  1. I'm not going this year, unlike the last one. But genuinely not going into the game with any real trepidation TBH. Last time I genuinely thought we could have got something. Even though it 'was Manchester United' (Gary Neville voice), they had their run of form where they kept winning, despite playing relatively poorly. Whereas we hit a bit of a bad patch. All of that factored in. I really thought we might have got something. What's the saying? It's the hope that kills you. This time, I fully expect fuck all and we are massive underdogs. So just not feeling that nervousness already and probably won't until I'm in the pub somewhere watching it. At the same time, I feel like the players we now have are better equipped for a cup final. In terms of ability and the ones who were here last time having that experience of it under their belt. So I'm not writing it off or anything. Just setting the bar low in what I expect.
  2. Maybe that's part of the thinking (if this made up swap deal were actually real). He'd score every home game
  3. That plus the compo to us for Ashworth, plus whatever it may have cost to sack him. Money well spent.
  4. I think Nunez is actually a really good player, but not a consistent goalscorer. Fast, strong when he's not diving, plays off both feet, bit of skill. It's just when he gets near the box, he almost always has a rush of blood to the head and misses so many good chances. He's also constantly offside. Not ideal traits for a striker

He comes across so well off the pitch. On it, not so much. His diving and body language (NO™️) do my head in.
  6. That red, man. Can’t stop laughing It’s like the Roy Keane one on Shearer but on steroids.
  7. That throw like a toddler trying to throw a ball.
  8. There was a whole thread on it with the guy commenting about it. Almost felt sorry for him. Has to have been through addiction/stupidity.
  9. Shithouse. So unlucky that.
  10. Reminds me of one of the worst bets in history from a clear problem gambler on Betfair. Was on Reddit I think and confirmed as genuine. I can’t remember the exact details. But It was an AFCON game that was 3-0 late on. He put like £1000 or maybe even 10 grand at 1.01 on the team to go on and win. It finished 3-3 EDIT - not saying this bet is anything like that. Just reminded me of it.
  11. Placeholder? Just a stop gap until someone they want becomes available? I guess if he does well in the meantime. Then it’s a win-win.
  12. Is that really much of an achievement in that league? 11 in a row before Bayer Leverkusen finally broke their run last year. They cherry pick the best players from other German clubs and have a decent budget to shop abroad, too. Didn’t Pep get stick as he didn’t improve them in the CL. Yet he kept churning out league titles and I’m guessing the Pokal, or whatever it’s called, as well. Which I don’t think carries much weight over there.
  13. Did they run out of candidates and they kept getting turned down by their first 10-20 choices or something? The inexperienced manager that got Burnley relegated and looked tactically one dimensional. Seems a mental choice as the next Bayern boss.
  14. Another one that we’d be late to the party for and paying 5-10 times what the other club paid. Obviously he has kicked on as a player and got his chance to shine. But you’d imagine he’d cost what, £30m plus? Need to try and start taking a punt on some of these types of players.
  15. I’m sure they’ll still go through. So they should with the team they have. But it always seemed mad that Kompany got that job.
  16. Brilliant. Great assist from Kim. Put it on a plate.
  17. Nunez plus £140m. Seems a fair deal to me.
  18. Cunha is fantastic. But I'd imagine he'll have better offers for a start and I don't see how he fits in our system at all, personally? Unless Howe tweaks the formation back to something like his old 4-2-3-1, that I think he played at Bournemouth or something similar to what we played against Arsenal. Then where does he play? He seems perfect in that Wolves system as 1 of 2 behind the striker. It's like he has free rein to do what he wants and it is usually for the benefit of the team. People often associate that attacking mid/10 sort of role as a luxury. But he has that workrate and tenacity to go with the quality on the ball. Well, he does whenever I watch him. All that said. I'd be absolutely buzzing if we signed him We'd fit him in somewhere.
  19. He'll be back at Sporting by the end of 2025.
  20. What are the London pubs for this? Not necessarily near Wembley, but NUFC fans pubs? The Dolphin near King’s Cross is the only one I know of. Still debating coming up to Newcastle to watch it. But I’m also considering London as opposed to watching it around here in Newmarket/Cambridge. As the pubs will be rammed full of Liverpool fans and it will be unbearable.
  21. What do you mean trying to? That’s one of @loki679 ‘s favourite dishes.
  22. Isn’t that his 3rd goal for them already?

    James Trafford

He looks about 5ft 10”. So all of his saves look impressive and at full stretch. He gets a lot of practice behind that shit defence! Poor on crosses. He got injured against us in the first half and then had a good while out. Not been back long, I don’t think? Before that, he showed up well on that xG against stat The Other 14 use….. xG, again
