I'd take McCarthy any day of the week like He's the kind of player we want in rotation if we get back into the Premiership too although it sounds like he wants to be playing every game.

If we are going off yesterday's team then Shelvey imo, McCarthy and Hayden plus two forwards would be class imo. Shelvey was the best player on the park. I like McCarthy but he's basically the midfielder Colback wants to be, I wouldn't be dropping Shelvey for him if he can play like that often enough, we need him.

McCarthy would replace Hayden (you would hope) not Sissoko. Sissoko would be competing with Perez, Diame, Ritchie and Shelvey.

No Anita on the wings, only 1 defensive midfielfer (who actually has a bit about him) and Shelvey pushed forward. He sorted it out quick like, hope it stays more the same away from home too.
