  1. I understand that they'd be looking to make as much money as possible and not want to take a pay cut but I honestly believe that were I in their shoes and this offer was on the table, I'd go to Spurs. It's obviously impossible to tell but from my perspective, I absolutely love playing sport and am competitive, the idea of sitting on a bench just seems more mad to me than losing out on a lot of money. Can't wait for footballer's salaries to start dipping
  2. Same here - if they were being honest, nobody would do this in their own professional lives, yet seem to expect footballers to take paycuts. I think the context is slightly different. If a normal person takes a pay cut, it will have a massive impact on how they live their lives. If a footballer goes from earning 9 mill to 6 mill, I think they can probably take the hit and many would if it meant first team football/living in London over Manchester, etc...

  4. Then Allen should be 60m
  5. He'd still be on 6 mill and would be a guaranteed starter in a very good team. Anyway, it's good news for us if this doesn't go through. I enjoyed Ade when he was on the BBC for the coverage of the world cup but he seems like an absolute cock with some of his antics on the pitch

Aye, Liverpool and West Ham are my two most disliked clubs in the PL. A lot of scum in there

Until they're back in the championship when we'll pick them up on a free
  8. It's far too much of a step up for him, it's going to be a disaster for both him and that w*** club. Fantastic watching! Michael Jackson Gif at the ready as soon as the season gets underway. If they start badly, they're going to be in the shit
  9. The thing is, while it's funny, it's a fucking pisstake. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there looking for work and a complete idiot like him who obviously doesn't give a shit, is churning out rubbish every day
  10. While I agree that Carroll is probably between 10-12m bracket (if you look at what he should be, not the English-born 50% extra pricetag) he is definitely a much better player than Danny Graham. From what I saw of Graham last season, and I watched quite a few of their games, he fluffed chance after chance. In most games where I saw Carroll play, he had a lot of shots blocked on the line and some good saves denying him. Carroll, if he worked on his right foot and got a hell of a lot of coaching to help his movement in the box, would be a very, very good player. Right now, he's just a good player
  11. Lee Dixon started out ok, was good on the tactical stuff and just kept quiet most of the time. Then, slowly but surely he became more and more boring and repetitive. If I had to take out three from the BBC, I'd for Mark "I crack appalling jokes" Lawrenson, Mark "I said Liverpool would win the league last season" Bright and Jonathan "Hypnodisc" Pearce
  12. Nope, I've honestly never thought he's selfish. I think he gets a really good balance between setting other players up and going alone. When he's around the halfway line and our half he generally tries to bring others into play, when he's in the opposing half, there's a good balance between him racing down the right and cutting in and also spreading the play/delivering crosses. The only frustrating thing is his consistency, but I don't mind that, his quality is good that of course he's never going to be as consistent as some other players
  13. Not interested in him, just don't rate him as a team player at all
  14. I actually cannot believe how appalling Liverpool are at PR. Such a fucking shambles
  15. Ranieri is such a decent guy, shame he's not a good manager
  16. If they've paid 12.5m euros with only a 2m max on top, I think that's a cracking deal
  17. I don't watch much La Liga, but 2 mill Euros for a player who scored 15 goals seems like a great piece of business by Swansea
  18. I think we force them into it: show a lot of interest in them, make the player want to come to us then put in bids which are lower than the club will go for when there are potentially better deals out there. Eventually, the player starts acting up and the whole thing gets a bit ugly but we've never really done badly out of it. I've said it before, Dekka and Mike are obviously a couple of heavyweight cockends but they do some great business
  19. Thanks for that Gerard, I'm sure your advice is very welcome
