Pope is so far down our priority list. Would I like a keeper who is better with his feet, absolutely. But not at the expense of being a great shot stopper or commanding in his area. I know his command of his area has been poorer for a while but he’s still largely very good there too. Let’s sort out right wing, striker, DM (if that’s how Eddie wants us to set up) and RCB as back up before we look elsewhere. We are also sorely lacking creativity and I think an attacking midfielder who can play the 10 role whilst also having flexibility to cover elsewhere across midfield is a priority

You take a look at the number of charlatans who own football clubs and basically the “checks and balances” around ownership amount to a red tape process for the sake of it, like so many processes that are part of modern life now
-
Personally believe he would make any football asset worse in the long term. You can cheapen your tacky shit as much as you want in a purely consumerist model, e.g. Sports Direct. Football is extremely complex and you can’t just asset strip it. He was lucky that he bought us as we had a huge stadium that kept selling out in spite of him and kept his name and brands in the news nonstop. Convinced he’ll be fucking awful for anyone. Don’t want to wish him on anyone but if other clubs are welcoming him with open arms, they’ll soon find out
-
Agreed, it’s not just about grinding out wins with the onus on physicality and being solid defensively. Lots of quality younger players there these days
-
Seems like we have genuine interest but then they sign for another big club in the PL or Europe or sometimes a smaller club where they’re likely to get more first team football before they transition to a bigger club. Think we’ve just been beaten to the signings rather than dropped our interest but that’ll change at some point
-
Also had that strip but I’m not 12 anymore so can’t make much use of it these days
-
Think he had no idea how to integrate him in the team and they didn’t create a lot for him. Don’t think he played great for them but imagine if he’d gone to Brighton or Villa, would have been completely different
-
Aye, they got just under one season of him at an elite level. It’s only going one way from here and he’ll get continually worse overall despite having occasional quality games
-
I thought you boys were dead and buried after a handful of games but unless you get points deducted you might be in for a period of things stabilising for the first time in years
-
Our most consistent player, which is frankly remarkable when you consider how many pivotal last ditch tackles he’s involved in and how many creative passes he makes
-
Can see this match being a bit of shitfest, with one goal deciding it
-
Sudden death penalties from the off please

Isak doesn’t have the brute force and willpower of Shearer, he’s not as good in the air or at striking the ball with power. However, he’s a world apart from Shearer in terms of dribbling. Shearer was the better out and out striker at his best but Isak will offer more in his all round game and he’ll continue to improve a lot more too. He’s a phenomenal player who has pretty much all the attributes (apart, possibly, from having that steely will t win) to become a top three striker in the world for years to come
-
Sunderland can have him

What the fuck is going on at the moment? Seems like day-to-day violence is becoming commonplace. Stand up comics after the pandemic talked about being attacked on stage like never before. Whole world has gone to shit
-
I think a lot of top players would have a nightmare at Man U. Mount and Antony certainly aren’t top players but they’re a club where you can expect a player to go backwards not forwards with them
-
We know as well as anyone that a bad owner destroys a club. There is a different argument that can be made about the Glazers as their spend should in theory have meant that they remained a top five club worldwide but they have let the rot set in, in lots of ways like Ashley did
-
Quite, not sure it needs spelling out though. He plays in the most pivotal role in our side and he’s our best player or a top three performer in almost all games (accounting for a dip in form due to his ankle previously)
-
I don’t disagree that he’s a great addition for them but Pep has a history of coaching his players to be unselfish. At the moment, I don’t see Doku getting starts if his first choice is always to take people on if there’s a better option available
-
Doku doesn’t seem like a Man City player, far too much of an individual rather than team player
-
Mount had more than five touches?
-
@Froggy I don’t watch that many Man U games but all the matches I watch, Mount is a passenger. Was he benched because of form or injury?
-
Rashford looks like he has no idea what to do with the football, so low in confidence
-
It’s proper classroom stuff - not really sure who was at fault so teacher plays the law down on both kids
-
Man U are so bad, they just don’t have any identity. Amrabat gagging for a red in this fixture
