Sounds like at least 15M. Jesus I was guessing towards 12/13 if our offer was 8.5, even worse than i thought. Nobody expects him to come, so if he did come, it would just be one big wankfest on here, which would be nice
-
Realistically, what would Lyon be willing to accept for Grenier? I’m guessing much higher than 8.5?
-
What is it that has you unconvinced? He does what he does very well imo. Not sure i want to see the answer to this question I thought everyone loved Vern

Nah, you can see what you want to see but I think it was a moment of stupidity, nothing more. His attitude hasn't been a problem before in his time here, it's actually seemed brilliant. Don't mean the sending off, just general game play. I agree the last two games he has looked better more up for it but for a good few games before that he looked like he was ready for the off. These comments only seem to be said when he has a bad game though or has cocked up? I think he's just been in poor form of late.
-
We will need him for front post flick on's if Santon continues to take corners......
-
Me neither. I thought he played well last night. Think he's been out of form of late and it's just an easy excuse to say he isn't arsed.

Again his great investigative journalism.. in bed watching SSN

If he does pull some circus stunt like that, 3 points is a must. Was the same with Cardiff away after the Hull shambles and he dropped Ben Arfa and Anita and recalled Tiote. Was a horrid and shocking team selection but we then performed really well and got 3 points.
-
And we wouldn't want that now would we, Bimpy?

That'll be your heros fault. Not playing Hatem pushes that scenario closer. I think it's come across like they have a good working relationship. Ben Arfa hasn't shown any desire to leave and has always fought his way back in the team and i expect him to do it again. For a player who was meant to be trouble, he hasn't shown an ounce of bother here under Pardew. Obviously Pardew will get no credit for that though. That's not the point, we aren't seeing him play. The lad wants to play and will probably miss out on this years World Cup because of it. There's is no way he'll put with that for too much longer. His behaviour and working relationship wont mean a thing if he leaves because Pardew wont play him, yet plays and puts on the worst player in the Premiership ahead of him time and time again. We say he's leaving to Liverpool every transfer window. Surely Ben Arfa can't be happy here, he'll walk into any side, he has ambition blah blah blah but yet this selling club seems to keep him each window. Ben Arfa will be back in the team at the right time and if i had it my way, he would never have been out of it but i'm still confident Pardew will bring him back in and wouldn't surprise me if he had an excellent second half of the season. He effin better start to tonight, if he doesn’t, just scrap everything I’ve just said there, he’s gone

That's nothing that, just wait till Ben Arfa leaves. Full on breakdown.

I want to feel like this but i still love him Like a girlfriend you picked up who wasn't all that great looking at the start, but then developed into an absolute beauty. She then realises she can now do better and cheats on you but you take them back because they are gorgeous, everything seems fine again yet out the blue they do the dirty on you again! When she finally decides to break it off for good, you can’t help but still want them back even though they've hurt you so much but you know they'll never come back...fuck i'm broken :'(

I keep forgetting we actually have a game tonight It just seems like a non-issue/importance with the off field antics we produce

risk/reward I guess. They're clearly after the big money and have developed a strategy around that. Obviously it doesn't always work (Redknapp, AVB, Capoue etc) but at least they have a sell. Their fans probably broadly get their 'modus operandi'. I just begrudge that Ashley's isn't football or competition related. It's a crying shame for a football club from a football area. That's basically it, Spurs were floating around basically like us at the moment, up and down then it seems Levy just thought fuck it, let's back Redknapp to the fullest and just go for it. They ended up in the champions league and now some were even saying with the signings they made could challenge the title this year, wasn't to be but at least they have got themselves in a position now to even think that. I read somewhere that Kinnear put a bit in the program saying 1/2 signings a year is what we should expect but i can't possibly see how that could ever work for a football in the Premier League. I don't even think that's enough to sit pretty in the mid table without something going tragically wrong sooner or later. Even with the saviour signings last Jan, we still nearly committed suicide, not out of the realms of possibility that next time we do actually go down. If we don’t invest this summer, we may as well just stop dreaming.
-
Spurs after an average season at best, Sold Berbatov for 30 odd million but then ended up spending over 100 million in a summer. Where did that money suddenly come from? Surely that was major gamble by Levy? That wasn't even with perfect signings either, couple of them were huge flops for huge sums of money likes of Bentley. To be fair to Levy though, that one summer changed the direction of the club and has pretty much got them nailed in the top 6 now and pushing for top 4 spot...until AVB had a poor start that is.
-
What do you mean "within their grasp" though? They've done well so far, nobody could deny that. But would they put themselves into massive debt to go from 10th to 4th? I just think sometimes how brilliant other clubs are is massively exaggerated on here. But meh. Interesting to see if Man Utd or Chelsea manage to get Luke Shaw as well. Aye, the likes of established sides like Everton and Spurs are bankrupting themselves trying to break into the top 4. Spurs took massive gambles. They were throwing huge sums of money around without really being in a position to afford that. Paid off in the end though. Everton have got there on good management rather than spending power. Something Ashley just overlooks. You say that, but they very obviously could afford it. What happens if the Bale sale falls through? So what, they're still sitting on £000'm's of assets to sell off if they really have to OR worst case is that they keep him, they add a load of players and they achieve a top 4 space to fund the whole splurge. Call me naive but I don't think Daniel Levy would risk the future of the club for the sake of a few extra players in the summer. Truth is, they and everyone else knew the Bale deal was happening and they proactively addressed it and planned for it. We all knew the Cabaye deal was happening and we'll have a last minute panic and then sit on the money. Tell's you everything you need to know about the commitment of the respective owners and why they are the game. One wants to compete and achieve and one wants to run an indirect Sports Direct marketing department, at a profit. I meant prior to Bale, well before him the big money was being spent. I mean around 2008 they started going massive money when they were floating between the top 6 and mid table and they gambled with big money. Some signings worked wonders, others were a complete waste of money but they progressed and Redknapp took them to a new level.

Wtf What you moaning at now?

We bought Anita then forced next summer signings in early as things got so bad. That cost us but we've got back in the position to challenge again and the summer coming up is where we should spend at least 30 million again. Will we learn from our last mistake? I hope so.

Agreed but do you really see Pardew playing either of them ahead of Ameobi when he hasn't done that all season so far. I'm not sure De Jong is a bonus as he'll go ahead of Shola in the pecking order and a 4-4-2 still looks good even without Cabaye.

I suppose he could grow a pair of b0ll0x and actually want to manage a team that had minimal sporting aspirations. He wouldn't have to say anything, the silence could at least be interpreted as displeasure. Listening to him finger Mashley's ringpiece grates on me though. Silence No comment to any challenging question to why no permanent signings were made or no Cabaye replacement. That would probably anger people on here more no doubt. I honestly don't know what would make people happy other than a rant or dig at Ashley during a question. Remember the couple of weeks after Nobby Kinnear signed. Nothing from Pardew. 2 brain cells was all that was needed to figure out he wasn't 'on board' with that appointment. It helped the fact he didn;t have press conferences to attend and could just stay out of the way of the media on holiday or wherever. Soon as he spoke he muddled his way through backing the appointment. Totally different when he has to face the media and take the questions full on straight after a deal has been struck or deadline day passed.

I'm cool with Ben Arfa/Marveaux stepping up in the pecking order now Cabaye has gone, two creative players to last us till the summer there if need be. I don't want Ben Arfa in the 10 role but i'd still probably go with him over Sissoko and change it around if it doesn't work.

Them comments were bang out of order and i said that at the time. Pardew can't be blamed for lack of signings though or a sale near deadline today. I don't know what you expect him to say?
