  1. True Faith make a good point that they reckon the sports direct advertising is probably worth about 8m a year to Ashley, or rather its saving him that amount.
  2. For once I fully believe the ITK stuff about Pardew only getting a small payoff. Mike Ashley does not pay anything more than he needs to, there was no way he needed to give Pardew an 8 year contract with the risk of a huge payoff so I don't believe this is what he did. A 4 year contract would have even been excessive. *insert Jonas 'nah, no way, nah' gif here*. Llambias gave his mate the contract so it is possible he didn't put a clause in. If that's the case no wonder there was a falling out between Ashley and Llambias
  3. We've still got a top 10 group of players. A manager with anything about him would still see us do relatively fine imo. Pisses me off that Pardew's getting away free it seems from the pundits, etc. Hmm not sure mate, I think he was but the tide might be turning slightly. Ive heard more stuff recently questioning him and our play. There's still too much of the sympathy vote though I agree in relation to the "being hung out to dry theory"
  4. I can't believe that Ashley would be daft enough to hand someone an 8 year contract with no clause in the contract to get out of paying up the full contract upon sacking. That just doesn't make sense.
  5. Pardew going would provide a tonic but the illness would be far from being cured
  6. It must be a really hard decision regarding season tickets particularly if you've sat in the same area for years. The problem is of course there's absolutely nothing enjoyable about NUFC at the moment and I guess there comes a point where some people will find it too much. I certainly wouldn't hold it against anyone who decides against chucking it in, they've paid good money and want to support the team. Very difficult situation really
  7. That's a good summing up there mate, well put. I was one of the ones to turn much more slowly than others on here but the evidence is there for all to see. The sad thing is he's just one part of a completely rotten club and my worry is that we'll see Kinnear in as "interim" manager with the failure to bring anyone of any quality in going forwards.
  8. With each set of quotes that come out from him it just confirms how totally clueless and moronic he is and how utterly crippled we are as a club. Depressing.
  9. There has to be a tipping point though surely? If the football is dour like it is now and people start to walk away because that's combined with a criminal lack of ambition at board level. Alright it might not be a mass walk out but the tide surely will start to turn. It's clear he's not bothered one iota about the fans, the region or how the team does but I just can't see how that can last. If theres no impetus to push the team on whatsoever and now that the above has become apparent then the enjoyment and hope has been removed from the team. Surely people will ask themselves, well what's the point? I'm hardly a mode for fan movement but I would've gone to West Ham and Fulham. Right now I'm partly disinterested and partly deciding to vote with my feet by not going. Just my stance anyway, each to their own ofcourse.
  10. I hope he was fucking watching this match today the arsehole
  11. As it stands with this squad and manager I'd put us at about a 7/8. Some signings might bring that down to a 5/6 i guess but we're really in trouble IMO.
  12. And this is the folly of Ashley at Newcastle. That for 4m he'd risk potential relegation or simply lose that money on the final league position by it signing a striker now.
  13. Yeah that's definitely true, I've heard a few people mentioning this. It might have only been talk sport but it was good hearing them pulling him up on the West Ham long ball accusation, as in "he's got problems of is own before he starts throwing that accusation out"
  14. Says it all when the first thing he rolls out in the interview is about West Hams long ball tactics Embarrassing
  15. Do you think its fine for him to refuse to play (if it is true)? I think the club have been like a market trader all summer trying to get rid of him and I think they create a smear campaign whenever a player leaves to make them look hard done to. None if that would surprise me with this lot. It's got to the point where I've come to the conclusion that I just don't go, it's the one way I feel I ca exercise my right.
  16. Can't stand him, full of complete waffle
  17. I agree but the problem is the cretin who runs the club will hand the reigns over to Kinnear rather than a quality appointment. It's like choosing between being drowned or burrnt at the stake,
  18. beggars belief doesn't it
  19. Given we've only signed 1 player on loan who is currently injured I'd say that has dented much of the excitement. I guess people will probably be excited about the match day routine but hoping rather than expecting changes on the pitch in terms of playing style. Lad at my running club who is a season ticket holder summed it up well "I'm looking forward to the drinks before the match and the banter afterwards but not the stuff in between" I won't be going whereas in the past if there were spares I'd probably have gone on opening day. Might watch it in a pub I guess.
  20. I can't take anything he says on transfers seriously because he has absolutely zero say in what happens. I'm already expecting the "well it's difficult to get players over the line and we have a strong squad as it is". He's already been peddling the line about having to make do and life is tough sometimes. Just constant tedious waffle.
