  1. From that video he looks like a second striker: frequently involved in the build up play, and good at protecting the ball. Consequently he wasn't much inside the opponent's box. The same role did Ba perform in our training matches..But what we really need is a center forward who uses the space between the defense and the keeper, a player that is good in timing his runs, and who is capable of being at the right place at the right time, a quick poacher in other words..I hope Roux is capable of filling that position.. If we're going to play two up front (still unsure what the plan is meant to be) then I'd assume Ba would be the one right up there to finish things off. If that's the plan I'm satisfied..Because we need opposite movements in attack..In the last two matches both Ba and Ameobi were involved in the build up play.Neither of them used the space behind the defense, which makes everything much more easier for the opponent..

  3. It's more important that we sign Roux and Cissokho..Besides, I think Jonas could be great as a RM.. And with Mav on the left, we would have a more balanced midfield than earlier: speed and movement on the flanks, and muscle and passing abilities in the center....

    Joey Barton

Sums up the reason why he ended up at QPR. No one else was prepared to gamble on the joey barton show. Exactly..

    Joey Barton

A good player, but also a fucking nut case..The club stood by him when he had all his injuries and troubles off the pitch..Should have signed the contract he was previously offered, as a sign of gratitude..But as Nolan he chose money.. It would have been fucking lunacy to give those two the terms they're now on in their current clubs..

    Alan Pardew

Well, considering I want the club to give this competition a real go this season (Birmingham ffs!), I was happy that he fielded an experienced side last night. The kids coming on and doing well was a bonus. FA- and Carling cup are opportunities for our youth..If we start to field an experienced side in every cup game, it will cause a shit storm injury wise..That's exactly why Birmingham was relegated..All those matches resulted in a massive injury list..If they had to choose between staying up and winning the cup, I think their choice is pretty obvious.
  8. Unlike Ranger, Sammy seems like a very good finisher, which is a bit unreal considering that Nolan's arms are thicker than Sammy's legs.

£7 mill, isnt't that PSV's original demand? So it looks like the fat bastard caved in...

Yeah, if we only sign Roux, SAnton and Pieters, I'll be furious!

I'll be quite happy with Roux, Santon and Pieters
  12. Jesus I know you said so far, but common man he's played about 100 mins so far in his Newcastle career. He's scored goals where ever he's been, he'll score goals here. Agreed..He'll be much better when he's partnered up with the moveable striker..Then we'll have opposite movements: Ba running towards our midfield or trying to keep the ball, while the attacker runs into space..Yesterday Best and Ba acted both as holding attackers, so the Scunt. defenders did not have to consider the space behind them..That made their job much easier imo.
  13. Absolutely rubbish yesterday..Not able to pass the ball at all, and generally crappy defending. Time to move Raylor from left to right back..Cannot be worse than Simpson in defense, and he's way better than Simpson in attack.
  14. What's Enrique now earning in LFC? 70-80? ..That's more than Baines and probably on the same level as Cole and Evra..He's good, but not that good..
  15. That is true..But the point is that we're getting better value for money with the likes of Cabaye and Peters. That enables us to reinforce in other areas of the pitch, hopefully..
  16. Everything depends on what you get in return.. We offloaded an aging and expensive Nolan, and in return we got Maveraux. The same goes for Enrique: if he's replaced with a younger, cheaper and talented player like Peters who is now playing lb for the no 1 national team in the world, I have no problem with the club's current transfer policy.
  17. Surprised we didn't go for him first TBH. Probably not aware of it until now..
  18. Dear me..It's when you see Cattermole's tackle from behind that you see how close he was from eliminating Jonas for the rest of the season..A proper scissor tackle..Luckily Jonas lifted his foot just in time. That saved him from a horrendous leg break..Cattermole is a butcher, not a footballer..Fucking disgrace!!!And Webb, a joke of a referee!!! http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/9209/poorjonas.jpg
  19. Much better in 2nd but imo he was not on the net in the first half..Lost the ball, Sunderland counterattacked and he didn't try at all to correct his error. But I have belief in him..Needs to work on his concentration
  20. Rubbish in the first half, but did get better in the second..Hopefully Pardew's man management skills will get the best out of Obertan..It's obvious that the lad got talent..But his body language sucks
  21. They have plenty of people who're capable of running things from the middle..The problem is that they do not have wide play..Everything goes through the middle..That usually works against weaker teams, but when up against strong defensive teams they run into trouble..Arsenal did exactly the same mistake against us,
  22. No, not as long as the referee did see the situation and took action accordingly..It's only in those cases where the referee claims he didn't see what happened that FA can step in and punish based on television pictures..Eg Song and Barton
  23. Referees that don't give a red in such situations should be punished too..
  24. MOM today..Helped Raylor tremendously and with his runs he took the pressure off the defense..
