Yip! I think people might slowly start to do that u-turn though, I thought it was impossible but the future is looking brighter and brighter, can't see how they can keep going in the other direction! This team is going places!
  2. Anyone who is comfortable with betting against Newcastle must be snapping up the prices surrounding Liverpool tomorrow, they are huge.

Even Krul is a 'maybe' and Cabaye just 'somewhere'.

The first 45 was the best 45 without a doubt this year and arguably even all of the 5th season and that was without Ben Arfa in the side. If we had Ben Arfa in the second half, that still wouldn't have changed how things turned out. The players retreated after Willo's mistake but at least they showed grit and resilience to battle for the 3 points and not roll over and give them it. Problem is, once they scored we didn't utilise the counter as well as we could have done and struggled badly to get a good grip back on the game. We need to keep improving and put more consistency into our play and not just 20 minute spells or one good half, one bad. If we lose the derby, he will be hounded and rightly so, whether or not it will be enough to have him sacked or not is another matter. Mackems will be a different proposition now Di Canio has gone, i actually don't think they've played as badly as people make out in recent games since he's left, they've not picked up the points but i think performance wise they've done alright against Liverpool/ManUtd.

We are an improving side and i'm looking forward to saying how Pardew continues to develop it. Changes in style of play and formation have worked well imo so far this season. Although on the back of that good win at Cardiff, i do fear we might not see Ben Arfa/Anita starting for a while even if the Liverpool game doesn't go our way, with tough fixtures coming up, i can see Pardew being choosing a slightly conservative team selection through these fixtures which may see hba/anita used sparingly. I could never justify Ben Arfa being taken off or dropped for any league match but the Cardiff result did give me confidence we are still a good side without him and not a one man team like I was beginning to fear first few games of the season.

So, if the fans start accepting poor performances and results, we'd be a better club? Aye. Don't think he means it like that, more the fact every game is a must win up here, even gets said on this forum before nearly every match, if we lose 'must win' game, relegation battle looms. Well at least that's what i think he is putting across. There's pressure on every club manager to succeed but not necessarily on every single game like it is with Pardew. I thought he came across the whole interview rather well to be honest, obviously can dissect a quote here or there that might be incorrect or slightly baffling but on the whole thought it was a good watch and enjoyed it.
  7. Be careful with Taylor in this market in the future, he generally doesn't get an awful lot of 180's as often switches down to T19 even if he's planted first two darts in T20. Taylor in the 180 market is always a fairly large price against majority of players. Although 4/1 still seems way to big for a one off match, he’s usually around 10/1 to get most 180’s on the night in the Premier League.
  8. Match fixing in the Wycombe game blatantly and he knows something, all international games then that randomer popped in the day after
  9. Staggered by the people backing Portugal around 2/11, they've proved time and time again they are huge fuck ups and shouldn't even be considered last resort when betting on.
  10. He 3rd choice now then? I hope so...
  11. Think Wenger needs to manager Wilshere carefully from now on in as it seems like there is a reputation developing here which could halt his career. Personally i think we shouldn’t be mounting this pressure on him on and off field, the press build him to be the 'golden boy' of the next generation but then willingly shoot him down with the last smoking farce and his latest quotes which they took out of context. He should be being protected not hung out to dry.

I've always just been happy to just wait for everyone else to make up a chant then join. One i did come up with was never going to take off. (Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger) - Michael Owen, we believe, when you score a goal and kiss the sleeve, the goals will dry up when you leave, it's one for Michael Owen and another for the Toon Army, duh duh duh duh duh duh etc.... Your choice of NUFC personnel to back is truly exemplary isn't it? Here we come, the posters who always knew Owen was s*** as soon as we signed him. To be fair at the time of coming up with this song, he was actually still injured from World Cup as far as i remember, so maybe I should have known not to come up with a random chant for ‘England Boy’. Not that i'm bothered like, i fancied Owen to score goals for us, he did for every other club so why not us, 20,000 turned up to see him arrive so not like I was the only one who backed him. Bet you've still got your 'Marcelino' shirt. Viana
  13. I'm now not sure if Belguim are overrated or underrated
  14. Play for Brazil then. Too many loopholes to pick and choose which international country you want to play for imo.
  15. The press, fergie and Man Utd fans wanked over Macheda when he burst on the scene, think i'll reserve judgement just for now. Farce that we are trying to poach him in the first place, it's gone bonkers this whole system of living in the country for a few years so you can now play for them.
  16. They're not off to war Just off to play some football which they love. I'm sure they can say no if they don't fancy the trip or the loan can be cancelled if they are homesick. Wouldn't be the worst option.

    Papiss Cissé

Jose Enrique Jose was criticised in his first season, after that can't remember anyone rounding on him, lots of players have had poor starts then picked up their form, that was nothing new.

    Looks that way. Mental.
  19. Cuntish refs like Phil Dowd who love the cameras on them and take a simple 15 second booking, into a 2 minute show. Just book the fuckers and resume play, don’t need to call them over to you, start laughing with them about the foul as if they are your best mates, proceed to show the yellow with a smug face on, then just as you think the shows over and play can carry on, they will nit pick at the ball not being on the exact blades of grass to where the foul was made!

  21. Without a doubt, can't believe people would have Baines over him. Cole has proven himself to be one of very few world class players in our side. The only one, imo. At least at the International stage. I think Ferdinand (not the one that looks like a cooker) has also put himself in that bracket. You could debate a few of them likes of Lampard/Rooney but agree Cole is the one has firmly put himself in the world class bracket and for me still is one of the best left backs in the world.
