  1. He can't even hold down a regular place in a poor Arsenal side. He needs to manage that first before you even start mentioning world best with Chamberlain.

what about those injury time goals out of nothing... He played a big role in us staying up then, happy A better striker would have scored the several chances he f***ed up during the games way before any injury time drama. His goals were important, only he needs to double that tally before I can call him a serious goal threat. I would have him down as a serious goal threat already. He is our only serious goal threat. We rely on him far too much to produce the goals. He did miss a hell of a lot of chances last season and it could have been costly but i think he under performed just like the rest of the squad and manager did but i don't think that takes away the fact of him being a serious goal threat in his entire career to date.
  3. What a slashing. He's going to get battered on his first day of training at his new club. Early retirement potentially on the cards here.
  4. If Bayern let me down again this year, i'm not sure i'll survive it, backed them to win the tourney last 4/5 year and i thought last year was the year when the Deutschlanders had finally risen and re-paid the faith. Shirley this year, shirley? EDIT: Knowing my luck it will be the wrong Deutshlanders rising

This....i've just nearly died laughing at work. People in the office looking around thinking what is he on.... Sheer brilliance to pluck that oldie from nowhere to put the arguement to bed. Wow.
  6. That's the one for me but can't see no reason why Anita has been ditched? I really hope we give him a far bigger role next year because i firmly believe the more he plays, the better he will get and we could have a little gem on our books without even realising it yet. I thought it was a respectable first year for him given the opportunities. Thought he struggled at the start, then came in to his own when given the chance over xmas period then harshly imo dropped once Tiote came back then was hardly seen since.

You make it sound like an extra 3 wins is nothing, that's 9 points, that is going to lift you up a fair deal no matter what position you are in. Yes the football we have played has been shocking, mainly second half performances however. I don't believe for a single second this was all Pardew's fault, not totally anyways like people say. Going on like he’s telling us to put 9 men behind the ball and hoof to Cisse when given the chance simply because we’ve won the first half 1-0 or whatever. Utter nonsense. I think it was plain to see the players struggled to cope with the pressure and with confidence very low after the abysmal season, resulted in us not taking the game back to the opposition once things started to go in the oppositions favour. No doubt Pardew takes a large share of the blame as well, he should be able to instil a belief back in the players, he should be making his changes at better times, with better choice of personnel but not for one second do i believe he’s cost us all these dreadful second half performances due to his half time team talks simply being, lets defend for our lives and don’t go forward. I can certainly see us putting up a very different show next season and might even surprise one or two in a positive way. But time will tell.

If Pardew stays I'd like to see anyone come on here and say with real confidence that next season will be a success. We won't get a repeat of last season's adrenaline when results went our way and new players like Cabaye and Ba were eager to prove themselves. With confidence, i’m going for us to bounce back and finish top 8. And this is me in no way shape or form, saying Pards is the man to take us forward, it’s not. My opinion is, if Ashley got a top manager to replace, great but i’d be very pissed off if we made another side step like a Hughton to Pardew. In terms of next season i honestly believe we can kick start things back in to action. I don’t believe the rumours about unrest in the squad, i’ve got no evidence to back this up, but it’s just as much as evidence as to those who say there is a split, just an opinion. I just cba with all negativity, doom and gloom. I’d much rather get behind Pardew and the team and hope we transform ourselves around next season than practically wishing that he has another dire season just so he gets sacked like most on here seem to be wishing for.

The fact he can't get behind the club the start of the new season regardless of what players come in simply because of his dislike for the manager. If fans flock in to SJP with this kind of attitude on the first game of the season, it's another needless obstacle for the players/manager to overcome. You know with this kind of attitude will be met with moans and groans as soon as the first thing doesn't go to plan. It's a new season, the owners have made the choice to keep him, lets get behind the manager and players to give them support to hopefully get off to a positive start, that's all that we did when finished 5th, we got a winning mentality instilled within the group, we didn't think we were going to concede, we fancied our chances to nick games, from then on we moved throughout the year looking comfortable with a few mishaps along the way. We all know last season was a disaster, we all know Pardew is a very limited manager, but going into the season on his back isn't going to help anyone.

