We just going to let Nunez take a record number of shots against us tonight?
-
Joelinton’s probably been our best player after Dubs. And Jow’s not exactly had a great game so it’s been rank
-
Our ability to hold onto the ball is the worst it’s ever been under Howe. Not sure what needs changing as everyone is misplaying passes, getting caught on the ball and just crowded out
-
What do you think is going to change things here?

Miley’s been bullied out there so far
-
I love Isak but his pressing style is “the lazy jog”. Surely can’t be being told to press with zero intensity
-
We’re looking fragile but that’s a great tackle by Longstaff

Let the punishment begin

Absurd stat, especially when it’s been about twenty different injury lay offs
-
Out of all of those, Thauvin must have been the biggest flop. Pogba was world class inconsistently for a short period. Alcantara has had a great career really and probably closest in terms of consistency in his later years
-
I like him, I think he’s a good player and his pace will be the difference but they bought him on a huge contract and no one’s going to be looking at him and thinking, there’s a cheap deal. He’ll be stewing at Chelsea for a few years I reckon

Don’t think anyone will touch Mudryk for a while
-
I remember bigging up Erik Lamela when we was about to go to Spurs, telling some mates that he was absolutely class. I didn’t think he was world class but I thought he was going to go that way but he ended up being another one with huge talent but just completely plateaued
-
I remember, his dribbling got massively overrated for what it was and I never thought he’d get close to the level he got to. I’m not a fan of him as a person but he got every ounce out of his career. His dribbling was never close to world class but his heading was probably the best ever and his striking off both feet is up there amongst the very best. His attitude is probably the biggest thing though. Fair play to the wanker
-
We should have an inverse of this thread. Players who went on to be world class that you were sure wouldn’t make it, like Kane
-
I think Burn is the right call over Hall for this game so fair enough. I’d prefer to have Tino over on that side and Krafth at RB though I think
-
He was very good, like a precursor to Foden
-
Thought Jack Wilshere would get to that level when he was early 20s but he’s another whose career went backwards after a few years
-
Yeah, Callum Roberts had a lot of talent. Way more than where his career has led him. It’s so unpredictable matching talent on the ball with what type of career a player will have
-
Personally think Foden is world class and will be one of the top ten players in the world throughout the 2020s
-
Calm down son
-
Dembele is a fantastic shout

I thought Josh McEachran was going to be a far better player than he turned out to be. Didn’t think he’d be world class but I thought he’d be a decent premier league player. His career just died. Thought Kaka would have a far better career, obviously that’s a bizarre thing to say about someone who was regarded as world class anyway. But he dropped off so quickly, was it injuries? James Rodriguez’s drop off was ridiculous

Great quote, such a calming character

He’s a Howe player in terms of how he never stops working and he does the dirty stuff well. Receives the ball and shields it fairly well too but I just find him very limited in terms of going forward. We’re crying out for players who are either very good technically in holding onto the ball or very good creatively in terms of ball delivery. Don’t think he’s close to either of those things
