  1. Would really love having Moyes here, but think our next appointment under the current regime would be someone who is more used to work under a Sporting Director of continental type. I wouldn't be surprised if work is allready started a long time ago finding a suitable man. As our player recruitment doesn't suit Pardew at all. Pardews time as posterboy seems to come to an end looking at it tactically from the owners perspective. Was good at keeping the ship going with a limited squad and nice words. But as players have become better over time we need a manager playing at their strenghts.
  2. Such an important game this one, win it and we're safe imo. A draw and I think it might be enough.
  3. Would even choose good ald Arry or Fat Sam over this fellow right now.
  4. Think most valid questions are, who the hell are managing the offensive part of our game? and who the hell are managing our set pieces as they are both shite atm. and have been all season long.
  5. that game was an total embarrassment, hoy on HBA to save the day, give him the ball once. That longball tactic to Ameobi is so outdated even Ameobi himself doesn´t bother.
  6. looked more like collarbone fracture(position of arm). Had one myself, hurts as fuck. However, heals pretty quickly, should be back in 2.5 months
  7. I've mentioned it earlier, he falls a little bit into nomansland in regard of position. Ajax were playing totally different to what we are with two deep laying midfielders. Retaining posession he is extremely good at. Can make difficult passes aswell as easy ones all day. But right now he is sharing space with the more known Cabaye and they are sharing a duty wich should be taken by one player. In my opinion Cabaye should play further up the pitch and draw sissoko a little bit further back so you've got Vurnon in behind them as an option alongside the centrebacks. Cabaye is also alot better at those adventerous passes whilst Vurnon seems a little bit more reserved when it comes to try something, mostly because I think he's been coached in Ajax by needs of his position to NEVER LOOSE THE BALL. As he would be the last man before their backline. This would also free up Cabaye to do more of the sexy stuff we all know he can do. But the cost really is, we would have one less man back there right infront of the backline at times. And could be vulnerable on the counter. A solution is offcourse to have a centreback to do the mopping up and vurnon covering, wich I think he is capable of. The lad is quite fast.
  8. He just came from france, where the play is slower tempowise and the forwards press less then in the EPL. Offcourse it will take some time to get things right in regards of playing in posession. However his defensive play often are very good and will probably be even better with time. Should get a reliable partner for him as Saylor again proves he can't be counted on (allthough I love him to bits).
  9. Swapping demba demba for double local AC up top?
  10. Think he might is falling into the trap of not having a defined role or position in the team that really suits him. He isn't really the box-to-box player as he's been used. You can clearly see he doesn't take that many chances to make a dribble. By heart he seems a defensive midfielder, there to recycle posession and intercept attacks. But lately, we've mostly played him with Tiote, wich lands him in no mans land when it comes to comfortableness in role. As he's been told to get forward. When he plays with Cabaye it seems like he's told to be that link man between cabaye and the upfield players, when he really should take that deep role and let Cabaye get some more freedom to find space higher up the pitch. But can't really blame Pardew in the question, as Tiote is a pure defensive midfielder, and Cabaye has played all his life in that deep playmaker role. Both at Lille and for the french national squad, it's evident that he knows the role. So the big question then is, where does it leave Anita? An expenssive backup for Cabaye? Or just an uncomfortable utility player to have in and around the squad?
  11. How can people in the even slightest blame Pardew for a medical condition like that? A freak injury at it's worst. Hatem didn't do anything on that plastic turf, almost didn't even run even.
  12. The reputation of the club was shit mangerwise when Pardew came in, sacking people left and right etc. Now Pardew has come in and taken us to the next level, with cooperation with our tremendous chief scout ofcourse. Hopefully in the next few years we can take another step. And managers will really look at Newcastle as a real opportunity in their career.
  13. Abit erratic, but with abit more time I think he will be good. That acceleration man, must be terrifying for defenders, once he's 20 meters away, you get the ball and he's in your face.
  14. The reason Tiote makes more passes are quite evident when you watch the games. Think most teams by now has watched him enough this season to realize he isn't the tiote of the past, atleast with the ball at his feet. And they seem to manmark cabaye heavily to deny him the ball. When Cabaye is marked out Tiote is the only man beside him who can take the ball from defence to attack.
  15. Was brilliant yesterday, moved everywhere very Hatem esque. Dribbled well with the ball making their defence unbalanced, wich is something we've lacked against deep defending teams. No hard criticism against Sissoko but when defences are very deep he tends no to get up the speed he needs to get the marauding runs forward. And thats where you need your little players with quick turns and small tricks to bring it past players. Marveaux has shown the last to games he still got a spot to fight for in the first eleven, especially with hatem out.
  16. the man is Newcastle through and through, just lovely player to watch. Hopefully young AC takes his mentality when it comes to hometown club.
  17. Loved his celebrations, allthough it might be because he hates HTC telephones, but I choose to believe he got real desire to get back to his best, and scoring goals is his prime joy. He looked so relieved after beeing slagged off this season as not as good as people thought he was. Hope he comes back stronger next season and won't be playing on the wing for the most part.
  18. I think we've seen improvements in our attacking play, especially when it comes to getting to the byline, what we don't see as much is the backpass into the area for easy finishes or people attacking first post most of the time. Most of the players are generally new to the prem, and working on the defensive aspect of the game might not prove to be such a disaster at this point, as the prem in itself is quite a fast moving game and some of the players needs some getting used to time. However, we should expect more of a system and general play later on as it's quite a big part of getting Cisse the chances he needs to score. Tbf his tally isn't bad considered the amount of chances he gets during games that actually are accountable and the systems he's been playing in.
  19. Still early days for him, first season and all. With ALOT of new players, both for him and the rest. Give him time, and he will become good.
  20. So small he can't be seen when in the hole.
  21. We can draw an english team this time around yes?
  22. there was a few occasions where we fucked up big time in defence again. But it didn't cost us. We are still struggling to get that play closer to their goal and people become quite static when close to the opponents box. Other then that there was improvements again, and I can't even wait for the next game.
  23. we will end up with 44 points and Cisse will have scored 15 goals by the end of the season, wich isn't really that bad of a tally.
  24. As City have done, we should aswell. Against weaker sides sitting deeper we are more adept with him comming with full speed like Yaya from the deep making that extra man in and around their box. Having someone more calm like Marveaux or Cabaye in the role in the hole. Whilst against better sides pressing us he is excellent at holding up the ball and running the channels on the counter, and we should utilize theese abilities to the max.
