Think we're massively underestimating the effect of a manager when we're accepting 13 points from 20 games as a good job regardless of the circumstances like. That includes a really decent opening to the season too (winning their first 2 games, so 7 points in 18 games really).

He might score a hatrick, he might be shite. We'll see. Just cannot see the disappointment with starting our 2nd choice striker. -

Struggling to believe how much this conversation has been warped within one page like Mitrovic starting is fine and if we play well he'll get chances to score. -

No one's saying build him a statue - you know that though. You're arguing that we don't play to his strengths, I think that's canny daft personally like. He's a centre forward playing up top in a side that controls possession and creates chances. -

? Guaranteed we won't play to his strengths. Like when we started him a couple of times the last time and he scored 4? -
That was the Tchoyi hatrick wasn't it? Hilarious game.

Seems a fairly promising young manager though.

From his Wiki: He led the club to the third place in the championship, also winning the Taça de Portugal by beating S.C. Braga 3–1 on penalties after a 2–2 draw in the final. This was Sporting's first piece of silverware since the 2008 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira. On 4 June 2015, four days after winning the trophy, Sporting announced that Silva had been sacked with just cause, for not wearing the club's official suit in a cup match against F.C. Vizela.

Comfortably more organised than Hull who we failed to beat in the league cup? Aye, Hull were organised like. We controlled the game but, like Blackburn, they limited our chances well. we were literally 1 Sels mistake away from winning that match, ffs. So Hull weren't organised and didn't limit our chances? They defended well the whole game, we were probably the better side and the conditions helped them I thought, but I don't think we looked comfortably more organised than them.

It happened during the Pardew years too on here, which is why some may react too harshly at times. The need 'to bring balance' to the debate happened a lot back then and negated slightly what should have been utter contempt for the manager. I suppose the opposite is happening now, where we've went from letting nothing slide to letting everything slide - back then knowing that the manager wasn't right but this time knowing he is. Caulkin again smashes it out the park.

We've been shite in just about every game Sky has shown tbh.
-
Wasn't Smith just an average forward overhyped to death becuase Leeds did fairly well at the time. Viduka was better and he was hardly a worldbeater. Like turning Kevin Doyle into a defensive midfielder and being surprised when he turns out to be the worst footballer ever.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

On the radio it sounded like they only had 2 half chances near the end - highlights never showed much from them either. EDIT: They sounded the better team like, I'm on-about us outright being battered/winning due to the referee though. I don't think we've comfortably been the better side in every win this season. -

I cannot think of any viable reason for throwing the FA Cup like. We've had a patchy run of form, we'll get over it. Please don't lose on purpose -

I cannot remember a single moment of that game where our backs were against the wall like. EDIT: From what I've seen the only game we've won which we blatantly didn't deserve was Preston tbh (mainly because of their penalty shout and hitting the post 2 seconds later). Rotherham was sketchy but that was our own doing. -
I think he's class tbh I hate most referees when they're in charge of our games like.

I think that's sensible enough like. This bit in particular rings true with me: "And its working here, albeit not to everyone's taste and I include myself in that. I don't like his tactics, his game plan or our style of play. I think we are making hard work of many a fixture and should not be losing the number of games we are. If only he would change things a bit... two up front maybe? Less holding midfielders maybe? Earlier changes maybe? More game time for Mitrovic maybe? Lots of maybes... Would we be any better off? Probably not and this is where we need to look at our manager and decide whether we trust him or not. Me personally I trust him 100%." I thought we were fairly poor yesterday despite the stats, and have thought that for a few games this season. He definitely could have done better in individual games if he was more flexible I imagine, but I just have to accept the rough with the smooth knowing that he has a reason for doing what he does and that doing what he does actually has us looking very good for promotion - in 2nd place. Looking back in hindsight we cannot ignore the wins he has us and only question why he didn't do X,Y or Z after defeats. I really want to win the league and I think we still will.

I wish I could find the video/gif of him running up the pitch on the counter before deliberately slowing down and then hiding behind a defender, it's absolutely hilarious. Cannot remember the game, but it was 'Shelvey letting play go by for Swansea' levels of bad.

Walking into a Semi-Final

I actually started to come round to him but yesterday was on another level. Obviously if I'm to be objective Shelvey not being in the side is the main reason for this, but then he goes and barges a player over on the edge of the box for no apparent reason. I hope he never plays again.
-
Post against Preston in the cup too was good play. He's obviously not a young Yaya Toure but I think he has a lot more to him than just playing the enforcer - just still nowhere near enough that we can afford to have him in a partnership with Colback.
-
Still got an 80% pass rate over the season too according to WhoScored, fairly decent. I really like him and actually thought he looked good yesterday, he just cannot replace Shelvey.

It's the 3rd or 4th time you've completely ignored an entire debate within a thread and posted purely to tell me I'm a cunt. Either I'm just incredibly unlucky, you hold some kind of grudge over something I've said (general ego centrism which flows through a lot of your posts and the back-peddling ones that often follow), or I am just a cunt. Whatever the reason I find it incredibly boring.

I deleted it because instead of editing because I cannot really be bothered. Your weird obsession with me is doing my head in though, please fuck off
