  1. I think we might see Daniel Cordone and Marc Hottiger start
  2. I would be nothing less than fucking criminal if Williamson is selected on tuesday, absolutely criminal
  3. First goal in how long? 13 games No goals in 13 games, scores one, value goes up yeah but Man City are watching and agents is rubbing hands with glee !!! If it comes down to transfer fee then yes we're screwed. If was a straight up choice between the two of us I actually think we've got a decent chance because of the French enclave and the top players who've already signed and the fact he knows he'll start rather than being a squad player. Long shot this one though, not really expecting it to be honest.
  4. Aye, with some of his previous selections you wouldn't put it past him, surely he isn't that thick though ?. You would hope he isn't that stupid after shouting for signings. To now get them and then leave them on the bench would be shocking. If nothing else I think Sissokho and Mbiwa should start with maybe Marv left wing and Oberwank on the right but I suspect he will opt for Shola again and he loves Jonas. Please prove me wrong Pards, do the right thing and lets roll over these not roll over for these My worry is he might stick with the same players, challenging them to perfrom. Now that isn't a bad idea but players like Williamson and Ameobi aren't good enough, even they are playing well. Like you say, hope he does the right thing and puts some of the new players in, it'll be nice to see some pace. The one player I can't see starting under any circumstances is Williamson. Pardew must know he's the seriously weak link in the side above all else. Taylor is coming off a long standing hamstring injury so unless he's absolutely 100% I think Mbiwa will start and would be the sensible option. I have this awful nagging feeling that Pardew might go with Jonas instead of Sissoko but at the very least Jonas will have to pull his finger out. I'd like to see: Krul Debuchy Mbiwa Colo Santon Anita Cabaye Sissoko Gouffran Cisse Marv I think we might see Jonas or Obertan instead of Gouffran though, with G coming off the bench second half. Actually fuck it I've given up trying to work out who Pardew will start
  5. Ge the impression the lad is a potential match winner, tempted to think we should just start him. I mean what are the other options, Perch of Jonas ffs? He's going to have more of an impact than either of those.
  6. Hoping City give them a roasting on tuesday night
  7. "Massively overrated with a bad attitude who will trigger nuclear implosion of the entire club"
  8. I think they'll bring a centre half in to replace Colo
  9. He's literally the ideal type of midfielder to slot into our midfield, a warrior type to go in with Cabaye. Looks like he'll leave most of the team behind with his pace though I can see him starting some blistering counter attacks.
  10. To be honest the scrutiny in which Carr scouts players I have every faith that if we go and get this lad he'll be able to fit into whatever formation or system they have planned. That goes for any extra striker they go for this window.
  11. 6 wins and a couple of draws will probably do it to simply stay up. It could be a low total required this season though, I've heard pundits talking about 36/37 maybe being enough
  12. With Sissoko in mf we'll have more control and hopefully pards will take the chains off. Attacking Villa is the way to beat them (as daft as that sounds). Sit back and we're asking for trouble as their attack is the only thing going for them. If we're one - nil up then we need to press on imo, not sit back and invite them on. Definitely agree with that
  13. Hard to tell what the clubs plans are, all sorts of smoke screens going on maybe. Bid for PEA then interest reported in this lad, atleast we're going for another striker it seems!
  14. love the pure unadulterated excitement
  15. Yeah what's this lad like? Didn't I read somewhere that he's been compared to Drogba in style?
  16. I hope there aren't too many people expecting us to go there and walk this fixture with the new signings. This place will be a nightmare next tuesday at 10pm if we don't with people throwing the towel in and giving it "that's it life is over, boo hoo hoo". You can't legislate for dodgy ref decisions, lucky deflections, inspired keeper performances. Hell Villa might somehow come out and throw the kitchen sink at it and turn in a proper backs to the wall performance (god forbid) The signs are positive with the squad additions but I still see this as a very difficult match...we haven't won away from home all season ff. If we win a dull match 1-0 that'll do. I'll say now that I think Pardew needs to go, just so when I say it after the match you won't think I'm 'throwing in the towel'. I knew you already wanted Pardew out anyway

If we win a dull match 1-0 that'll do. If we are going to stay up we're going to have to win games like this, if we don't then we're in deep s***. I agree but I'm still saying that while a draw isn't good enough it doesn't mean we're definitely going down as a result, in my opinion anyway.
  18. They seem to have good team spirit don't they. They were on their arses a few weeks back but McDermott seems to be getting the best out of them. Turning that West Brom result around at home and then doing us (irrespective of the way we pretty much threw the match away) will have done wonders for their confidence/character.

  20. Mate on my Uni course plays for Hebburn Town
  21. I agree we should be able to put them away given their plight but football is never as simple as that is it..................
  22. Yeah Norwich are really struggling again and Southampton are hardly clear yet. Fulham are in awful form and West Hame haven't exactly been romping to victories. If they lose Diame that'll be a massive blow too.
