If you have a membership it’s tricky to tell what the ballot success rate will be like

Eddie so focused, incredibly easy to believe every word he says completely. Staveley an absolute shark in business, beautiful

Lopetegui opening the door with a “come get me” plea. Wolves nailed on to have an awful season
-
Best thing for Lewis’s career, hopefully he can put together a decent season and someone coughs up next summer. Wonder how much they’re paying in wages

“Ignore the news Bayern, we’ve got you over a barrel. Kane will never leave. However, you could own him by buying a stake in the mighty Spurs, for say 1.5 billion?”

Aye, no one’s going to beat Robot in terms of output even if he’s not the most gifted footballer out there, just an amalgamation of a physical freak with absurd finishing ability
-
Aye, I’ve got the flammables ready and waiting. If he stays injury free I’d be amazed if he doesn’t become one of the best players in the world
-
If we have someone quality lined up I’d love to fuck Southampton off

Like I say, I’m someone who can definitely see it happening but there are a lot of things at play here: Even if they bring over a ton of quality players, there’ll still be a significant number of poor players on every team. That’s going to be extremely frustrating and demotivating for elite footballers. Equally, the sums of money involved are so high that people could easily just stop caring about football, especially when it’s about winning a league that doesn’t have major fans etc. The coaching, managers, academies, fitness teams and all that infrastructure has to go there too. That’s clearly possible with the money going round but will take time. Will footballers want to live in a culture where they can’t hit up strip clubs, get pissed all the time, gamble? Will their partners want to bring their children up there? Potentially footballers and their partners will be fine with that but who knows. The only way spending this sort of money makes sense is if they have a long-term plan to either build a world-beating league or to front a super league of elite clubs like Kimbo says. They have to go all in to make that happen. Let’s talk about where things are at in 12 months. If they keep building at the pace they are right now, it’ll look a lot more convincing
-
If SA is in for the long game sure, they have to build all the infrastructure around it, not just bring in huge names. On top of that, you have to rely on footballers accepting SA as a place to live and to buy in to the way of life there. There’s a lot that needs to go together but it’s not out of the question

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to play Espanyol on 08/08/25

This is exactly how I’d sum up who he’s going to be at our club. Don’t want to liken him to a Bruno Fernandes in terms of an “our cunt” but he’s definitely going to be that guy for us -
Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

Always wanted to go to Mostar -
Putting to one side the fact that Rob_M seems to have a line through to someone heavily involved in transfers, his craic is shit
-
Not even up for debate, Willock’s athleticism is on another level
-
Genuinely believe it was all mental with Shola. Not saying he would have been an amazing footballer but so many games he looked worse than a semi-pro footballer and then he’d have some occasional quality moments. Don’t know if there’s a player that’s played for Newcastle that’s annoyed me more than him but I don’t dislike him
-
Gave it a like even though I think “decent player” is out of line. He should have been a decent player but I think mentally there was something missing which meant he continually fucked up simple things that he was actually technically capable of

Zero’s not known for having balanced takes

I didn’t think you were referencing him, haven’t seen him post in these threads recently. Just wanted to make the point that his whoosh technique and posting style is genuinely funny whereas a lot of the “funny” posts in this thread are variants on that style with less success
-
TBG is genuinely funny, there are other funny posters as well and some other posters have their moments. However, once you get threads that become a pile on of the same joke it gets old pretty quickly
-
A fair amount if not all of the writing-off posts are whooshes, whether that’s about Tonali or someone else. Everyone’s just bored out of their minds. Can’t wait for the season to begin, stopped caring in detail about the transfer window

My brother in law is a Sheffield United fan, think there’s an acceptance within the fan base and wider club that they don’t stand a chance of staying up. Think they were amazed that they got promoted in all honesty
-
Seems like a really confident, nice lad. Got a good feeling he’ll settle in very quickly
-
Don’t think Moyes has any idea about how to build a side. I think he’s good at working with the players he has, fostering a united team and getting results but I’d never trust him with a budget. I know there are directors of football but they do need to work closely with the manager on transfers
-
It feels like it could be, let’s see what the interest is in the Saudi league, if each team in the league can have a bunch of quality players then it’s hard to imagine it not getting a big following
-
Makes me appreciate FFP to be honest, would have felt hollow as fuck to win by dropping obscene money and having a squad that was champions league winning worthy within the space of two years. I say that on one hand being pleased about it and on the other annoyed, given that FFP isn’t actually interested in the integrity of the game, but adding to the status quo
