Signing Mendy makes perfect sense but still seems highly unlikely

It makes sense that he hasn’t looked quite as good as last year. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them bring a left back in if one becomes available

On another day we put those chances away but as more teams do this to us at home we’ll need better players to carve open chances and put them away. Maddison is basically the ideal type of player for this situation. An overlapping left full back would help too.

He’s very good off the ball doing all the unglamorous things to break things up (more away from home) but playing against a low block at home he’s pretty redundant as he doesn’t have the technical ability or finishing around and in the box.

His effort can’t be questioned he’s just very limited particularly how we play in our system

Isak playing and that almost certainly goes in

Whether it’s ASM fully fit, Isak or another winger we need more potency down the left especially at home against teams playing like Leeds did.

I think it shows we need another clinical finisher from midfield.

We do definitely need a Maddison type of player because teams are going to do this. That said we created enough chances just couldn’t finish.

Frustrating but you miss that many chances you’re never going to win ffs. Maybe it highlights that we need more firepower in the final 3rd, better goal scorers. We should’ve easily scored at least 2 there. The bedwetters will be out in force today though ?

Yeah I almost feel that Isak, Wilson and Miggy could be our most effective front 3. Isak would probably press better than ASM but is also quick, very direct and scores goals. We haven’t really seen a proper genuine threat on the left to compliment Miggy yet other than ASM’s odd performance pre injury.

Rodgers just said Maddison has had positive news on his knee and is to be back training soon

Yeah I can see him scoring from open play tomorrow, he looks much more confident currently.

It looks like City have stolen a march on us for him.
