Wullie isn't making theoretical arguments based around some utopian future though. If there's a tangible reason to prefer a man over a woman then it isn't necessarily mysogyny. It's just sophistry to imply that someone doesn't care about gender in sports because "if things were equal I wouldn't care". The fact things aren't equal are why we prefer men's football. The fact female commentators clearly differ in their style to men is why some people will prefer men. This isn't something that person needs to work on. I haven’t read 40 pages of this argument, so fair enough if I've missed a load of mental nonsense and I'm jumping in on the 'wrong side', but where we seem to be at the minute is "prefering male commentators is mysogynistic" which is just daft.
-
It comes with the territory of them having a much harder ride than men in their profession, but it's pretty obvious a lot of women in these jobs feel an expectancy to perform which comes across awkwardly. I hate probably most commentators as I find them cringey and mawkish, so I honestly couldn't care less who's talking, but there is an obvious difference in male and female commentators, and I can see how someone would prefer the classic (but shite), sickly style of a Drury or Motson, and why they would perceive women to be shite (The BBC pushing Oakley out the door at the start probably played a big part in that.)

@Dr Venkmanis trying to work backwards towards a progressive view. It's obviously forced, hence how weird this conversation is getting.
-
So what is it then? He can be infuriated as he likes, people cannot just make nonsensical arguments because they sound good man. We all prefer gendered things of various colours, it's not misogynistic and it doesn't need addressing. Keegan's commenta are clearly misogynistic.

Wht would you need therapy for prefering mens football to womens?

Good that, explains Enrique's plan better than "lol 4 up top what a shit cunt" too. -
The beligerant sexist in me wanted to absolutely hate that video but it's really good from a neutral. More of this stuff instead of the antagonistic clickbait.

Tbf with Liverpool it actually does a bit I do feel there's a level of weirdness with their perception of a unique morality, and their inability to give any praise at all. Everton get OTT jip on here but I think most people accepted their crowd against us were fantistic when they shithoused that 1-0. -

If you couldn't enjoy the result anymore, here's Alan Pardew, now Newcastle's biggest fan, furiously masurbating over the result. EDIT: Already posted -
I mean this is different like, everyone has been shafted by VAR but I would be wanting a rematch if this happened to us It being Liverpool adds another element to it, so people aren't as sympathetic as they would be to most other teams I think, but it is outrageous.
-
It's not the VAR's fault like, he's made a mistake but the inability to do anything about it is squarely on PMGOL. It's obviously a process they've tried to streamline to limit delays, they sound stressed to bits in that clip
-
One for @Deuce's Shrewsbury Lion that
-
and they just didn't think to have a contingency plan for this kind of thing?
-
I mean it's awful craic, but locking people up after the fact for singing Munich songs seems slightly unhinged
-
Again though the solution is obvious, remove the reasonable doubt nonsense and sub VAR out to a 3rd party unrelated to PGMOL.
-
Referees and linesmen will subconsciously make decisions with the knowledge of a safety net, so any time VAR fucks up there's a chance that decision would have actually been correct had VAR not existed.
-
I cannot even enjoy stuff like this tbh It'll not be long before it happens to us again. Hopefully with it being Liverpool being blatantly shafted the refs will be forced to actually do something.

Looked like he got his foot on the top of the ball on the first replay. It was a quick call though so maybe not.
-
Looked a fantastic challenge?
-
He held his hamstring as soon as he came on.
-
Worst performance of the season? No major calls wrong, just consistently wrong.
