  1. Hope they can avoid injury, the Fulham game is every bit as important as this. Sadly. This. God help us if we pick up any key injuries tonight
  2. I bought my ticket for Fulham this morning and even on the way down to the ticket office I had that empty feeling like I was on the way to one of my Physio exams I hope it's not "one of those afternoons" and we comfortably put them away and serve up a positive performance. Anyway I'm in the East stand corner this time, Gallowgate end is totally sold out
  3. Too many question marks developing over him for my liking. He's been hit hard by injuries but the football he's served up this season has been by enlarge atrocious. Tactically we look inept, we're far too cautious/negative and I don't see much evidence of the expansive game he's talked about bringing in. A lot of the play has been hit and hope lacking any real flow, style or ideas. He's looked like a rabbit in headlights a lot of the time. That said I'm prepared to give him next season or atleast the start of it to see what he does as some of the injuries this season have been ridiculous and he was hampered by a lack of signings in the summer. If it's the same old story though with a full deck of cards he'll have lost me. Plus unless it's absolutely horrendous I just can't see him being replaced by Ashley. We'd go a long way if a new coach was appointed to freshen things up and provide some new impetus as he does have some good qualities with man management (HBA) but clearly is lacking knowledge wise - tactics etc. Wishful thinking though probably.
  4. He's put pressure on himself by coming out with the "we're done" comment after Stoke and then serving up two utterly limp performances in the league right after that. The pressure is on against Fulham, anything less than a win and the heat is turned up even further in the derby. I have these awful visions of a confident Berbatov striding around St James' against a nervous side sitting deep inviting pressure on. I think we'll do it but it'll be the usual biting nails, hands over the face/hiding behind the sofa scenario.....

The whole appointment has descended into a shit storm already Mind, putting the whole rivalry aside there's a whole hoast of old school loyal fans like the miners association who are generally shocked and appalled at the whole thing.

Apart from the whole fascist debate I'd he hangs his players out to dry like he did at Swindon he won't last two seconds
  7. Yep 2 wins would basically resolved the premier league situation but 4 points as we'd almost be there on 37 points. Can't afford to go into the derby off a draw though.

There'll be lots of saluting the fans, posturing up to other managers, hugging players, ridiculous press conferences, spats with referees and essentially a load of piss and wind. The question is whether he's actually got the skills to manage a team at this level. I think he'll definitely get a reaction straight off but you'd be amazed if they get anything out of Chelsea away. It does seem a strange one because he strikes me as a manager who will only manage teams on the short term. Is he really the type for example who they can build with if they go down and have a slog in the championship??? He'll certainly love causing some shit at St James, win, lose or draw.
  9. I don't think Sunderland will beat us at St James but they very well could get a draw. For that reason Fulham is absolutely vital. If we're still dicking about coming out of the derby then god knows how this shit stain of a season will pan out
  10. What are you rambling on about? He's injured. To suggest it's because he's been asked to defend more than previously in his career is ludicrous. The times I've seen him live he's worked pretty hard to track back recently given he's our most potent attacking threat. I don't think you can question his work rate, it's just his fitness which is the issue at the moment.
  11. Plan for next season, no point in him trying to get back this season at all.
  12. For all their decent play recently they're still royally in the shit. I actually think they'll get something out of Stoke, maybe even a win as Stoke have turned utter utter turbo shit. They're still effectively 4 points off us with goal difference. I don't think Wigan will beat QPR at Loftus Road either.
  13. Complete and utter waste of a player, hope he's moved on in the summer
  14. To be fair mate I was seething that Obertan had been chosen ahead of Marveaux yesterday but Pardew said in the interview that he has a very minor groin issue but didn't want to risk him with the games that are coming up.
  15. Marveux has yet to be able to cement his place in the side or look settled in a regular position. However there's no doubt the lad has quality and can put a ball in to create chances. There's probably only him and Cabaye can do that that we have fit playing at the moment. Obertan is just plain shite, end of. Need to get rid in the summer
  16. Are Debuchy & Santon back for the Fulham match?
  17. I'll take back what I said about Obertan/Marveaux then. Just seen the interview and he's said Marveaux has a very mild groin strain so they were worried about playing him. He really needs a big performance out of the team next sunday against Fulham. None of this cautious approach, have to go for it and put them away. I'm still to get my ticket for the Fulham match but if we go a goal up and I'm sitting there in the freezing cold and we sit back as we so often do............... Need the 3 points to take into the derby.
  18. Starting Obertan ahead of Marveaux ffs
  19. We're dropping at the worst time but we have the fixtures to rectify things. Fulham is huge make no mistake
