us off the park in this same fixture
  4. Aye, I love Rafa but football has moved on a lot since then like He's clearly no longer an elite manager, and as much as I appreciate having him here I'm glad he was never in contention to come back.
  5. Good commentary here (outside of NUFC TV). I probably need to do something else on my Saturday morning now instead of consuming NUFC v NFFC content I'm much more productive when we lose.
  6. https://www.forestforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/official-premier-league-matchday-thread-1-newcastle-vs-forest-6-8-22-1500h.50574/page-44 They seem sound, after the initial mental optimism
  7. I think they'll do alright once they adjust a bit. We we're probably the worst place to come to at the minute (outside of the obvious; Anfield, Etihad, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium). A team who are not going to be particularly great on the ball at this level (yet anyway) and used to playing out from the back, are going to be like a deer in the headlights against relentless off the ball pressure. They made a load of unforced errors too. Think the plan was probably for them to play a 3-4-3 and be in the game more but they dropped to 5 at the back pretty quickly. Steve Cooper seems a good, modern manager, I think he'll learn quick.
  8. Aye, the obvious moment that stood out was his throw to Maxi after collecting a high ball. He absolutely bolted out as soon as he grabbed it and launched a fast, flat ball within a second or two. It should be even more prominent when teams come at us more and we have space on the break. It's been pointed out on here but Debravka has a habit of running to the end of his box and shrugging his shoulders.
  9. Aye, I love Anderson but he did similar for Bruno's backheel iirc. Maybe it's a bit harder to appreciate a technically brilliant goal in real time when you're trying to commentate on it or something, fuck knows. It was better than Schar's before it imo, it still seems outrageous he tried it.
  10. Nobody else foaming with the MotD commentary for his goal? Just pinged in the goal of the weekend (arguably bettered by Wilson a few minutes later) and you'd have thought it had been deflected out for a corner.
  11. Aye I know when you mean, I was convinced Brennan Johnson (I think it was) had him done but he made it look easy.
  12. That's just the brains defence mechanisms kicking in after a traumatic event. What Bruno did to them was akin to them walking in on their daughter being blasted by The Great Khali.
  13. He needs to sign up on an alt account in a couple month if he's trying to scrub his digital footprint
  14. Would be nice if NUFC TV could upload videos in actual HD like
  15. Moment of the match was Colback trying to challenge him on 20 minutes and just falling over as Big Joe casually turned inside. EDIT: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001b11h/match-of-the-day-202223-06082022 32:00 it's very, very satisfying to watch.
  16. I love it, it's the best football to watch imo and in the modern game it's very effective. It seems so obvious too, but it's obviously a lot harder to properly implament than it seems otherwise more managers would be doing to the same level. Like most managers wouldn't have seen Joe Willock as a counter pressing machine 7-8 month ago but here we are
  17. Steve Copper is probably just Buscemi character acting a nonce from Cardiff.
  18. We did this second half at Tottenham and got absolutely eviscerated.
  19. I don't think I've ever been more confident of winning in my life than against Forest at SJP, there was just no way they were going to be able to keep hold of the ball well enough to do anything. Brighton are one of the teams who are more suited to us though, they'll be able to play through our press a lot better than most teams. Hopefully they've turned to shit since the end of the season.
  20. 10th 5th round 4th round I'm not taking minimum expectations to be "EDDIE OUT" or anything, but I think anything less than 10th would be a pretty disappointing season on the pitch. The cups are weird because we could get unlucky in the draw, but as long as we're knocked out by a team in the Premiership I don't think I could really complain.
  21. What's up with West Ham like, I assumed they would be buzzing?
  22. couple of mad ones like. In fairness if a Brentford fan was similarly optimistic a year ago they'd have been laughed at, but they actually turned out to have a few decent players.
