Howe’s interview with our in house media was spot on. Pulled no punches about the second half and seemed like he was fuming. Something to work on. I thought Willock was much better today. To the point where he was one of our better performers. Tino was too, apart from still being a bit clumsy on the ball when the game state called for being sensible.

That was an atrocious second half. Got away with one there. Also, we already knew it. But Wilson is about 3 years past his sell by date. Great result and 3 points. Bar a half hour spell first half. Performance less so.

Starting XI perhaps looks a few short of the strongest possible. But happy that the bench looks so strong and we have genuine options. Perhaps we won’t get worse after we make subs for once.

People suggesting Pope goes the other way as part of the deal. Not a chance while Parker is there IMO. The few times I’ve seen Burnley. They pass it around at the back more than most teams. Trafford is often heavily involved in their build up. I still think Pope is underrated on here as a keeper because of how bad he is with his feet. But because of that. Yep. Mate’s uncle who sorted them last time as some benefit sacrifice through his work bonus (works in hospitality) got them no bother, NUFC end for I think around 600 quid. Were supposed to be 1500 plus. Not a sniff this time.

I'm not going this year, unlike the last one. But genuinely not going into the game with any real trepidation TBH. Last time I genuinely thought we could have got something. Even though it 'was Manchester United' (Gary Neville voice), they had their run of form where they kept winning, despite playing relatively poorly. Whereas we hit a bit of a bad patch. All of that factored in. I really thought we might have got something. What's the saying? It's the hope that kills you. This time, I fully expect fuck all and we are massive underdogs. So just not feeling that nervousness already and probably won't until I'm in the pub somewhere watching it. At the same time, I feel like the players we now have are better equipped for a cup final. In terms of ability and the ones who were here last time having that experience of it under their belt. So I'm not writing it off or anything. Just setting the bar low in what I expect.
