That isn't stripes, it's a big M. It's basically an unbelievably slim Brandenburg Gate.

Related to Louise Taylor from the Guardian, perhaps? I mean, she did name di Canio as her Manager of the Season in her column last year.

How hard is it to do normal stripes? Nike manage to give Inter beautiful kits year in year out without messing up the stripes.

Second-hand ones presumably? Depends. This one was new. However, there are others which are second hand but supposedly in very good condition.

Wtf with those prices are they stitched with gold thread I bought mine from their eBay account. It was £19.99 (+£3.75 pp). Reasonable considering the score draw retro shirts cost £30. Very happy with this: http://oi58.tinypic.com/wiwoy.jpg http://oi57.tinypic.com/mmsh0z.jpg

Check out http://www.vintagefootballshirts.com/teams/newcastle/119 I just ordered the 97-99 shirt a few days ago. I'll post a few pictures on here once I receive it.

I would love Umbro as our suppliers. Just imagine our badge being embroidered on like Adidas used to do.

Derby for me. Proper football club unlike QPR or Wigan; you can count on Pride Park selling out every fortnight.

"Michael Owen was made a captain ahead of me. I thought: 'What is going on here?' It was embarrassing" - Sol Campbell He's got a point there. However, I find it hard to have sympathy with the rest of his argument. Rio would have been captain in South Africa had it not been for his injury.

If you could pick the Premiership clubs, who would you have?

Public apology to Kevin Keegan for all the shit that was spread about him in the press by the previous owners.

Born in India, moved to England in 98 when I was 7. My dad worked at the RVI. I remember it was cup final day that year and everyone was wearing black and white. I'd only been in the country for a couple of weeks so I didn't have a clue what was going on but that was my first experience of NUFC. We moved to South Shields soon after but we left the North East in 2000 so I haven't been able to watch as many games at SJP as I'd like to unfortunately.

Being linked with a bid for Ricky Kaka.

George Caulkin @CaulkinTheTimes 11s Arsenal have made a bid of £10m for Yohan Cabaye. Dismissed as "derisory" by #Nufc and will be rejected if it hasn't already.

It's obvious from the past that Ashley will do anything to discredit people who go against him. How has Cisse gone against him though? By objecting to the shirt? In that case, wouldn't the 'propaganda' be fact? The fact that the papers are using religion in this issue. And that's what has upset fans even more because he goes to casinos. But Cisse hasn't come out and said anything so how can all this abuse be leveled against him?

It was a decent, well reasoned post until that last part. (although i'm pretty sure he will be using his religion as an excuse) But why? I've been to a casino and that's my personal choice. But by wearing a Wonga loga on his chest, he'd actively be promoting a company to millions around the UK that most people feel uncomfortable about because they target vulnerable people. Because he follows a faith. His faith is against gambling. Is he is using his faith as a reason for not wearing the shirt yet gambles in Casinos then he's a hypocrite. Surely being a Muslim does not mean he will follow every law. Heck, he might not follow any and just identify with the religion. Anyway with this issue, we don't know anything about why he's refusing to wear the shirt. I'd rather hear his side of the story once the negotiations are complete than tar him with what the papers are saying.

He's not made a statement so how do all of you know it's to do with his religion? We had the same shit with KK and remember what came out of his tribunal? An admission by the club that they had led a propaganda campaign against him. Wouldn't surprise me if the club are at it again regarding Cisse. It's what Ashley is all about. As for the gambling, so what? People draw the line at different places. If he has a moral problem with Wonga, I get it. So do I.
