  1. Checked he was there a year with Rafa, for some reason I never thought Rafa completed his final season with Liverpool. Where did he play for them if anyone can remember?
  2. Aquilani was a good player like, he would have only been there a short time before Rafa walked wouldn't he?
  3. Was there not more to the Barry/Alonso situation? Sure it's been mentioned on here before but I might be wrong.
  4. Never realised statto had went down, it was really handy. Any reason why?
  5. Easy to cheat on this like, which is a shame
  6. Might have to move to them after Bet365 fucked me of with their invite only in-play offers the cunts.
  7. We saw last season how fucked we were with a couple of injuries. Gayle gets injured and we're fucked.
  8. I don't fwiw, history tells us he refuses to do this among other things and we get relegated within half a decade. I'm arguing that his method is stupid and in no means necessarily like some would have you believe.
  9. But aye, Mike's past record with us definitely suggests we should trust him, I'm sorry.
  10. We NEED to sell because we've got far too many players...far more than you can register. No club in the country would continue buying players without shifting their deadwood. We are no different in that respect. We are very different in other respects like, but shifting players on before we bloat the squad even more is massively important. so naive man. How many players do Chelsea have, about 40 thousand or something int it? Loan shite like Haidara out and pay half of their wages if we have to. How is that naïve? It's absolutely right, and probably the reason Rafa isn't kicking off. He knows the squad needs to be trimmed. It's easy enough to say we should be doing these deals as favours to other clubs, but if there's interest there for a permanent deal, then why not explore that option? The squad needs to be trimmed, it also desperately needs another 4 or 5 players of Premiership quality. I'll let you decide which is more important. Well that certainly strikes me as the more naïve perspective on managing the squad. I think it's obvious that Rafa is of the more sensible opinion. I doubt Rafa is of the opinion that shite players we have no intention of playing but cannot easily get rid of should be standing in the way of him building an actual squad capable of challenging in the Premiership like. We're probably making a decent loss on Haidara and co, we have to just accept it. Risking a relegation scrap in fear of going into the red just seems utterly moronic to me.
  11. Unless I'm missing something, the only way we could go out and spend money we don't yet have in the bank is if Ashley loaned the club more. Obviously I think he should given the circumstances, but the club itself likely doesn't have the capital to do what we want them to do. Trouble is i don't particularly believe him maybe i'm naive though. Even if it's 100% correct him loaning us the money to improve the squad makes far more sense than going into a season short. You can make up £20m in football piss easy if you're not fucking about.

How many players do Chelsea have, about 40 thousand or something int it? Loan s**** like Haidara out and pay half of their wages if we have to. Chelsea can afford, and are willing to keep paying them. We, and most teams outside of the top 4, are not. It's not rocket science. Or right, so we'll fix our past mistakes by just not fixing them. Sound like a cracking plan. You have a really rigid way of viewing the transfer market like, there's literally nothing stopping us from spending the ~£30m or so we need on 4 or 5 players, accepting a small loss on Haidara and co and making it up in the future with TV deals of a Sissoko/Cabaye like sale. We're not playing footy manager.

  15. It's absolutely fucking ridiculous that we're raising money first like. Buy our first choice players and then try and rake some back with sales if we can, if we can't then just take the £20m or so off our next budget.
  16. Criticize him all you want, call him a snake or a soul-less money grabber, but you must look at the full picture and recognize his struggle. I'm assuming I don't have to read anymore
  17. I like how we all secretly love absolutely mental shite like this
  18. It depends how. Obviously you're right if we play shit and end up battling all season. Different matter if we play quite well and lose a few at the end. We'd have to lose about 10 in a row like what happened with Carver though (after Pardew started poorly, then went on a good run). To finish on around 40 points you have to be pretty terrible for most of the season. I get 'survival is key' but a season of being bummed most weeks starts to wear on you after a while.
  19. I hope Dummett stays as our first choice LB for the rest of his life just to annoy the Dummephobes.
  20. I can guarantee everyone will be foaming if we just survive like, we've been through a few of those seasons and they're absolutely horrendous.
  21. We can have a really decent side with a few more additions like, it's going to be so fucking irritating if we go into the season without spending the extra £30-40m that we need. Wolfsberg literally never tried like, they couldn't even be arsed to play the offside trap
  22. That was Manquillo? Thought it was Ritchie, never expected that sort of ball from him, fair play. Hopefully this wasn't his Danny Simpson vs Benfica moment.
  23. Is that Sport1 Youtube link Fugazi put up meant to be frozen? edit: aye
