  1. youtube: Davide Santon//The New Star Of Inter . The elimination of CRonaldo :fwap:
  2. Preparations and a stubborn owner I guess...
  3. Rich: I think both your and my arguments make sense..The picture is complex with a set of combined causes..My point is that I don't brand people as idiots or tools if they disagree with me.
  4. Bad formulation.Barton was involved in the build up play..He was able to cross the ball to Jonas when the opponent was unbalanced on that side, but because we didn't have a CM with passing abilities Barton, seldomly received the ball when he was unmarked. He doesn't have the pace or technique to beat his man, so he needs to be set up in unmarked space. That resulted in an unbalanced midfield where most of the crossers into the box came from the left side.
  5. it's just about balance mate, that's all, and especially if you've got jonas ahead of him the other team pretty much know what they need to do to stop us down the left. he looks really comfortable on the ball though, him and ben arfa down the left is potentially incredible. It's not that straight forward at all. You can't just say because they're both left footed the other team knows exactly how to stop them. Disagree completely. the other team knows which way they're gonna go 9 times out of 10, and that they'll be running into traffic rather than space. i'm not saying it wont work, i'm not saying we wont have a good left flank, i'm saying we'll have a more predictable one and that's a bad thing imo. Everything depends on his pace and technique..If you are useless with the ball, like Simpson, it will be a disaster putting him on left back..But from what I've seen from Santon he's fast and is capable of going both ways..It's his skills that makes him unpredictable, not his preferred fot.. have you played much football? as a defender? I have, but at an inferiour level so it's hardly relevant for this discussion..My point is simple, Santon got skills, so he's probably capable of passing and crossing with both feet, although he prefers his right foot..Simpson on the other hand find it difficult to hit a simple pass..Consequently Simpson would be the shittest defender on earth if placed on left back, but not Santon. contrary to what sam allardyce might tell you, the basics of the game are the same at any level. and one of them is if you know which way someone's likely to go, you've got a better chance of stopping them. i'm not even sure why you're talking about simpson to be honest. Because he's a mong who justifies his existence on the board by pretending to get into the 'theory' of football and offer some 'great insight' - it's car-crashingly excruciating to read. Jeesus christ..Theories are propositons about football you ignorant..They're up for discussion...The problem with some supporters is that they're so in love with some players, or have such an fixated view of football, that they refuse to discuss alternatives..And those who propose an alternative view are branded as idiots. . You and Ronaldo are experts in this particular area. We had exactly the same discussion previous season with Nolan (his lack of fitness and incapability of distributing the ball)..I was of course slaughtered for even mentioning this..Even those with minimal brain activity (that excludes you and Ronaldo) now see how much more balanced and better our central midfield is. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, but you could at least try to argument why instead of polluting the internet with idiotic remarks. Spot on. I was critical of Nolan's signing from day 1 and got slated for it a few times but just seeing Cabaye in there now vindicates everything. Not that Nolan did badly for us but he stopped us moving on. That is right..With Cabaye, both flanks are now "suddenly" involved in the build up play too..Wonder why.. Ronaldo: I've never argued that Loven is a better player than Bendter...Tool, waste of oxygen, moron, that's probably some very familiar words for you...poor thing..

  7. I'm comparing Santon with Simpson to illustrate that technical skills and pace are highly relevant when playing in a positon that is unnatural for you, ie right footed player playing on the left side, or the other way around..

  10. same Super in the air, but useless on the ground. We need a fast attacker that runs in space..And Chamakh isn't that kind of player..
  11. Don't think there are any players ahead of him tbh, he was incredible in pre season and Villas Boas rates him, I think we'll see him in a front 3 with Torres and Mata now he's back from suspension. I'm amazed how down some people are on a loan for Macheda though, Ba has just shown the first signs of being the player we thought, in which case he'll be a more than good enough 1st choice, Best will continue to graft and get goals, and of course Pardew hearts Shola. Add Macheda to that and it's very healthy competition for what will in all liklihood be 1 striking position when HBA returns. Some people are so transfixed on a big fee marquee striker it's almost demented, I fear for their mental health. It's just possible that there isn't an outstanding target out there now, it's not gonna kill us to keep our powder dry and wait for one if that's the case

With Shola and Vukic injured he had no choice ffs.. Shut the fuck up, man. Clueless tool. Incredible, you take stupidity to a new level..Fact a) Ba is fasting and consequently not in top shape, fact b) Shola is injured. Consequence? Pards is forced to use Loven because he have very few other options in attack.. Fact c) Haris freak injury..Consequence? Smith must play..Remove a) b) and c) from the equation and neither Loven or Smith would have appeared on the pitch today..He did the best he could with the squad he had to his disposal You should be proud of yourself, you defy the evolution every day!

Very difficult to create anything when we're up against solid defensive teams like Fulham..They were precise in their pressure in the beginning of the game, and sat very deep denying us space to run it..But as the match went on Cabaye and Tiote were able to control the midfield and the distribution of the former meant that both Jonas and Obertan became involved..And that's exactly what we previously lacked: involvement from both wide men..And with Obertan on the pitch instead of Barton (who drifts too much inside) we had width in our play..That also made the job easier for Cabaye since he could cross to both sides..
  15. As long as Tiote can get himself back to last season's form, and Barfa slots in well, it's the makings of one of the sexiest midfields outside of the top 6. Fuck it, including the top 6. Tiote sweeping up in front of the defence, Cabaye launching the Hollywood balls, the simple balls to start attacks, generally starting play, and Barfa charging at the defence and creating/exploiting gaps. I'm wet just thinking about it. I just came..
  16. Agree, but the positioning is the factor young keepers struggle with. Given had also the same trouble at that age..His solution was to stay on the line permanently.. Positive to see him respond to the next free-kick, in almost exactly the same place by commanding the area and taking the ball out of the sky. Agree! That response required balls..A keeper who patrols the box takes the pressure off the defense. Cannot be underestimated, especially when up against strong box teams like Fulham. He will make a couple of mistakes because of his offensive nature, but during a whole season I think he'll prevent more goals than if he acts like Given.

  18. What a player...He is the creative engine we lacked last season. At last BOTH flanks were involved in the offensive play thanks to his distribution..
  19. Your day has arrived Punk. Tin helmet at the ready, son. I know, but I just have a good feeling..And if he sinks Fulham, 99 % of the forum will have a lot of explaining to do. I'm probably the only exception What is there to explain? How s*** player scored? Nope, that a shit player can score if he got teammates like Cabaye who is capable of exploiting Loven's few abilities..

  21. This! And he sometimes he was in good scoring positions but didn't receive the ball..
  22. Get in! Now we will finally see Loven's capabilities as striker..Cabaye will give him the through balls he didn't get last seson..I predict one goal and one assist
  23. As long as he creates space for our midfield and Ba I think he'll fit into our team..
  24. Above article contradicts MA's previous transfer policy..He prefers to pay the whole amount upfront..
