  1. Once someone decides a player is shite that's it, no going back for them. Like that Rage Virus on 28 Days Later.
  2. He is still young like, I think he'll get a few chances this season if and when Gayle's form tails off a bit. Should start the cups too.
  3. Could have spent that money elsewhere. £4m on a young player with his career ahead of him rather than this donkey. We paid less for Haydens didn't we? Would Anichebe or Bentenar on a free be a worse idea than dropping millions on Murphy? Ideally you'd want that young player getting minutes though, not sitting on the bench. Easy to forget Murphy, Jesus etc were signed for the dressing room as much as anything else too, we have a fairly young squad.
  4. Assuming Rafa wants to keep everyone fresh, then this is the game you would expect him to leave Gayle out I would have thought. Just think he'll find it hard to drop someone who's got 9 in 12, it seems pretty risky. I don't know why I'm trying to 2nd guess him though
  5. I love Rafa more than my mam like.
  6. They just love arguing like, it's weird. Same as the ones who kick off when people candidly talk about 'male' and 'female' jobs. It's never the lass who's a brickie, because she's knocking a block of flats up somewhere and not sitting on This Morning barking on about pointless semantics.
  7. You are innocent unless proven guilty. It is irrelevant that Evans was unable to prove he didn't do it; the law does not require him to do so to be deemed innocent. You don't get to be like "eh, yeah he was acquitted but he's probably guilty anyway." His exoneration should be taken at face value. (That doesn't justify the bullshit some people are piling on his accuser, of course.) Wrong. You are presumed innocent, not proved innocent. this is what I was trying to argue after the original trial. It's ludicrous to me that people view cases like these things in such a black & white manner. If found guilty/innocent you should retrospectively serve your time/be exonerated. That's how the legal system has to work, but I'm not going to sit here and be like "Ched Evans 100% raped someone" or "Ched Evans 100% didn't rape someone" based on a verdict brought on by opinion based evidence and clear guess work.
  8. I think it was just a general comment on his exsistance.
  9. He did amusing interviews about a decade ago and is still treat like royalty because of it.
  10. Spent the game trying to throw the Liverpool defenders out of his way so he didn't have to jump.
  11. De Gea getting down as well as Harper there.
  12. Never heard someone struggle to string sentances together more than Robbie Earle tonight like. Edit: Is there something the matter with him? Sounds as if he's had a stroke.
  13. I love the early rounds like, usually lose interest unless a massive outsider reaches the final, like Wigan or Pompey.
  14. Hartlepool's nowhere near Newcastle In time taken, Hartlepool to Sunderland is just as far as Altrincham to Manchester. Hartlepool is also a relatively small club (like Altrincham) and Sunderland/Newcastle/Boro are the biggest teams near to Hartlepool. Therefore, by the logic of "he lives close to Manchester, so he has some sort of feelings towards Man Utd" - the ref from Hartlepool should have some feelings towards Sunderland and never have ref'd our match. I'm not saying it's right that he's been given this match, I just think it's ludicrous that people would go so over the top when his performances have never been bought into question when refereeing a Man Utd match and he has absolutely no feelings towards either club. The logic is more that with Altrincham FC being so small and the city of Manchester being so close (a lot closer than any other major footballing town/city) that it's likely there's heavy support for them in the area. He likely grew up with Man Utd supporting friends, went out in Manchester growing etc. Hartlepool has pretty much no connection to Newcastle or Sunderland. Middlesbrough - which is further away - has a bit though through it being the '2nd' derby. You're right in that it's hard to draw lines and I could be way off about people from Altrincham, they may be collectively apathetic about the Manchester sides.
  15. The derby match? You got a link I cannot see it? EDIT: Found it! maybe should have checked the offers page http://www.coral.co.uk/sports/offers
  16. The derby match? You got a link I cannot see it?
  17. It's like saying should a referee from Blyth, Ashington or Hexham be reffing a Newcastle game though. I don't know if they'd be allowed or not given they specify supporting someone else, but I would find it a bit odd (and they're not even in the same county). Again, I'm not bothered by it, I can just see why it would cause a stir when people pick up on it as it's pretty hard to believe he doesn't have feelings towards them.
  18. Hartlepool is massively different like (to Whitley Bay anyway), it's a completely different area. I obviously don't know what it's like in Altrincham but I can imagine it's a pretty big Man Utd/Man City hotbed.
  19. And? It is a bit odd though and if he does fuck up people will obviously be looking at his background. I'm not even necessarily against it, I just agree with Joey that it brings unnecessary attention.
  20. Altrincham is a small town with a semi-pro football club 8 mile away from Manchester city centre, I imagine it would be pretty hard not to have feelings - whether good or bad like. Like a supporter of Whitley Bay FC reffing a Newcastle/Sunderland game.
  21. 12 games into a season. Pointless signing. What a time to be alive.
  22. I'd be surprised if Gayle doesn't start every game possible like.
