Can defenitely see some improvements regarding our attacking play, and the newcommers has a great effect in this. Debuchy actually gets his crosses to the box, albeit, can't really remember last we scored from a cross tbf. but we have that presence there at last. With Cisse, more often then not Sissoko and gouffran/jonas. Thats more then we used to have. In rebound areas we have also become better with Cabaye and Tiote ready to pick up any balls scruffed out of the oppositions area. Also now both fullbacks often attack, wich means more width aswell. Both gouffran and Sissoko are excellent at working the channels aswell. It's just that one thing, we ain't got any especially good headers of the bunch. And often I saw good options of passes to the penalty area from the byline today wich was ignored. We often got good finishers in theese positions and Cabaye especially likes to arrive late into the box.

This man, like a love story come true. -
We haven't played that badly lately apart from the Anzhi game in an offensive perspective. We've had enough chances to put games away and it's been more the defensive issues wich has cost us.

This certainly is a sign of incompetency by the medical team. How can they give the go ahead for a player of such importance twice in a season to give him a setback?
-
he doesn't like us taking chances in defence, hence often when we get pressurized the team tend to pass back to keeper and hoof. But I really think he deserves credit for putting in Marveaux after we equalized, wich is unusual from him.

Even Collina states the red card to be correct, and lowered his refereescore for not sending Ferdinand off aswell at the end.

Is there a list of the squad that went? -

Sensible. Aren't most managers good times managers? There are few managers around known to taking over clubs on the down and turn things around consistently. The problems we have dealt with this season has many a times forced pardews hand when it comes to team selection. Having both of the teams biggest creative force out with injury in an EL group tie was bad enough. And now Krul is out aswell. EL has not been kind to us as a squad and wasn't expected to be either. Right now I think Pardew needs our support the most. As manager you are the first one to get the blame when the squad gets into a relegation dogfight, even though the team yet again are doing marginal mistakes that looses the game. I really think we should stand behind him now and let him learn how to deal with it. He will do it better next time, and every time after. Thats what creates great managers.

The thread does tell otherwise. We did play well(apart from some defensive issues and not managing to score) and we lost. Still people slate him.
-
Looks a small fellow for a CB, thats for sure. He will need some steel beside him and think atleast for now Taylor is a quite good match for him. Santon even looks quite bit taller than him.

There is moreso a plan now to the game then before christmas. What was the recurring problem before christmas was key offensive players picking up knocks all the time, creating discontinuity. Pardew had to patch up the team week in week out just to get players on the pitch. Now there is a clear difference in how we play, with Cabaye staying back ready to launch that accurate long ball of his to the flanks for storming Sissoko or Gouffran. If the counter isn't on, we allways try to get around them with our fullbacks, especially debuchy who possess an excellent cross. And we allways fill the box now with 2-3 players and having people in the area outside the box to pick up the pieces. But it's still early days for this new team composition. And having HBA in there will make it look slighty different aswell. But I enjoyed most of 2nd half yesterday as I've enjoyed the Chelsea game aswell and so on. It's more about putting the ball in the net right now and we didn't, hence we got punished and stupid mistakes cost us.

Leaves midfield wide open when he goes on his charging runs, should really stop that.
-
Bet Pardew will put Taylor to take care of Ricke Lambert.
-
The new players and style will take time for the team to get used too. Next season should show more promise if not there isn't much Pardew can do to take the team forward and should take his coat.

A win sees us up there amongst top 10, thaughts?

Following our last signings and Dereks comments. I would not be surprised if we started to do our dealings in another country. It will not be long before people start playing hardball with the transfers. As Michu has shown there is potentially good value for money in spain at the right clubs, aswell as the Netherlands and Germany(albeit this place seems a tad expenssive).

Tiote in form would mean so much for us, allowing our attacking 7 to do whatever they want knowing Tiote will charge at will with a warface should they loose the ball.

Can't wait to see the new players such as Debuchy and Gouffran tear up the eastern europeans! -
It's been a rather long trip now, and to me it seems like they are learning. And like the one above said, it's in everyone involved with NUFCs best interest that they keep learning and do the best they can do.

Most important signing in the summer?
-
Saylor has done nothing to deserve beeing dropped. Benteke had his way pretty much, but there are few who are having his way with him in the league. Mapou will probably be eased in the Europe fixtures and be given more game time eventually as the season goes on to replace Colo when he leaves in the summer.
