Looking seriously like the worst football transfer of all time!

This is like Apocalypse Now but with Roflcopters!

Champagne football!

Class from HBA! Class from Cisse! Howay the Lads!

It was noticeable that both assists came with him on the left. It seems like Pardew has never trusted him as a team player, but he's been putting him on the right where he's far more likely to cut in and shoot. I feel that this only led to a vicious circle of him then being dismissed as selfish and confirming any prejudices Pardew has had against him. He's scored numerous times from the right recently, and in some games has been our major goal threat, so I'm not dissing him or him in that position. I just think it has been bad management to play him there and never on the left given his need to overcome the doubts over his overall contribution. If we're thinking of getting in another attacking player, it might be a good idea to look at someone who can drift right. Just as an option that is. I think Obertan has had enough chances now.

When Ba hit that shot into the ground that bounced over a couple of minutes after kickoff, Cabaye was stood pretty much in front of Foster and would have got any rebound. I don't think I've seen him that far forward all season.

Yesterday was more about non 4-4-2 than the combination of players in our midfield. Would Tiote in for Guthrie with the same orders have made such a difference?
-
See this one out and those two dropped points to Wolves and the lost point at Arsenal would have had us two points behind Spurs for fourth.
-
Great to see Ben Arfa popping up on the left. It should have happened more often earlier in the season.
-
Yes, that's what I meant. One of the front 3 but with no special "role", like he'd be free to move where he wants and find space... He hit the post against Citeh and won a pen at OT floating about in the middle. It wasn't enough to get him in the team though.

More than anything that photo shows Guthrie having stopped. The final error in that chain of errors.

Perchie did well aye. Part of their joy down our left was from a strong and positive first half from Sagna. He's class. Possibly they were set up to attack that side and drag Colo out, leaving Williamson on van Persie. That's how they scored anyway. They didn't seem so intent on attacking Simpson with Chamberlain, a just as tasty 1 vs. 1.

Never five minutes in a million years but that was very naive dropped bollock at the end there. As someone suggested, even after giving them the ball, someone should have taken a yellow to stop the break. For all the latest media kneejerk lovefest for Arsenal, Liverpool did outplay them at Anfield, so it would have been nice to have not sat back so much in the second half. Obertan again showed why he shouldn't be picked ahead of HBA as he was for many games.

Some quality ballwatching there from Citeh.

That's a superb stat will be using that against the bin-dippers on Sunday. PS: Superb title edit Before that Arsenal own goal, Downing was on no league goals and one assist per ten games. That's the same as Christian Poulsen, Woy's most pilloried signing who cost one quarter of the price.

As for Liverpool yesterday, it wasn't a question of bad finishing this week. They didn't create any chances!
-
He still seems to overplay it in dangerous areas and gets caught out now and again. Great player though. What might have been.
-
i'd rather they stopped up than wolves. With Venky's and Kean such a comic shambles and their own fans against them, I must say I've come to quite like them. A bit like Chelsea in the CL final when they all wanted Avram Grant out. I'd much rather Mark Hughes relegated the richest promoted club.
-
Romain? Lettuce see how this one plays out....
-
Maybe an obvious comment, but I think it helps him to have a threat (i.e., HBA) on the other side. The defence can just rotate to his side if he's the main out-ball.

He made a meal of it, but so did the mackem that got Cabaye booked for what looked like minimal contact. In fact so do many players who get any kind of challenge at all. Its all very cringeworthy. It's ridiculous for any pundit to be focusing on gamesmanship by someone who has been punched just after Arsenal have conceded two penalties in two weeks from players who went down without being touched at all. All Tiote did was highlight an offence that was already a red card. Bale and Suarez got penalties when there was no foul. That is a much higher level of cheating.
