It was a decent, well reasoned post until that last part. (although i'm pretty sure he will be using his religion as an excuse) But why? I've been to a casino and that's my personal choice. But by wearing a Wonga loga on his chest, he'd actively be promoting a company to millions around the UK that most people feel uncomfortable about because they target vulnerable people. Because he follows a faith. His faith is against gambling. Is he is using his faith as a reason for not wearing the shirt yet gambles in Casinos then he's a hypocrite. Surely being a Muslim does not mean he will follow every law. Heck, he might not follow any and just identify with the religion. Anyway with this issue, we don't know anything about why he's refusing to wear the shirt. I'd rather hear his side of the story once the negotiations are complete than tar him with what the papers are saying.

He's not made a statement so how do all of you know it's to do with his religion? We had the same shit with KK and remember what came out of his tribunal? An admission by the club that they had led a propaganda campaign against him. Wouldn't surprise me if the club are at it again regarding Cisse. It's what Ashley is all about. As for the gambling, so what? People draw the line at different places. If he has a moral problem with Wonga, I get it. So do I.

http://www.footballshirtculture.com/sponsorship/rangers-announce-puma-kit-deal.html Rangers Football Club announced a new five-year kit deal with Puma who will become the official supplier and licensee of replica merchandise for the club. The agreement which will commence at the start of Season 2013/14 will see Rangers wearing the PUMA brand on all of the club's team kit, replica kit, training wear and equipment. The partnership with PUMA complements the club's joint venture with retail giants Sports Direct. Looks like we'll be with Puma for a long time to come.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/sep/16/newcastle-united-everton-premier-league Pardew is puzzled by the annoyance of Everton's management and players about supposedly inflammatory comments he is reported to have made last spring – but which he claims he has no recollection of – to the effect that Newcastle were "operating in a different league" from the Merseysiders. What Pardew actually said was: "Forget about Everton and Aston Villa, we've put ourselves in a similar position to Arsenal" but, to place things in context, it was part of a long answer to a question about whether he would struggle to retain key players. Pardew felt that, like Arsenal, this was something Newcastle could be especially vulnerable to. Moreover he subsequently reflected that it would be a "big ask" for his team to finish above Everton again this season.

She's made the video private. Now, I am sad.

I hate this Rodgers fella. Swansea were playing the possession game long before Rodgers showed up. That was brought in by Martinez and carried on by Sousa. And just because he's from the UK, he gets the credit. And all this nonsense about him being Manager of the Year from some quarters especially pissed me off. How could you have looked past Pardew? Plus, Lambert did a better job. Lambert's Norwich were in League 1 in 09/10 lest we forget.

Is there a reason why it is impossible to find the away shirt with long sleeves?

£5 million loan fee. And his wages.

Can't believe there were many fans who hated him and wanted rid not long ago.

I reckon it will be uncovered. For example, Uefa refer to the Emirates as Arsenal stadium. I know this isn't Uefa but the thinking should be along the same lines.
-
Our last three Premier League campaigns have opened with: Man Utd away, Man Utd away, Arsenal home. So I'm going for Arsenal home.

Not enough black for me but glad we got rid of the chunky stripes.

Such idiocy. It is not a maths equation. All four players are more effective and consistent in their position than Ferdinand is in his own. Rio's career at the top level is rapidly ending and he should plan accordingly. England's best centreback now and into the future is Cahill, imo. Rio was more consistent and effective than Terry last season.

Mark Ogden @MOgdenTelegraph Micah Richards should've been in initial Euro squad, but had he accepted a stand-by role, he'd now be going. His 'no' opened door for Kelly.

Luke Edwards @LukeEdwardsTele My 1st question to Demba Ba when he signed for #nufc. Why did u choose 2 sign 4 Newcastle? "I just asked my agent which was the best offer"
-
Doubt it. He made a couple of sub appearances against Man Utd and Villa when we came back up.
