Most alarming thing today for me. Was that he didn’t look anywhere near as fast as usual. He’s been crap, but the pace has still been there. Got done for speed by Gueye and Mykolenko FFS. Not going to keep on. As it’s getting boring and we all know it. But pound for pound. He is looking like one of the worst signings we’ve ever made. In the Prem era, anyway. £55m and he barely looks worth £5m.

I’ve mentioned it in the tactics thread. Our oversized, horseshoe of doom that spans half the pitch. The few times we looked good in the first half. Was when we got between the lines centrally or attacked more centrally. Woltemade, I think Elanga at one point, Gordon and then Ramsey for the goal. The way we deliberately move the ball wide all the time, or worse, get funnelled there by the opposition. Is mind numbing. Especially when we currently don’t seem to have a functioning striker on the books, our crossing is often crap and today we were playing against a team whose main strengths would arguably be defending deep and defending crosses

Nemtizz’ post. Forgot to quote it.

Doubt it is only about wages. Chelsea and Man U are bigger clubs than us. Plus the fact they can offer a better financial package.
-
Only Spurs with a worse record in the last 6? Not exactly an easy set of fixtures. But the performances have been crap in the league for a long while. I thought there had been plenty of positives to take from the wins of late and even the defeat at City. I genuinely thought we were slowly turning the corner. But that performance today was like Groundhog Day. Seen it time and again this season. Lacking ideas, quality and cutting edge in attack. Whilst defending like cunts at the same time.

Well that’s daft. Unless it’s the old booing the decision to take off a player? That happens quite often. But guessing that wasn’t the case here. Not been to a home game for a while. So I’m not sure on the current feelings towards him from match going fans.
-
Was it not the Everton fans that were booing him all game?
-
Not a big fan of his. But even allowing for that fuck up for their third. I don’t think he was particularly bad. Not compared to most the others. It was a low bar, granted. He does seem to be a lot calmer and quiet when he plays these days. If we want to go into the NO-body language-ometer, again. I think I’d rather he went back to Aggro Gordon. He was better when he was being a prick to everyone
-
He really can strike a ball, like. Hope he starts taking more shots. Two more goals from outside the box. Think that is like 6 goals from long range in our last 5 games? Considering how crap we are at creating chances. We may as well start having a go. Especially when teams sit so deep and have so many behind the ball. Might keep getting deflections like today.

Ramsdale being in the squad would be even more egregious, IMO. Massive wages, paid a big loan fee and the option on him is steeeeeeep. I could see Pope staying on for his last year as second choice. But no way should he be starting. Got so many positions that need upgrading or more depth. So I think two new keepers could be pushing it.
-
It may well be a coincidence. But he has really stepped up since Bruno went down. Been chipping in with goals and assists. The workrate is there still, TBF it never left. But there is a bit more quality to his play. One of a few positives today. Can’t think of many more other than Ramsey first half.
-
Ramsdale hasn’t had high profile ones like Pope. But it literally seemed like a goal a game or more. Where you immediately think ‘should be doing better there.’ He is also a total calamity with how he controls his box. Glued to his line, plays like a cat on a hot tin roof, positioning is terrible. Not really sure him playing changes much. But I’d be tempted to give it a go. Pope can’t be trusted this season, it seems.
-
Yeah. I’m sure if we went back through there are loads that they’ve missed. 2-3 on that list barely deserve being there. Strange to go to that effort and then put in ones that hardly seem like mistakes. Either way. He has become a walking disaster. Every other game there is a howler. Don’t know if he is just shot to bits mentally, physically he has been slowed by injuries or a bit of both. This is not the same keeper that we had for the first 18 months or so. He has gone from being one of the best ‘keepers’ in the league. To a complete liability and one of the worst. This is coming from one of the few members of the Pope fanclub, as well. It’s indefensible now and has ruined his legacy.
-
He was the same useless cunt lino from the City game last week, wasn’t he?
-
He can’t legislate for some criminal individual mistakes. But we’ve been all over the place defensively and conceded shit, soft goals all season. Considering we have basically never been like that since he has been here. There is something amiss there. We used to be solid as fuck seeing out leads or hanging on. Now we just crumble and concede for fun. Yet again we have no clue how to break down a team that sits deep. But then most teams would and we put ourselves in that position with said shit goals. Never even had a chance to build momentum. As we just conceded straight after scoring twice.
-
Hard to put into words how shit we’ve been.
-
I don’t even want to single anyone out for more criticism than others. Just utterly abject to a man. Yet again, an organised team that sits deep and we have no clue. They’ve had 4-5 meaningful attacks and scored 3. The soft as shite, clown show defending has been a theme all season.
-
I mean. Hall fouls him. It’s a pen if he doesn’t score. Not sure what Pope is meant to do there.
-
Actually called it after we scored. We are fucking pathetic
-
When did we get so fucking soft at the back. All fucking season man
-
As disgusted with the performance as the fans. Sick as a dog.
-
The mistake is bad enough. But I wasn’t even worried as he had 3-5 working days to get up and fall on the ball. It’s like Callum Wilson x 10. Been a quality player. But with every game that goes by, he seems to get worse.
-
Joelinton needs to come off. Offering nowt. Abject as fuck this.
-
Even without that catastrophic error from Pope. We have been piss poor. Barely created anything and they have been 3 on 3 on the break regularly.
-
Toss of a coin. But may as well play Ramsdale. Howler every other game at the minute.
