How many times has Fergie sold a player that didnt want to leave and he's gone on to do better? Stam and Forlan, probably a few more but not that many considering the length of his reign. Recently he's used Sunderland as his dumping ground, I'd never buy a player from Manu again, if he tried to sell me Rooney I'd wonder if I was being done over. I'll put van Nistelrooy in that category too. Generally, he sells at the right time as does Wenger.

I can't believe you took Obertan man. Some day you will buy another AC from us for 35m to make amends. Well, Dalglish did.
-
Ridiculous how Fergie always seem to sell us damaged goods. Smith, Butt, Obertan. We have been royally screwed on so many occasions.
-
His career was ruined more by injury than anything else.
-
He has no previous experience with a job that will consider him well-suited as a DOF. I would also think a DOF will require plenty of networking and connections in football. As for PR, why would Llambias let Pardew take over his job?

Not sure about a very one-footed Santon on the left mind. In a system with wingbacks you are pretty much dependent on the wingbacks to provide width. Santon is never gonna send in quality crosses regularly.

West Bromwich Albion vs Newcastle United - 20/04/13 @ 3pm (No TV)
LRD replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
Alas, for Pardew the intentions are: AHHH DO NOT ATTACK!!!!! and Try to nick one +70 mins. So Pardew's logic applied to Tekken would be something like this: Let you character's health go below 30%, then start playing. That's not funny for you guys, but thumbs up for your ability to be able to laugh at your current disgrace. Supporting Newcastle means you must learn some self-depreciation and a bit of humor, otherwise you'll pretty much go bonkers. -
Tell me that Liverpool kit is not real.
-
Edit: No longer Saylor but Steven 'Slayer' Taylor
-
Someone should really photoshop that knife into Saylor's hand.
-
That knife on the right is just waiting to be picked up by Saylor.
-
Very different from the previous 'leaked' Chelsea kits. Some people have too much time on their hands.
-
Wouldn't be too bad as a free. Who's WBA's current RB btw?

That's the greater challenge, for repeat ACL'ers - staring at another tough 12 mth rehab/slog with the specialists post-op, just to get back to the professional level of performance. And it's arguably the physically most taxing rehab regime going around, at an elite level. It's that aspect (the mental side) which forces the retirement, especially when it' back-to-back, or a 3-peat The final reconstructive procedure, is more to do with maintaining an acceptable quality-of-life after football, in the context of having enough strength & range-of-movement, and the confidence to participate in the basics with the kids (whether that be backyard footy or cricket) You seem to know a lot about sports injuries. Are you active in that field or healthcare?

Don't think we're selling him. Even if we do, it will have to be significantly much higher than the 12m.

Nonsense. He will just be exactly like Pardew. 99% of the time the ball is in the air and nowhere near the short passing game we want, and a game principled on 'run faster, jump higher'. Awful manager.
-
His stock has risen tremendously but I hold the slightest hope of landing him. After all I did not expect us to sign MYM either.
-
Looks like he's got another victim on his plate.
-
One thing's for sure if we bring Carroll back, we need to get a couple of wingers in too. The only existing width we have in Debuchy and Haidara will not bring out the effectiveness for employing Carroll in the system.

That's absolutely terrible news. 2 seasons out with an injury is really painful for a player, especially at his age where every year counts. He must be devastated considering he's so near to a return.
-
He'd cost a lot more and not necessarily achieve much for it. Yes I agree, tactically he's much better than Pardew, but to me he's one of those cases where you end up paying for the reputation rather than the results. Like I said, his over-defensive line ups meant his finishing league positions were consistently disappointing for Liverpool considering the money they threw at it. It was more a question for neesy who thinks Benitez is a poorer manager, which I disagree. I can understand those who consider him a lesser option in view of the set-up here including issues you have mentioned. Putting those aside, he's better tactically, has clear ideas and will make the players work as a team. He also managed to win both domestic and continental competitions with Liverpool, and so nearly got them to their first league title in years. Agree with you there might be better options like. I prefer an upcoming manager able to impose his ideas on the team and a long-term vision. But when it comes to managerial capabilities, Rafa >>> Pardew definitely.
