I mean you can call it what you want but anything that inherently has a probability attatched to it requires a degree of luck. Which is what Conjo is getting at I think. The lower the probability the greater the 'luck'. It's just silly for anyone (like the Southampton fans who have apparently said this) to single out particular goals as being 'lucky' when the player has pulled off what they attempted, as they would have to concede that pretty much all of their own speculative goals are also lucky. It's semantics but 'lucky' is usually only applied to players scoring from a misshit, or something out of their control. That is technically wrong though.

Fuck knows, it's true though isn't it

Outside of sitters every goal is luck (and even then there's an element of luck). No footballer ever has had the ability to perfectly connect with a ball and place it exactly where they want it at all times Literally every single one of Ward-Prowse's free kicks have essentially been lucky. The better you are at something just improves the odds of pulling it off.

Someome needs to get onto the Saints forums to compile the inevitable fune over the goal scorers -

Nice little cheeky pass inside from Bruno to start it off early on. Great ball from Shelvey though. -

Been like the Leicester performance so far. Very pedestrian. -

Aye think it was KI that mentioned him and I've been watching his videos since. He's a breath of fresh air from them 'Fanzine' types who I'd become accustomed to. -
Said it before like but he must absolutely hate match days.

That looked a blatant red like? -
I wouldn't put Spurs amongst the other lot like, and Chelsea have a lot of global appeal now. I can see the top 6 expanding but I think it would take some catastrophic mismanagement for them to revert back to a consistent mid/lower-mid table side.

I'd be surprised if he'd pulled a sicky to go off and pretend to be a wizard in France like.

Pirlo will be getting called The Maned Shelvey in a few years time.

Somehow the music the use on these compilations is getting worse. Unlistenable that.

Again, I have no idea how you can claim this like. Howe has made plenty decisions which looked weird but have turned out to be bang on. Nothing is crystal clear from the outside looking in. We don't know what he's been planning with Bruno or the rest of the squad.
-
It would hardly be 'absolute madness' to start Bruno like. Although I agree he shouldn't just be brought in for the sake of it.
-
Aye I know which one you mean. I actually thought he'd mishit it because I'm not used to seeing our players play it into space like that
-
Said last week that I thought he looked pretty one note going forward, with him floating everything into the box, but last night was a different story. He mixed it up a bit and even had a few cracks at goal. Howe obviously saw something in him that others hadn't. I'd definitely sign him permanently.

Aye that had me confused for a second -
I get it but even just switching play effectively can be huge if you're set up right, not everything in football has to be some outrageous, defence splitting wonder ball. Pressing, one of the most effective tools in modern football, requiring virtually no actual skill with the ball, is another example of this. It's the same with Henderson under Klopp who has been vital for years despite everyone calling him shite (Henderson is obviously better than Shelvey I know).
-
You would have thought he was left footed looking at the MotD highlights.
-
Just seen that incident like, absolutely outrageous decision What is the point of even having rules?