I have to be honest with myself and say that I can't do that. Any players coming in will mean little to me until the Pardew cloud has gone. We already have very good players imo. New very good players won't improve Pardew. Baffling.

Well considering he sanctioned 10 million for Remy in Jan, i see no reason why he won't spend a similar amount to that on a striker for starters. Of course if he sells say Cabaye for 20 million, i then don't expect him to go and splash the sale money elsewhere.

It doesn't make a difference whether the fans are moaning or not. It doesn't make any difference to the club, but it makes our lives f***ing miserable. After this week I have to agree with Brett, better batten down the hatches and look forward to next season. It obviously won't be near as bad as this one. That isn't certain tbh because we don't who'll leave or not. It would take something drastic to happen to even be close to as bad as this season. I think we could lose two/three key players and we still won't be hitting 5th bottom again. This season was just a disaster all around. I feel sorry for fans if they are going into next season thinking we are going to be anywhere near as bad. The onus is on Pardew to us give a reason not to be negative. So far its been been lies and scapegoating with little in the way of concrete progress each time. My optimism will only stretch as far as my perception of success (i.e not bottom 5 at the very least) allows it to be. I expect it to be better but ultimately fear it could equally be worse. Each to their own i suppose. I'm on the opposite side of the fence and think this group can move on together and have a strong season. Expect a couple of big names and a couple of fringe players may go but sincerely hope they are replaced with quality. I do feel like Ashley won't hold back like last summer however and dig deep like he did in Jan. A good start to the season is crucial, if we manage that, there is no reason why we can't challenge, 8th-5th places.

I just hope Newcastle fans don't drag this negativity throughout the summer going in to next season, understand majority still slightly hoping for a minor miracle but let’s face facts, it's not going to happen anytime soon. Day after day, criticising Pardew, moan about a new manager coming in. Same old. He's here, Ashley is content, we all need to pick ourselves back up and just grab some optimistic straws for next season with Pardew at the helm.
  16. How are you actually falling for this utter bullshit is beyond me.
  17. What about Wayne Bridge though?
  18. Surprised Cisse against Fulham at home hasn't got a mention. Injury time, on the verge of being fucked and he takes a lazy effort from Cabaye, flicks it over his shoulder and volleys it home. Decent.
  19. I'm still mad at Europe. After reading the original Eurovision bet post by Pata, i'm still at loss how he didn't win. Sounds so confident, backing it up with high stakes and a bit of seemingly good knowledge in brackets.

And so did Ashley, hence him opening his wallet for the January transfers. It was clearly Pardew crying out from the dugout, made the shittest changes possible to exaggerate his dying need for new blood, accumulating in an embarrassing defeat...in fairness it worked, Ashley got he cheque book out. Well played Pards. His starting 11 against Liverpool on the other hand............

You seriously blaming Pardew for his lack of form due to Pardew's negative way? Sissoko did well to look a 'beast' in the first place in an unfamiliar position and a new league to contend with. Pardew's answer to his demise was to play him right wing against Liverpool, that was his clueless part. Pardew should at least take some of the praise for having the sense to play him in an advanced role which massively helped us gain wins against Villa and Chelsea. Unfortunately this form then wasn't sustained as clubs became a lot more familiar with him and he wasn't the surprise package anymore so obviously other managers would pick up on his glaring attacking weaknesses, Pardew just didn't have the sense to look and change this. Either a)drop him or b) play him in his preferred position. Pardew didn't have him playing as a number 10, he had him in CM, Sissoko only ended up in that kind of role/position because the game was becoming stretched and he was released from his shackles and getting more space and freedom to run forwards and get at the opposition. First half against Chelsea stuck in CM he was running into traffic constantly. Only Pardew would claim he turned Sissoko into a number 10 or rather that he deserves the credit for it. Nonsense. Sissoko has played behind Cisse for the majority of games since he arrived. Cabaye/Tiote/Anita/Perch, have mainly all been behind him. Sissoko has then reverted deeper in a few games once we've already been rolled over in the latter stages.
