  1. Might've appeared less of a hatchet piece if it had also taken a panel to discuss the scandal Standard Chartered has been embroiled in, or maybe the FSG links to US Arms firms too. But as it is itā€™s just nuance-less.
  2. They looked leggy against us to be fair, itā€™s just we had a Callum "Iā€™m running in treacle today lads" Wilson up front, who couldnā€™t capitalise
  3. Obviously I want that too, all Iā€™m saying is I want to see us actually compete in a final, which is something Iā€™m yet to see this club do in my lifetime. So them even managing that would be progress in my eyes
  4. Just fucking turn up and give a good account of yourselves, if youā€™re beaten by the better team on the day so be it. But donā€™t meekly surrender HWTL šŸ‘
  5. Not even sure it was that tbh, was more a case of once Man City threw their chequebook on the table we were fucked
  6. Aye and typically the format changes the year after, which wouldā€™ve meant weā€™d have made more money if we'd qualified this year instead of last. Itā€™s just bad luck on the clubs part, overachieving CL qualification early IMO
  7. That was utter idiocy, spend some time mentalising how much youā€™ve let yourself and your teammates down with that petulance Anthony
  8. And as Iā€™ve just said the fact that those 17 year old fans live in a North East, that looks like it does now is a direct result of things that happened in the early ā€˜80ā€™s, therefore is it so wild for those resentments to still exist? Especially if like many from the area, their parents or grandparents that they still have daily contact with mention it frequently. God forbid that 17 year olds understand their local history and why theyā€™re disadvantaged compared to others in the same country. The Nottingham bit rankles with me on another level too, my first job was as a lab technician for a Pharmaceutical subsidiary of BASF who had a plant in Cramlington. This was largely made possible by EU subsidy, but most of those in the good jobs were merely transplanted from their sister plant in Nottingham, with only entry level positions or plant work offered to locals, so they kept taking the piss even in the late 90ā€™s
  9. Speak for yourself, I"m the son of a miner who was alive during it. And regardless if your were born or not at the time, if youā€™re from the North East youā€™ve lived through the direct consequences
  10. As someone who used to volunteer for Trailblazers https://www.trailblazersmentoring.org.uk and did a placement in Peterhead jail during my MH Nursing degree, Iā€™d really have to suggest you refine your search criteria in AirBNB if theyā€™re anything like a U.K. jail. Honestly wish people would actually volunteer to help in these places rather than take bollocks written in the Mail at face value, as jails are yet another thing that have seen insufficient public investment for the past several decades. Theyā€™re overcrowded, filthy and falling apart and lots of the education and rehabilitation is almost non-existent and often reliant an charities such as Trailblazers. Yet another case of being too tight to invest the relatively small amount in terms of staff, to try to prevent reoffending (or better yet stop offending before it starts with the youth outreach programs etc) but quite happy to pay the vast quantities to keep people locked up and stuck in cycles of repeat incarceration.
  11. Very true, I guess youā€™ve not seen whatā€™s happening to any public official who has criticised Musk recently then. I guess the fact that the direction of travel in Saudi Arabia is towards being more open and progressive even if not at the speed lots would like, as opposed to the apparent "Leaders of the Free World" TM sleepwalking into an Authoritarian nightmare is why it shocks and annoys more
  12. Think Trump and his forces undertake extra-judicial murder on a daily basis, itā€™s just called a targeted drone strike or Special Ops mission. Heck our own SAS are currently under investigation for the brutal murder of civilians. How many journalists have Israel vaporised in the last 18 months? Thereā€™s not much I agree with Peter Hitchens on, but focussing on one specific type of murder whilst being oblivious or ambivalent to others is daft. (Was an interview at the time of the Syria gas attacks and the point he made was if you set that as your redline, youā€™ve effectively given every dictator free rein to murder their people as long as they stick to conventional weapons)
  13. Im not to up to date on cloning these days, but surely itā€™d be 20 odd year until the clone Botman was ready to start games?
  14. They couldnā€™t directly funnel money in, but they could dramatically increase sponsorships from related parties, which would increase our spending power significantly. This would not be prohibited by UEFA's squad cost ratio rules
  15. Our route to the final two years ago was hardly arduous, but last year was horrific. At least weā€™ve managed some home draws this year
  16. After the three finals in recent memory, I just want us to give a good account of ourselves rather than meekly surrendering. Obviously would prefer us to win, but if we do get beat at least go down fighting
  17. Ah the right wing comedian, that makes Michael McIntyre look fucking hilarious by comparison šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø the bloke is about as funny as rectal cancer
  18. Neither do Chelsea, I'd argue Iā€™ve never seen a Spurs top anywhere during my global travels and Arsenal is only really big In West Africa. To be honest the only English clubs with real international reach are Man Utd and Liverpool. Give it another decade of shite and Iā€™d imagine a lot of the plastic international Man Utd fans will happily switch allegiance too
  19. Thereā€™s also a real possibility that we did go in for some of these players, but Bournemouth could guarantee them first team football, something that we couldnā€™t do.
  20. Yeah, surely anyone who has seen this stuff wouldā€™ve been NDA'd up to the gills.
  21. How many players currently on the payroll have contracts that expire in the summer? Lascelles, Wilson, Krafth, Schar. Weā€™re about to sell Miggy, possibly Kelly before the window shuts and I wouldnā€™t be surprised if Longstaff is sold in the summer. Plus as others have said we may also increase our revenue too particularly if we qualify for European football. I donā€™t think itā€™s quite the doomsday situation youā€™re painting
  22. Doesnā€™t back off far enough for you I take it Alan šŸ¤£
  23. Both him and Hall have been guilty of this in recent weeks. I know itā€™s decades since I played football at any decent level, but when playing as a defender I was always told never let the ball bounce, always head it even if itā€™s into touch
